Sustainable Luxury With Park & Ocean Views from Every Room and Terrace

Bedrooms 5
Separate WC's2
Space 6,000 sq. ft.
Property type villa
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

5 private suites, each with beautiful views of the pacific ocean.

This villa blends nature and luxury to give you a true tropical life-style vacation. Enjoy spectacular views from the great room with floor to ceiling windows opening to the Park and Ocean, and the pool in the foreground. The many terraces and suites flow to create options for comfortable outdoor living or air-conditioned indoor living, sustainably.

Enjoy the great room and rooftop terrace for gathering as a family or group, along with the privacy of several master-style suites for sleeping, each with views and unique tropical decor.

Choose cooking and dining indoors in the great room or alfresco on the rooftop terrace with our covered outdoor kitchen, fully equipped. Or, a chef can prepare a gourmet meal for you in either space. You always have a table with a view.

Our location offers easy access to the park, beaches, stores, restaurants and world class fishing grounds from the Marina Pez Vela. Wildlife is abundant here at the Villa and the surrounding area.

A multi-level design affords ocean and rainforest views from all rooms and spaces. The Bird of Paradise Suite with its terrace is on the first level. One level up, the main level includes the great room, kitchen, the Surf Suite and Monkey Room. The Hibiscus Suite, with balcony, is above the great room. The uppermost level has the rooftop terrace, outdoor kitchen, and Canopy Suite. There is access between the great room area and the upper level, by both interior and exterior stairs, so all the areas flow together.

This villa is unique in the Manuel Antonio area in its sustainable features. We make use of natural resources by using the sun to heat the water, dry the clothes, and even cool the house by evaporation. When electricity is used, it comes first from our solar panels, then the local utilities. You'll still have the luxury of all the usual comforts while feeling good about having a minimal carbon footprint vacation.

A car is not necessary for guests who enjoy walking. The walk up our street is about 300 yards to the main road. From there, the National Park and its beaches are to the right, downhill, about a mile. Or go left and select from our great surfing beach or another calm white sand snorkeling beach and kayaking bay, each about a half mile. Our home is about 360 feet above sea level. Ask us to email our PDF local map and walking guide! As alternatives to walking, taxis and the local bus are readily available to take you to your destination. Our concierge Alberto will help with any transportation needs.

A grocery store and many restaurant options are nearby on the walkable, level main road. Select from local, North American, Asian fusion, and Caribbean cuisine, some with live music and big screen sports bars. Enjoy great steaks and seafood, or opt for pizza and hot dogs or vegetarian dishes, soups and sandwiches. Choices range from romantic and pricey to family style—or hire a local chef to prepare a meal to remember right in the villa!

Wildlife is abundant on our property and surrounding our property. While we cannot guarantee what wildlife you may see during your stay, this is a list of the kinds of species which have been observed on our property, and which you might encounter. Capuchin Monkeys, Titi Monkeys, Howler Monkeys, Sloths, Cotamundi, Jaguarundi, Raccoons, Porcupines, Mot Mot Birds, Toucans, Hummingbirds, Kiskadees, Wild Parrots, Wild Canaries, Iguanas, Jesus Christ Lizards, Frogs of various types and colors including chameleon frogs, Blue Morpho Butterlies, Geckos, and a variety of “glow in the dark” insects, including fireflies.

Could not have asked for more! Simply amazing!!

  • 5 of 5

From start to finish our family had the most fantastic stay at this villa. Every room has ocean view, cool air and tropical ambience. Alberto was attentive and fabulous, and the chef Randy made the most delicious and authentic Costa Rican meals. The housekeeper was super sweet and made us feel like royality. I cannot say enough about the staff, the villa and the monkey friends we made. It's also close to everything, the beaches, the tours, the national park and markets. Our family will defitnely stay here again when we return to Manual Antonio. Again many thanks to Alberto, Randy and the owners of such a magnificent property. Pura Vida!

Awesome view!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mirador Magnifico the week of March 14-21. We are a family of 10 celebrating my parents' 70th birthdays. Ages of 4 kids ranged from 5-12. There was more than enough space and my girls who are the oldest, even got their own room. We didn't even utilize the downstairs room which had a nice balcony. The house is split level so there are a lot of stairs though that didn't bother us at all.

Alberto saw to all our grocery needs, taxi's, etc. Thank you so much for everything you did! Our housekeeper was fabulous! Clean towels and sheets daily. We felt like we were in a 5 star private resort!

The pool was our highlight at the end of the day after excursions and the beach. It was warm at night after the sun went down and cool when it was blazing. It probably has one of the most awesome views of the ocean on the street. We were visited daily by Capuchins and Titi monkeys. We loved seeing them play on the ropes and in the trees. We saw a Pesota (sp?) sneak on the deck only once and heard Howler monkeys every morning. Lots of wild parrots and colorful birds flew by constantly. We truly felt we were in a rain forest!

Less than a 10 minute walk to the main street with several good restaurants and shopping. It took my family of 4 about 30 minutes to walk downhill to the nearest beach and $10 to ask a local to take us back! I do think it is the prettiest beach with not a lot of people and wonderful photo ops with huge jagged rocks. Just ask the local beach chair guy to call a cab for you. The more popular beach with restaurants and parasailing was nice as well - just a bit crowded. However, its easy to walk across the street for dinner.

Overall, our stay was wonderful! Beautiful house, great staff, magnificent view!

Dean - thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!

I would recommend this house to anyone visiting Manuel Antonio!

We recently stayed at the house for a week and had a wonderful time. It is even more beautiful than the photos suggest. Alberto was so helpful and kind. We didn't need a car. The bus line is close and many restaurants within walking distance. I highly recommend this property!

Extraordinary service

  • 5 of 5

Alberto and Junior made out visit so very special. We were there with friends to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday and the service was nothing short of extraordinary. Alberto, the house manager, was always available, arranged everything from taxi's, to catered dinners, to kayaking in the mangroves and even cutting down the huge banana leaves so i would have unobstructed views of the monkeys. Junior prepared breakfasts and dinners for us which were not only amazing to look at but so delicious. Banana pancakes and juevos rancheros for breakfast and a whole red snapper warpped in a banana leave with spices. It was the service that made our birthday celebration so special.

As if the views weren't spectacular enough...

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful abode was home to welcoming furnishings, comfortable, well appointed bedrooms, a lovely kitchen, and a plethora of accessories both necessary and wonderfully extraneous. it was just as fab coming back to the house after a long day of exploring Manuel Antonio as it was relaxing there on slower paced days. Our house manager Alberto went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and secured wonderful day trips and excursions on our behalf. And watching the troops of capuchins was a treat I don't see forgetting anytime soon. A great environment for groups big or small.

The Perfect Getaway. Pura Vida!!

  • 5 of 5

Our active family of 4 (2 adults, 2 youth ,age 14 and 11yrs) stayed at El Mirador Magnifico for 9 days . I have to say it was our best vacation ever! The mountains, lush tropical surroundings, abundant wildlife right around the villa , several nearby beaches, ocean, awesome restaurants within walking distance and lots of adventure made for an unforgettable time. The villa itself was beautiful and had so many unique touches all around. Nice and cool while still being eco-friendly. Kids loved having their own rooms and bathrooms. The upper rooms do get loud with night time rains, just an FYI. We moved to the lower rooms if needed. The view I will never forget....cried when I took my last look! We were visited by monkeys several times a day and were also greeted by a sloth and many interesting creatures every morning and night. We did not rent a car, and would not advise it. Driving is crazy and this location is close to everything! Get ready for lots of uphill walks..not that anyone ever complained :) If motion sick, take meds! Take a flashlight to navigate better after sunset, which happens early. Large umbrellas are provided. We enjoyed coffee on the upper deck every morning, watching the monkeys and listening to the crashing waves in the distance. Breakfast and lunch was included in some tours and supper was a new experience every night. So many fantastic restaurants within minutes walk. Awesome service and good portions. Our favourites were Emelio's café, the Falafel bar, Barba Roja and Café Milagro. The Costa Rican people were so friendly both on tours and in restaurants. We did many tours....ADR 10 in 1 adventure, Ziplining with El Santurio, Mangrove Kayak tour with Iguana tours and The Manuel Antonio park tour with Iguana Tours. All of these were easily arranged the day before with our wonderful concierge, Alberto. He offered lots of assistance and good advice while still respecting our privacy. Alberto walked with us to the nearby beaches and gave us tips on getting around. Playa Espadilla offers excellent boogie boarding but you are approached a lot by vendors and pay $5 per lounge chair, but still worth it. Playa Biesanz was more peaceful and calm. We also walked down to Playa Playitas, accessed thru Arenas del Mar ..go to the entrance and they drive you to the beach on a golf cart! Never got a chance to eat lunch there on the beach..next time! I highly recommend this villa, and would also not hesitate going in rainy season either :)
