About Laura Strong

Kevin and I have lived in the Flathead Valley since the late 70s. We've put on hundreds, probably thousands, of miles backpacking, climbing, hiking, fishing, biking, camping, skiing and boating- when it comes to recreating- we love to go do it! Oh yes we've managed to squeeze plenty of working in there also. But any and every local will tell you- we don't live here to work- we work (as little as possible) to live in the most amazing place!

We love and know this area very well- we'll help you discover the on or off-the-beaten path adventure you are dreaming of- this place is made for dreamers.

Laura Strong purchased this cabin in 2014

Why Laura Strong chose Glacier Park

This is a new venture for us as we head towards retirement age. After working for other companies in the hospitality industry, I thought it was time I put my own identity into sharing this wonderful valley with travelers. Kevin and I have applied our joint talents to redesigning this property into a welcoming, cozy camp for you. It is a work in progress, but I imagine I'll be saying that 10 years from now as well. Our home is located on the property, along with Kevin's cabinet shop, next to our 4 rental cabins, so we are available if you have questions or problems.

What makes this cabin unique

Our location is so perfect to access every activity in the area- but especially Glacier National Park. We are in the northeast corner of the Flathead Valley just before the entrance to the canyon leading to Glacier. You are 15 minutes from the Park, but also only 10 minutes from Whitefish, an easy 20 minute drive to amazing Flathead Lake, and minutes from several award winning golf courses. We have three different public fishing accesses on Flathead River within 4.5 miles of us- 2 are within one mile. Whitewater rafting on the fabulous Middle Fork of the Flathead River is located in West Glacier only 15 miles up the road.

Clean, well furnished & cozy cabin close to Columbia Falls and Glacier National Park

  • 5 of 5

The refurbished cabin was like new. The kitchen area had all the necessary things plus some nice extras like salt, pepper, coffee etc. Grocery stores, shopping & dining are near by in Columbia falls and Whitefish.

We made several day trips into Glacier NP and near by areas such as: Pole Bridge, Apgar Village (Lake McDonald), Marias Pass (Continental Divide), Goat Lick, Two Medicine area, Logan Pass, Many Glacier Hotel on Swift Current Lake etc. Laura was helpful in pointing us to several of those destinations.

Just what we needed

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I booked this cabin to be near Glacier National Park. It is 1 large room with a separate toilet and tub/shower room. There was a well equipped kitchen with eating space and 2 bar stools. There were also 2 living area chairs and a wall mounted TV along with the queen size bed. It didn't have a couch and at first I was disappointed, but we never used the sitting area. Frankly we hiked and explored all day and really just showered and slept in the cabin.

Laura provided toilet paper, shampoo and conditioner along with body wash. She also had paper towels, coffee, sugar and honey in the kitchen, she was extremely responsive and even gave us some suggestions for hikes. We would stay here again.

Great spot, under 20 mins to everywhere you want to go.

  • 5 of 5

We arrived later (by train) and Laura had the awesome cabin open with the keys on the table. She recommended pole bridge mercantile for the huckleberry bear claws. It was just about the best bear claw I have ever ate. She gave us plenty of other pointers and helped us have an absolutely amazing time on our honeymoon. I would recommend Trapline to anyone looking for a central point between GNP and Whitefish. Plenty of great food options, most of which Laura provided. Do not miss this affordable gem.

A lovely place to stay for a Glacier np visit!

  • 5 of 5

These adorable cabins are a great way to visit Glacier NP and save some $. We used the kitchen every night to cook dinners and prep our lunches for the following day out. The kitchen has the necessary utensils and pots/pans, salt/pepper, oil, sugar, and (delicious) coffee. Laura was super nice and rolled in an extra bed so it slept 3 comfortably. We had extra towels provided to us, the bathroom was stocked with essentials- soap even a hair dryer. We used the free wifi and never turned it on, but there was a tv in our cabin too- I didn't expect to have wifi and access to a tv. Laura provided great hiking recomendations and was a great host. Cabins were clean, comfortable and a 15-20 minute drive from the west Apgar entrance. I would highly reccomend these cabins if you are looking for comfort but also to save some money by cooking your own meals. The adorable town of Whitefish is also within a short distance drive.

We are just 1 mile from downtown Columbia Falls where you can dine, find groceries and all other necessities. Flathead River is a short 1/2 mile walk from your door. World class golfing is available at several courses in the valley.

We love living in the "Last Best Place" where you can still find wild adventures. White water raft down the Middle Fork of the Flathead River. Fly fishing abounds in area rivers and streams.
