Excellent option for a group

  • 5 of 5

The home was well furnished and met our needs. The multiple sleeping options on the 2nd and 3rd floor gave lots of room to spread out and accommodate individuals. Even the angled shower on the third floor worked out and provided interesting stories on how the taller folk angled themselves to adapt. We appreciated the cookware, dishes and storage options in the kitchen which worked well for the cooks that provided excellent meals. One caveat: the french press coffee maker was not to most of our liking. It would have been great for 2 or 3 folks but 7 people needing multiple cups of coffee to start the morning found it eventually to be just irritating. It would be useful to have a basic coffeemaker provided or to advise renters to bring their own if the charm of a french press is lost on them.

Comfortable and Charming

  • 5 of 5

David and Becky were such great hosts. The 132 year old "Brictorian" has been updated and our group of 8 throughly enjoyed ourselves. Would definitely recommend.

Fabulous house for relaxing, and fabulous home base for adventures!

  • 5 of 5

We spent 5 nights here, and didn't have any complaints. The kitchen is updated and had everything we needed to cook breakfasts & lunches (and a dishwasher for cleanup). Furniture was comfy, and there was easily enough seating for the four of us in whichever room we ended up. The second floor bathroom is huge, which made it easy for three women to share (my sister had the third floor bathroom to herself, which only seemed fair since she had the extra flight of stairs!).

The house is within easy walking distance of downtown, and has a great view. We spent a lot of our time looking for sapphires, and it was nice to come back to the house to clean up and relax a bit before heading to town to find dinner (the UPNSMOKIN BBQ House is awesome, by the way, and The Daily Grind has good sandwiches with a quiet, shady patio).
