Really nice place to get away from it all

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay. The place lived up to its headline of cozy and private.

It was cozy and private, nice and peacefull

  • 5 of 5

We loved this cabin, it made our Thanksgiving very memorable. We would love to stay here again. This cabin looks better in person - pictures don't do it justice. Our party of six plus dinner guests of 4 more nestled quite fine in this cabin. This cabin is tucked away off the beaten path. Once you get here you will love it. It is close to the grocery in Hayesville 20 min or less travel time. The stream below the cabin is soothing and is a great place to relax. The cabin had wifi which was perfect for us but no cell service here. We did have a land line for local calls though. I'd like to thank the caretakers for assisting us with our questions and concerns.

A nice setting but could use some upgrades...

  • 3 of 5

We loved the house and location, minus the big trout falling from the ceiling and knocking the tv cables off during the middle of the night and the smoke alarm beeping another night (the battery needs to be changed). We were able to get the tv working but the cables still need attention I believe. Speaking of TV's I would recommend a large screen TV. It seems a shame to have such a nice house and a small TV. Also I would highly recommend putting the street address in a prominent location. With it being our first visit we stopped at every house along the way looking for the correct house. The houses do not sit on the road so you have to go down each steep driveway to see what the address on the house is. There are no mailboxes to indicate this since the houses are rentals. Since there is no cell phone reception there it is difficult to pull it up on the phone. You don't realize there is no reception until you get there and turning around on a one lane road is a bear unless you want to go to the next driveway. Also did I miss something in a communication about the lockbox? We could not find it. It's not on the door but across from the door in a discreet location. We had to drive back down the road to get a signal and call the caretaker to find out where the lockbox is located. Needless to say after a long 6 hour drive, we were not ready to deal with this... I would recommend getting toppers for the beds. Also, I would recommend a humidifier for the downstairs as it has a strong smell of mildew. I realize this happens to basements but some people may be highly allergic to it. On a positive note the the house is well decorated and is in a quiet location. We may return now that we know how to get there...

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review! We have updated the info in the App with all the pertinent driving info and if the renter chooses not to use the app we will gladly give them detailed directions. There is actually a house number on the house but it is not easy to see if you arrive after dark. We will be putting an additional one on the tree . I'm sorry the fish fell, leather got old! It has been repaired. Batteries have been changed in detectors so no more beeping! We will take into consideration the TV and the dehumidifier. Hope you will join us again. Thank You Owners

The cabin was great! It rained the whole weekend, but we it didn't matter. We waded in the creek, went for walks and played games. There was plenty of room for people to spread out and have privacy. The owners were fantastic to work with and quick to respond. We enjoyed everything! Thanks.

Wonderful place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We wanted to get away to the mountains for a couple days and found this house. It was a great find! The house was clean and well kept and decorated very cute. The property manager was very personable and happy to help us. We enjoyed cooking hot dogs and smores down by the creek. Our highlight was a picnic lunch, hike, and playing with the kids in the creek at the Fires Creek Recreational Area approx. 8 miles from the house. We also took the advice of another review and ate dinner at Rib Country, which was excellent.

This cabin was much more than expected. Nice little creek below a lot of steps to go up and down. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone.
