Enjoy the fantastic views from this comfortable home on McCalley's Creek. Catch shrimp, fish, and crabs from the dock or simply sit and watch the porpoises swim by. The 10x20 floating dock can accommodate most any size boat and the community boat landing is just a minute away. Bring your boat, waverunners, or kayaks and enjoy!
The house is close to Beaufort and Parris Island and it's an easy drive to the beach. All the furniture is new as of May 2015 and the house has a very relaxed feel. The house sleeps 10+ with four bedrooms Two bedrooms are on the main level (both with queen beds) and two bedrooms are upstairs (one with queen beds and a daybed and another with two twins and a daybed), There are three bathrooms as well as a fourth bathroom under the house.
NOTE: Linens ARE provided (sheets, towels, etc.) as are paper towels, toilet paper, dishwashing detergent, etc.
The screened in back porch is very comfortable and has a ceiling fan to provide a breeze as you unwind at the end of the day. The front porch has four rocking chairs if you prefer relax that way.
The house has cable tv (with Showtime) and Wi-Fi internet service. Of course, you probably won't use much of either with all the entertainment options that Beaufort provides.
The house is an easy drive to Parris Island for graduation. In fact, my youngest son graduated from PI in December 2012 and is currently stationed in Okinawa! So, yes, I am very pro-military.
No Smoking in the house, please
I grew up in Beaufort (working on a shrimp boat..believe it or not), graduated from high school here and graduated from the University of South Carolina. I've lived in England and many states in the US. However, I am happiest in the Beaufort and call the Low Country home. Even though I travel much of the time for work, I bought this house so my two boys could experience growing up on the water. I think all kids should have the experience of building castles on a sand bar, catching blue crabs on a string, and swimming in a saltwater creek.
William Howerton purchased this house in 2005
My best friend in high school (and still one of my best friends to this day) grew up in the house next to this house. In fact, I helped his family build their house! So, when this house became available in 2005 it was an easy decision to buy it. I spent many hours in the saltwater creek and buying this house was like "coming home". This has always been a kid friendly neighborhood and is a great place for people of all ages.
Being on deep water has all the advantages you would. Shrimp, fish and crabs are easily available to catch. You can sit under the covered dock and just watch the tide roll away as you relax in the to the sounds of wildlife. In the morning you can drink coffee on the covered porch and watch the sunrise. The colors of the sunrise in Beaufort are truly beautiful. I could write about the serenity of being on the water all day. However, it is something that has to be experienced to be understood.
Perfect place for our family. 6 adults, 2 children - 11 & 13. Plenty of room for everyone to relax and enjoy the peaceful setting. The deep water dock was great for fishing. Grandchildren had a blast. Easy access to all the places we wanted to visit. The only negative comment - "we had to leave." Highly recommend this home for a low-country stay.
There was plenty of space for 7 adults and an infant. We were in the area for our sons graduation from Parria Island. It was nice to relax on the dock in the sunshine in the afternoon. Close to lots of great restaurants and downtown/waterfront area.
Beautiful home tucked away near the water. Private dock, awesome porch and a screened in patio overlooking the water. incredible sunrise and views. We really enjoyed our stay and definately would come again. I only wish we could have stayed more than 3 nights. We came down for my nephew's graduation from boot camp. The owner, Bill, is very accommodating and left us lots of information about Beaufort, restaurants, surrounding areas and directions to Parris Island. Only complaint are the gnats or sand fleas? that are all over the island! Bring your repellant!
Three retired couples that enjoyed the stay at your VRBO home. House is very well equipped and very clean. The deep water dock was a plus for the fishermen. Bill, thanks again for the use of your facilities and your excellent customer service.
Very clean home with breathtaking views from the pier!! Plenty of space for my family to sit, relax and enjoy each other'S company!! We are already planning another trip back!!!
