Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi Diane,

I wanted to confirm that the 500 was credited back to my card- I just pulled up my statement. Thank you.

Also, you have a great property that we will stay at again and recommend to friends. It was so relaxing by the pool and on the porch in the evening. Great to be in the outdoors and away from it all! Thanks again!

Graduation Weekend

  • 5 of 5

Had a great visit for my son's graduation from UVA Law. House was clean and very well equipped. Two sets of grandparents, my wife and I, plus three grown sons were comfortable with ample space to spread out. Spent most of the weekend on large screened in porch. Boys enjoyed the big yard and swimming pool. Great spot!

Lovely house in a great setting

  • 5 of 5

The house is wonderfully decorated. The screened in porch is an awesome place to sit and relax or eat a meal. The grounds are beautiful. There is so much to do around the house. My favorite was James Monroe's house. The jacuzzi tub is wonderful to relax in after a long day hiking. We certainly plan to rent this place again.

A Family-Friendly Breath of Fresh Air

  • 5 of 5

Down a slightly windy, quiet road in remote Virginia, pure relaxations awaits. This home was equal distance between our home in SC, and my brother's home in PA, and suited the needs of our extended 8-member family perfectly (ranging from 17-months to 70-years-old). Our favorite areas were the dining room with a table large enough to seat us all and the screened porch...huge and compy. Luckily, we planned ahead and brought most of our meals because the nearest grocery that we found was about 20 minutes away. We also enjoyed the privacy of the home- not a neighbor in site! From the screened porch, we did enjoy a peek of a mountain view though, and through the picture frame window in the dining room, we watched 4 deer taking a leisurely morning walk. We made day trips to Shenandoah National Park, Monticello, and Charlottesville Main St. area (which has lots of restaurants and a free trolley that takes you to and around UVA's campus- but don't listen to the Garmin when it tells you to turn onto Main Stree in the downtown area... it is now just an eating/walking area 😬)... all about 30-ish minutes from the house. This home is well cared for and more stocked with the "comforts of home" than any other place we've rented. LOTS of cooking spices, pots, pans, etc... even Fine China if you are feeling fancy! This house is huge, welcoming, and hard to leave when the stay is over. One small downer... it is remote, so wifi is available, but it is advised that limited data is used.

We loved the house

  • 5 of 5

I was looking for a house to have a family reunion with my four adult children, 3 grandkids a niece and grandniece. a place where we could enjoy each other's company, swim and play games. This house fit the bill exactly. We all loved it. We lived in the screened in porch and swimming pool. The house is old and quaint and has everything you need for cooking. The next time I get all my family together we will definitely come back.

Great Summer Vacation

  • 5 of 5

At Clarington House my family and I had a great family vacation. The summer is perfect for a place like this. We had the opportunity to enjoy the pool after spending a long day visiting new places. The house is well equipped with everything that you need to be very comfortable. A beautiful place to enjoy with family and friends.
