the property has been past down from generation to generation since 1925 when my grandfather bought the property to today and my wife Barbara and I Thomas Ehrhard are the proud owners we would be most happy to have other people enjoy the beauty and serenity this place
My husband and I plus our children ages 12 and 10 stayed at this property for our vacation this summer. The best feature about this home is its location. Five houses down from the lake clubhouse and lakefront with gorgeous mountain, the gap and sunset views sets this home apart from other lake locations. The owners are very friendly, warm and helpful. If we are ever in the area, we would like to stop by just to say hello! The owners were there when we arrived for our first day, and we were able to reach them on their cell phones for any needs, which were few:) The home is also WIFI enabled which is very convenient in this day and age. We really loved hanging out on their waterfront patio, sunning, lunching, swimming, watching the lake action and discovering some of the wildlife on the lake (2 bald eagles, herons, loons:)) The inside of the home was a little damp and there is no air conditioning which made it a little uncomfortable to sleep a couple of nights that were hot with no breeze. When the temp. dips below 70 in the evening and with a little breeze, it is quite comfortable to sleep. We found the beds comfortable and it was nice that all the bedding and bath towels were provided. My son Really Really loved the Xbox game they had available--thank you!!!! He does not have games like that, so this was a treat! One afternoon I enjoyed snoozing in the lakeside hammock. We also appreciated the use of their kayak and canoe with life preservers on site. The owners let us know about some nearby bakeries, towns and activities. We really like The Yellow Cottage Bakery, Firehouse Bagels, Waggin Tails Pet shop for gifts for our neighbor's dogs, the town of Newton, Sparta and the clubhouse for the beach and fun activities such as Bingo night, ping pong, movie night, good priced food and meeting other people on the lake. We are thankful that the owners told us about the Appalachian Trail which follows the ridge of the mountain range seen across the lake from their home. My husband and children walked the trail from sunrise mountain which featured some spectacular views. The property was a great fit for us to get to know and enjoy the lake and find out a bit more about Lake Culver. The owners were wonderful to work with and we thank them for letting us rent their home!
New Jersey State Fair this year is on August 5 to 13 at the FAIRGROUNDS off route 206 south Just few miles south from the lake.
