Just perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Incredibly peaceful location with stunning views of the Loch . The cottage felt very spacious for our family of four , and we felt quite at home. Gorgeous to be making a fire on the beach while the children played, just idyllic .

Lovely, cosy well equipped cottage

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at the cottage with my parents (coming from France) and our two young children over Christmas and New year. We had a lovely time, the cottage is so well equipped and very peaceful and cosy. We enjoyed the lovely views from the lounge and even had fireworks for Hogmanay (thanks to the neighbours) !! The cottage is really well situated, not far from the shops and Inverness. We definitively want to go back, in spring or summer to enjoy the beaches and woods around the cottage more. Christmas tree, biscuits and milk waiting for us on arrival and other basics to get us started ! lovely touch from Turan and Iain. Would definitively recommend to anyone wanting either some peaceful time away from everything or wanting to travel around to discover the area.

Beautiful Loch side location

  • 4 of 5

We had a lovely stay at the cottage. The setting by the Loch is absolutely beautiful. The cottage itself is very warm with the central heating, it was very clean and well equipped. Turan was a great host who forewarned us that the washing machine would not be working for part of our stay. This was not an issue for us but it was nice to be told in advance. The one thing which would turn the cottage from great to perfect would be the addition of curtains to shut out the cold dark winter nights. We will certainly recommend the cottage to others and would stay again.

Owner's Response: Thanks Melissa - we're delighted you loved The Cottage and its amazing location and would recommend it to others. Also pleased to hear you found it warm, clean and well-equipped. We chose blinds rather than curtains because the new windows keep the cottage very warm and blinds can be fully opened to show the amazing views day and night. Not sure having blinds rather than curtains stops it being a 5 star cottage though (that's our usual rating). I'm glad the new washing machine not arriving until part way through your week was not a problem for you. We'd love to welcome you back. Many thanks for your visit and kind words. Turan

Lovely Cottage, Great Location and all the amenities on site to make a great holiday.

  • 5 of 5

The owners of the property have made this cottage a delightful place to stay and I would recommend it to anyone seeking peace and quiet in a beautiful setting. The cottage overlooks the loch and is one of the best holidays I have ever had in Scotland.

Owner's Response: Wow - Steve, thanks for the fantastic review. The Cottage certainly worked its magic on you. We agree that it is a unique place, right on the Loch (no road in front of the cottage like so many others) and are delighted to hear you feel we thought of everything to make it a place for unforgettable holidays. That's our aim. Many thanks - Turan

Lovely

  • 4 of 5

Quiet little cottage close to the shore of Loch Ness. A small shop and café in Foyers, the next village along, plus nice walks to the Falls of Foyers, and in Farigaig Forest. Inverness is about 25 minutes drive away, Ben Nevis about an hour.

Kids and dog loved the beach, not so happy about the midges, but that's Scotland.

Well appointed kitchen so didn't need to bring sharp knives or caffetiere.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the great review Ben. Delighted you all loved the beach and the cottage and that you found the kitchen well-equipped. We tried to think of everything guests might need. I see you met the Scottish midges - yes - that's Scotland - but some years are better than others. This year is not so bad actually. They don't like everyone, and Skin So Soft from Avon keeps them away from many people who don't like using insect repellent. Many thanks for your visit and we hope you take away many happy memories of this magical place. Thanks - Turan

The Cottage has its own private beach which is ideal for BBQs and breath-taking sunsets. Within minutes of The Cottage there are other lochs, mountains and forests to explore. The wildlife in the area will also amaze you with many bird species, deer, pine martens, osprey, woodpeckers, red squirrels, bats and at night you are guaranteed to hear the occasional owl. Nearby Loch Ruthven is an impressive bird reserve and dolphins are seen all year at Chanonry Point on the Black Isle (40 mins away). The Cottage is an ideal base for touring everything the Highlands have to offer.

Fishing is allowed from either of The Cottage's private beaches. Visitors regularly catch brown trout and occasionally salmon. Sunbathing is also possible on the shingle beach some weeks of the year ! Please note, the steps down to one of the beaches are a little steep and there is a hand rail to help. The beaches are not suitable for people with mobility problems.
