Perfect for us!
What a lovely home: it was perfect for 4 adults and 3 children. Adjacent to a playground, the house was the perfect mix: great for the kids when they wanted to play while grown-ups relaxed on the porch, relaxing and keeping an eye out. We walked to Jordan Pond from the house, as well as to the beach at Seal Harbor. Kitchen was immaculately appointed with a well-stocked spice cabinet and great cutlery and cookware. If you have small children, be aware that there's a wall of china in the dining room. We just made sure the kids didn't play in there.
Diana was very welcoming and accessible for our few requests and questions.
Overall, it was a dreamy and lovely vacation thanks to this lovely home.
Great House in Seal Harbor
Very nice home for a vacation stay in Seal Harbor. The house has recently been remodeled very nicely with many conveniences, making it a very comfortable base for hikes in Acadia and enjoying the other activities on and around Mt. Desert Island. The host, Diana, is gracious and accommodating and made us feel quite welcome in her home.
Beautiful home in a perfect location! Approximately 1 mile from hiking trails in Acadia National Park. Easy and scenic drive to Bar Harbor. Peaceful and private. Beautiful, large porch to relax.
Lovely home in Acadia
We had a wonderful time in Acadia at Diana's beautiful home! The close location to carriage trails made biking and walking in the park very convenient right from her home without having to drive anywhere. The home had everything we needed for great family getaway!
A superb classic home with a fantastic host
I have stayed at many VRBO and AirBNB throughout the world and this was one of the nicest places I have stayed at. The house was spacious, beds were VERY comfortable. the porch was amazing, and Diana was a great host by leaving us beer in the fridge and fresh apples from the orchard. We loved hanging out on the porch and planning out our day and then enjoying drinks on the porch after a busy day. The WiFi was excellent and we loved the Steamshower. The Kitchen was very well equipped if you were inclined to cook. The drive into Bar Harbor was an easy 10 minute drive. I really liked this place and would stay again next time we are visiting the area. Thanks Diana!
And thank all of you! You were absolutely wonderful guests, and I hope Nan will take me up on my offer to return, if not this autumn, then next. You took wonderful care of the house, and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting you.
Great location, great house
Our family of 7 (three generations) stayed at Diana's place this summer for our trip to MDI/Acadia National park and the house is just perfect. It's clean, very comfortable, well equipped and very centrally located. Access to Park loop road for Acadia (esp. Jordan pond, Cadillac mtn.) are superb, as is access to Bar Harbor, Seal Harbor and beyond. The house has everything you need - well stocked kitchen, very comfortable beds and a beautiful porch to sit out on. A wonderful place to make wonderful memories.
Thank you very much, Mahesh, and extended family. I have just returned from a family celebration, my mother's 87th, where we all enjoyed your very thoughtful house present. I am happy that three generations of your family enjoyed themselves here--those opportunities are too rare!
All my very best.
Situated in a quiet neighborhood, the house is within walking distance of carriage and hiking trails in Acadia National Park. The Seal Harbor beach is also within walking distance, and is an excellent put-in for sea kayaking. The Island Explorer Bus runs frequently between Bar Harbor and Northeast Harbor, and can carry bikes. The Village of Seal Harbor features two shops, a small post office, and a coffee shop.
