About Laura Strong

Kevin and I have lived in the Flathead Valley since the late 70s. We've put on hundreds, probably thousands, of miles backpacking, climbing, hiking, fishing, biking, camping, skiing and boating- when it comes to recreating- we love to go do it! Oh yes we've managed to squeeze plenty of working in there also. But any and every local will tell you- we don't live here to work- we work (as little as possible) to live in the most amazing place!

We love and know this area very well- we'll help you discover the on or off-the-beaten path adventure you are dreaming of- this place is made for dreamers.

Laura Strong purchased this cabin in 2014

Why Laura Strong chose Glacier Park

This is a new venture for us as we head towards retirement age. After working for other companies in the hospitality industry, I thought it was time I put my own identity into sharing this wonderful valley with travelers. Kevin and I have applied our joint talents to redesigning this property into a welcoming, cozy camp for you. It is a work in progress, but I imagine I'll be saying that 10 years from now as well. Our home is located on the property, along with Kevin's cabinet shop, next to our 4 rental cabins, so we are available if you have questions or problems.

What makes this cabin unique

Our location is so perfect to access every activity in the area- but especially Glacier National Park. We are in the northeast corner of the Flathead Valley just before the entrance to the canyon leading to Glacier. You are 15 minutes from the Park, but also only 10 minutes from Whitefish, an easy 20 minute drive to amazing Flathead Lake, and minutes from several award winning golf courses. We have three different public fishing accesses on Flathead River within 4.5 miles of us- 2 are within one mile. Whitewater rafting on the fabulous Middle Fork of the Flathead River is located in West Glacier only 15 miles up the road.

Cutest Cabin Close to Everything We Wanted

  • 5 of 5

On our trip to several National Parks in this area of the country we stayed in several cabins. This was the best one. It was very clean and decorated beautifully. The setting was restful. The cabin provided everything we needed and wanted. We also travelled with our 2 dogs and the accommodations were wonderful with a large green area to walk them. The location was perfect. It was close to Glacier National Park as well as Whitefish. We discovered a neat whisky distillery close by and had a great experience there. That was a first for us. We travelled to Whitefish daily, very close by, with a huge assortment of shops and restaurants. I would highly recommend this group of cabins to anyone travelling in this area.

What A Great Place

  • 5 of 5

Trapline Cabins, for the two of us, was a perfect choice for our 8 day stay in the Flathead Valley. 15 minutes or less from the west entrance to Glacier NP, the airport, and downtown Whitefish. Doesn't get any more convenient than that if you're here to hike, ski, hunt, or fish. The cabins have been completely remodeled by some VERY talented proprietors and look brand new. Our cabin was very tastefully decorated, complete with local artisan products and some really good local photography. On arrival, our cabin was neat as a pin and clean. I mean immaculate clean. We felt comfortable the moment we walked through the door. The kitchen is complete with just about anything you'd need to cook dinner if you get sick of going out. The shower is awesome with great water pressure and plenty hot. Perfect after hiking. The owners paid attention to every detail of our stay from booking to departure. They're loaded with local knowledge and are more than happy to share it. And if you need a dog fix like we did, they have a beautiful yellow Lab, Toby, who is also more than willing to help you out. We can't say enough about the accommodations. Like I said, a great place and also a great value. We will most definitely be staying at Trapline Cabins on our next trip to the Flathead, you should too.

We are conveniently located just 15 minutes from the airport, 15 min. from Whitefish, 15 min. from Glacier National Park, 30 minutes from the shores of beautiful Flathead Lake. We are just 1 mile from downtown Columbia Falls where you can dine, find groceries and all other necessities. Flathead River is a short 1/2 mile walk from your door. World class golfing is available at several courses in the valley.

We love living in the "Last Best Place" where you can still find wild adventures. White water raft down the Middle Fork of the Flathead River. Fly fishing abounds in area rivers and streams. Backpack, hike, or horseback in Glacier National Park. Visit one of our less traveled wilderness access areas- Jewel Basin, Hungry Horse reservoir, Great Bear, or Bob Marshall Wilderness.

Mountain Bikers will love the Whitefish trail system or enjoy barreling the downhill runs at Whitefish Mountain Resort. Whitefish Mtn. also offers zip lining, hiking, and other fun activities.

Just tell us what your interests are and chances are we know someone who can give you the grand tour. We've been here for decades and have been enjoying all the Flathead has to offer. Let us help you plan the perfect vacation customized for you!
