Sugar Hill - 2 bedroom self-catering penthouse, sleeps 4 -Beach Club Membership

Located on the Sugar Hill estate which is situated on fifty acres of gently sloping landscaped gardens overlooking the Caribbean Sea with elegant private homes. Facilities include tennis courts, fully-equipped gym, two swimming pools, a central clubhouse with restaurant and bar. There is a resident professional tennis coach available and regular clinics. Membership of the Fairmont Royal Pavilion Beach Club.

Accommodation consists of master bedroom with Super King sized bed (7ft) and AC. Separate bathroom with walk-in shower. Second bedroom consists of King sized bed (6ft) which can be separated into two single beds, with en-suite shower and AC. Fully equipped kitchen. Lounge with satellite Plasma TV, DVD player (plays UK & US DVDs), CD player/radio. Wireless Internet connection. Dining area sufficient for entertaining six people. Additional dining area and barbecue situated on the roof terrace with jacuzzi, sun beds and views of the Caribbean Sea. Ceiling fans are fitted throughout. Maid service provided.

About Sue & Paul Robinson

We first visited Barbados in 1992 and fell in love with the island. As we kept coming back every year since, we decided it would be a dream fulfilled to purchase our first home in 2003. Three years later we decided to upsize and purchased a larger apartment, Star Gazer, in 2006! We have been very happy living on the Sugar Hill complex since 2003 and look forward to many more.

We decided to purchase at Sugar Hill as it is a beautifully designed apartment with roof terrace and within easy reach of the beach and Holetown. The complex provides all the facilities on your doorstep - swimming pools, tennis, gym and the restaurant and bar at the Clubhouse. We are members of the Royal Pavilion Beach Club which is also included in the rental price.

What makes this apartment unique

Our apartment is 'home from home' and we are always sad to leave but look forward to our next visit. The beautiful grounds are always kept immaculate and drinks at sundown on the roof terrace are a must! Our house manager and maid look after us and our guests extremely well.

Fantastic stay at Star Gazer

Our family of four stayed at Star Gazer between 1st & 15th September 2017 and enjoyed every minute. The apartment is set on a beautifully maintained complex with excellent facilities including multiple pools, tennis courts, gym, restaurant and bar, and is maintained by very friendly staff - Delphine was especially helpful. The apartment provided everything we could have wished for, with the roof terrace, hot tub and bbq adding a special bonus compared to other apartments we have stayed at in Barbados. The views from the roof were great with some particularly spectacular sunsets - I will miss watching the sun go down and the stars come up! The comprehensive internet TV was useful for when it rained, which wasn't that often.This was our second family holiday to Barbados and we met up with friends who were revisiting for their 25th wedding anniversary - Star Gazer provided the perfect location for a celebratory bbq, champagne and cake ! A car is essential, the apartment is easy to find and provided a perfect base from which to explore Barbados. Access to the Fairmont Royal Pavilion Hotel beach club through Sue and Paul's membership card was another great plus which we used several times as there was a beautiful beach, free sunbeds, fantastic restaurant with a great menu, very friendly staff and discounted rates on water sports hire. We noted the hotel was closing at the end of September for 1 months refurbishment and several restaurants had also closed for end of season vacations at this time e.g. Mullins beach restaurant and the Carizma on the Hill. Hole town provided the closest grocery shopping which will further improve when the new Massey store opens there. We found A1 supermarkets the most comprehensive, albeit further to travel. We had an end of holiday meal in The Tides restaurant in Hole town which we highly recommend - seated right next to the sea, the staff even sang happy birthday to us in unique Barbados style ! Overall we had a fantastic holiday at Star Gazer, we highly recommend it and look forward to returning whenever we next can.

Beautiful view from rooftop hot tub and great resort like facilities at Sugar Hill

Our family had a wonderful stay at Star Gazer and had the pleasure of being able to see 9 different firework displays happening along the waterfront on New Year's Eve from the rooftop hot tub! The outdoor table view is stunning and outdoor sofa was everyone's favourite spot for reading. The apartment had many games so we enjoyed game nights outside on the deck and enjoying the frogs night singing - we all love that sound and miss it when we come home. The wifi access worked great and the kids enjoyed the many movie and movie channel options when tired after a fun day at the beach. The facilities at Sugar Hill are really great and we made use of the gym daily and enjoyed both pools - one a couple minutes walk from the apartment and the other a beautiful infinity pool at the clubhouse. The Sugar Hill staff were very friendly as was the cleaning lady for the apartment. We ate at the clubhouse restaurant twice (BBQ night and Quiz night) and found the food delicious, prices much better than expected and drinks (mohitos! my favourite) great by the pool. The access to the Fairmont beach was awesome, calm waters for relaxing and swimming and the kids enjoyed the ping pong tables. The food and drinks (smoothies were the kids favourite) at the Fairmont were great as well. The apartment location at Sugar Hill was close to Holetown so it was easy to drive by car to get to the new Massey grocery store for anything we needed. Sue the owner was very helpful in suggesting a car rental place at the airport which worked out well and we enjoyed touring all over the island - from Crane beach to Oistins Friday fish fry. Thank you for a really great family vacation!

Lovely spacious apartment in a great setting

We really enjoyed our stay at Stargazer, it’s a lovely spacious apartment for 2, slightly more of a squeeze for 4 adults as there is only one bathroom but fine for families. The balcony was wonderful and we enjoyed many breakfasts and sundowners there. The top balcony has fabulous views and whilst it’s very hot we spent quite a few afternoons there. The resort is well tended with 2 beautiful pools and very convenient for all the west coast restaurants and particularly Holetown. The fairmont beach club was fairly average if you are beach lovers, but there are plenty of other options nearby.

We had a great time and would definitely return.

Amazing, Beautiful, welcoming & Perfect

Star Gazer was the perfect location for our holiday, beautiful & tranquil setting away from the hustle & bustle but only a few minutes drive from lively bars, restaurants & shops. The apartment, facilities & amenities were exactly as wete pictured & described, well appointed & spotless. On arrival the local agent made contact to welcome us. We would recommend a holiday in Barbados and would most definitely recommend staying at 'Star Gazer' - a wonderful apartment in a beautiful setting. The 'Fairmont Hotel' and beach and swimming with the 'Turtles' is a must. The Cliff, Cliff beach club and Tides were lovely fine dining restaurants and visits to Just Grilling and The Blue Anchor are a must. Negotiatie an Island Tour with a local cabbie ..... the Beaty and contrasts of the Island have to be seen..... Our first visit to Barbados and will def not be the last. The Bajan's are so friendly, they have a saying 'you arrive as our guest and leave as our friend' this is so true. Finally - you can never have too many 'Rum Punches'!!

Relaxing home away

We really enjoyed our time at the sun gazer. The property has 2 pools and a gym. Use of the Fairmont resort right on the beach is great. Could use a better blender for tropical drinks,tv in the master and ac in the living room. Well cared for home.

Luxurious apartment in a beautiful complex.

Our experience at Sugar Hill, and with Mrs. Robinson, the owner, was flawless from start to finish. This was the first time we had not gone for a package holiday, and we were not disappointed! Mrs. Robinson kept in contact with us, and was always helpful and efficient. On arrival the apartment surpassed our expectations - it is absolutely beautiful. It was so comfortable, spacious, clean and well stocked. There are so many home comforts and more. The roof terrace was such a treat. The Sugar Hill complex is real luxury and the 2 pools are fantastic, especially the infinity pool! The staff, as to be expected with this beautiful island, were so helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Our daily trips to the Fairmont Royal Pavilion and its beach and fantastic staff was another highlight. This was a very special holiday for us, very hard to leave, and we cannot wait to return - thank you Sugar Hill and Mrs. Robinson.

Use of the exclusive Fairmont Royal Pavilion Beach Club. Situated on the beautiful Alleynes Bay, yet less than a mile from Sugar Hill, it is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the idyllic Caribbean surroundings. Our house guests receive complimentary beach facilities - including sunbeds with luxury cushions and umbrellas, and Beach Club assistants to welcome and attend to your requirements. A beach front terrace and bar provides the perfect location for lunch, snacks and beverages. Guests can also use the Royal Pavilion fine dining restaurant, Café Taboras. A short stroll along the beach you will find further dining options at the Lone Star or a more casual experience at local beach bars. The Beach Club also provides changing rooms, shower and toilet facilities. Water-sports are available at a nominal fee. Swimming with the Turtles takes place off the beach and the Beach Club staff organise daily guided tours.

Members also have use of the Royal Pavilion car park, providing ample secure parking virtually on the beach.
