This is a vacation home we purchased in 2014. After several upgrades to the property, we wanted others to experience the relaxed atmosphere of the "burbs" of Cripple Creek. We maintain the cabin as we would expect a property to be maintained, clean, neat and comfortable.
Louise & Jim Noble purchased this cabin in 2014
Sitting on the deck, you will witness what few do as the golden eagles soar overhead, the deer and fox walk through the yard, all in a very relaxing atmosphere. With the historic town of Cripple Creek only 6 miles away, you can still be in the hub of town or the peaceful serenity of the cabin.
This home can be a home away-from-home for two couples comfortably. With a second kitchenette on the lower level, each couple can enjoy their own privacy and yet be together.
This place is absolutely gorgeous! The location was perfect. I wanted peace and quiet and had that in abundance. Can't not recommend sitting on the deck and drinking your morning coffee any stronger than you just have to experience it.
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful house and your hospitality with me.
We enjoyed the cabin-was disappointed that we could not get any regular TV channels. We like to watch news and football on Sunday but we could not find any channels to watch except Hula and Netflix. Other than that we had a great vacation. Cabin had a wonderful view. Cabin is beautiful and spacious. Thanks for sharing your home with us. Would give this a five star except for the TV situtation
From the moment we got to the Independence we absolutely loved it! Communication was easy and accessible with no problems! We were amazed at the views from every spot in this beautiful home! It was super clean and we wanted and needed for nothing. We will definitely be coming back next year and can't wait to sit on the beautiful deck and watch the awesome sunrises and sunsets! Thank you for such a memorable mini vacation!
Our stay was short but we absolutely loved the time at the Independence... it was the perfect weekend get-away! The 2 separate living areas worked out so well with our group with the early birds upstairs and the late sleepers downstairs. The wrap around deck was the hangout in the afternoon and the grill was used in the evening. The home was very comfortable and had everything we could possibly need. Louise was an exceptional hostess and was super quick to answer any questions we had. Thanks for a memorable weekend!
The most beautiful accomodations.Spacious beautifully decorated, peaceful and quiet. Truly the best I have ever rented and I come up here every year. No other rental or hotel stay could compare. Thanks so much for allowing us to stay in your home!
Our family of 5 enjoyed our family vacation in Cripple Creek. The Independence was very comfortable and had everything we needed! The views from the deck are amazing. We met Jim and Louise and they are very nice people. The Independence is a great location, just an hour or so from lots of things to do. While in Colorado we went to the Molly Kathleen Mine, railroad station museum, other historical buildings, visitors center and shopping in Cripple Creek, Royal Gorge, Garden of Gods, Helen Hunt Falls, Air Force Academy, Rafting (Buena Vista with River Runners), ziplining (Salida with Captain Zipline), Breckenridge to shop and to St Marys Glacier and waterfall (Idaho Springs). We would love to return to Colorado to explore even more. Be sure to go to the Molly Kathleen Mine, it is an awesome experience and we learned a lot. The ride down is 1,000 ft and only takes 2.5 minutes so even if you don't like tight spaces go for it. The Glacier and waterfall in Idaho Springs is a bit of a drive and a bit of a hike (less than a mile but all up hill) but take your time and your water and you won't be disappointed. The trail is not marked as you climb to the top but just ask those that are coming down. We went in the rain and there were still several people on the trail. The water fall is not marked either but it is less than half way up you will have to choose to go right (level area to right) or straight ahead and the water fall is to the right at end of the level pathway (not very far). Sounds crazy but i think you will be able to figure out what i am talking about as the rest of the trail is uphill and the flat area is to the right. The waterfall is awesome.
