Wonderful home for a weekend away with family!
The house was clean, comfortable, and in a fabulous location! It was a short drive to Bar Harbor and very close to Jordan Pond where we hiked around the pond and up Mt. Sargeant. The house had some extra "luxuries" including a soaking tub, a steam shower, a fireplace, and a piano. Diana was very responsive to all of our questions prior to the trip. I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a nice place to stay while exploring MDI.
Great stay with a wonderful cozy cottage.
The grounds and house were well kept and clean. Great features like fireplace, piano, and good location to the park and neighboring towns
Beautiful home near Acadia NP
We spent a fantastic week at this beautiful Seal Harbor cottage. We booked the house for our family holiday to Acadia NP and were completely pleased with the property. Diana was an amazing hostess - very responsive and proactive with communications and we found the house beautifully appointed upon arrival - fine linens, towels, dining room table set and a fantastic kitchen with just perfect cookware and serving pieces plus a great gas grill outside. Our children 6 and 10 loved the playground next door while the grandparents and our niece (17) enjoyed reading on the quiet front porch. The house is also a short walk from Seal Harbor where one can swim at the sandy beach (which we did during the heat wave the week we were in town) or stop by the Coffee House for delicious baked goods/breakfast sandwiches/coffees. Acadia NP entrance is also very close by and made it super convenient to get to Cadillac Mountain for sunrise, Jordan Pond and Bubble Rock for hikes and touring on Park Loop Road. We all agreed the house was the nicest one we've ever rented and made our extended family holiday special. Highly recommend this gorgeous home in a beautiful part of the US.
Thank you very much, Lee Anne! You and your family were the perfect guests. I am delighted that your family was able to gather together for a holiday---that happens too rarely.
All the best!
Charming home in quiet location
The home was perfect in every way. Plenty of room for our group of six. Fabulous wrap around porch. In a quiet location yet very convenient to Acadia-National-Park, good restaurants and just a short drive to Bar Harbor. Hostess personally greeted us upon arrival.
Thank you very much, Nancy! I am glad I had a chance to meet you all---wish I could have shown you and your friends around Katahdin and Baxter as well.
This vintage home is well kept and in a great location.
Located in quiet Seal Harbor and close to Acadia National Park, a beautiful one mile walk through the woods. The large wrap around porch is lovely and perfect for lounging outside.
The owner is very responsive and helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Thank you very much, Lisa. I enjoyed meeting you and your family, especially since we share interests. I'll be in touch with your husband when I come across puzzling militaria.
All the best.
Perfect for us!
What a lovely home: it was perfect for 4 adults and 3 children. Adjacent to a playground, the house was the perfect mix: great for the kids when they wanted to play while grown-ups relaxed on the porch, relaxing and keeping an eye out. We walked to Jordan Pond from the house, as well as to the beach at Seal Harbor. Kitchen was immaculately appointed with a well-stocked spice cabinet and great cutlery and cookware. If you have small children, be aware that there's a wall of china in the dining room. We just made sure the kids didn't play in there.
Diana was very welcoming and accessible for our few requests and questions.
Overall, it was a dreamy and lovely vacation thanks to this lovely home.
Thank you very much Cala. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your summer, and will soon again return to Mount Desert Island.
All the best to you and your family.
Situated in a quiet neighborhood, the house is within walking distance of carriage and hiking trails in Acadia National Park. The Seal Harbor beach is also within walking distance, and is an excellent put-in for sea kayaking. The Island Explorer Bus runs frequently between Bar Harbor and Northeast Harbor, and can carry bikes. The Village of Seal Harbor features two shops, a small post office, and a coffee shop.
