This little hidden gem is perfectly situated behind a Historic Spanish Duplex. It is a 1BR, 1BA home with privacy, courtyards, one car garage, and laundry. Cool concrete floors, fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, large bedroom with french door to courtyard, full bath with large bathtub. Walk to Sunset Blvd. or walk to dog park and stop by a cafe on the way. Excellent SL location!
Hi Everyone! I am proud to say I was born and raised in this lovely city of Los Angeles. One of the few Natives you will meet. My husband and I love hosting and take pride in what we do. As a local real estate agent, this is right up my alley!
Gisele Plouffe purchased this cottage in 2000
This is a great property because of its location as well as how cool it is! You can walk into the "village" area of Silver Lake on your way around the lake or to dog park. The other direction is Sunset Blvd. with all of its offerings. This is a great private house, with cafe lit courtyards. It is like a home away from home. Completely quiet and secluded.
The exterior night lighting makes it all worth it hear. There are cafe lit ivy covered courtyards surrounding the home.
This is a great little cottage on a private lot in the back of another property that fronts to Silver Lake Blvd. One bedroom, one bath, kitchen with dining area and large living room. Private patio and garage. Very clean and well maintained, nicely furnished. Tons of restaurants and shops within walking distance. Fresh flowers and a welcoming note upon arrival. We will definitely be back!
My husband and I stayed at the Silver Lake cottage with our dog for three nights in August for our anniversary. I used to live in LA, so I'm familiar with the area, and the cottage is right in the middle of everything you would want to visit in LA. We walked to nearby Milk, Lamill Coffee, Hache, Muddy Paw, Night + Song Market, and the list goes on and on. It's also a reasonable drive to West LA and Pasadena. Like I said, in the middle of everything! Giselle provided everything we needed for our stay, including extra towels, tea, cookware, fresh flowers, a super comfy bed, extra cozy blankets and pillows, and even a personalized note with contact phone numbers. The only (minor) complaint that we had was that it was clear other dogs had stayed there before, as our dog went crazy sniffing the rugs, and the floors were swept, but maybe could have used a quick once-over with a mop. We love to travel with our dog though, and we really appreciate VRBO owners who allow dogs. Next time we're back in LA (which is often), we would love to stay with Giselle again. Thank you!
This quaint cottage set back off the road was perfect for my husband, me, and our two pups who came to town for the Dodgers/Phillies series. Getting back and forth to the stadium was so easy and there were plenty of places to walk in the neighborhood. Great to have off street parking. Our dogs were huge fans of the private outdoor area for basking in the sun. Living room has A/C, bedroom does not, but even in the summer it wasn't too hot in the bedroom at night with the windows open and fan on. The cottage was clean and comfortable and Gisele let us know she was available for anything we needed. Overall exactly what we were looking for!
Very nice, clean and cute yard house! We stayed a family of four, two adults and two kids, and it was perfect. Bed room super nice and the kids slept well in the bed sofa in living room/hall. Kitchen small but we could seat four persons, but mostly we ate breakfast out in patio anyway, very nice! Close to Universal Studios etc, and Silver Lake is a nice area with some great restaurants and food trucks, just what we like. A quiet area and we felt safe all the time. Thanks a lot, we had a wonderful stay!
We stayed a week here while visiting our daughter, and very much enjoyed the quiet secluded cottage, especially the nice shady patio area. The bed was very comfortable, the kitchen nicely equipped, and all supplies needed were provided. We look forward to staying here again soon!! As Gisele mentioned to us, only a very small car can turn around in the parking area, and our daughter's Prius had to back out onto Silver Lake, but that was a very minor problem, and did not detract from our visit at all. Enjoyed shopping for a wedding gift at OK, just up the street, and browsed several other nice shops. Also, there's a great wine shop just a block away on Silver Lake Blvd.
The cottage was a very comfortable and affordable way to stay in the Silver Lake/Echo Park area. Being able to do some meals "at home" avoided having to eat out all the time; the kitchen is well equipped and the side deck is a great place for drinks or dinner at the end of the day. The neighborhood has a 7-11, liquor store and excellent ice cream at Milk within walking distance; outstanding dining options within a short drive. We were able to get rather easily from Silver Lake to Griffith Park, Huntington Gardens, Getty Center, Santa Monica, downtown etc. Helps to have Google Maps or GPS to avoid the worst traffic spots. Giselle is a pleasure to deal with, and responded promptly when I managed to misplace a key our first day. (Duh) Highly recommend the cottage to any couple looking for a convenient base of operations in LA. Tip: Rent the smallest car you can; the driveway is a great thing to have but is narrow!
