I have lived in western NC and east TN all my life. I attended college at WCU and UT. I grew up in Graham County and returned home in 1995 to work as 4-H agent. I worked with 4-H youth for 17 years. Following that I worked in tourism for the Town of Robbinsville for three years. Currently, I work in after-school for the local school system.
Teresa Garland purchased this apartment in 2010
I inherited this property from my parents in 2010 and have been busy updating things since then.
The building was built in the mid-1960's and initially housed two apartments and a hardware store. Eventually the business closed and two other apartments were finished. My parents provided monthly rentals for local families.
After I went to work in tourism in 2012, I decided that maybe I would prefer offering the property as a vacation rental. Last year, we got two apartments ready for rent as vacation rentals and this year we hope to have the other two finished. I live on the property in one of the apartments that was completed in the late 1970's.
I hope our guests will be excited to be part of a new and hopefully expanding project. We are new to the vacation rental busy and are making updates. It would be nice to take our guests on this journey with us. I am excited to hear their ideas and suggestions as we embrace this new adventure.
We had a wonderful time. Teresa was very helpful with tips on places to go. The place was very clean. Had everything we needed. I will definently be back. Great location for those who love to ride.
My family recently stayed at this apartment over Labor Day weekend. I was suprised by how much space the apartment had. Bigger than expected. Everything was nice and clean. We like to go to lake santeethlah when coming to Robbinsville and this place was only a short drive away. Teressa provided everything you could possibly need. This was a fantastic place for the price. We will definelty stay here again in the future.
I had a terrific stay at Teresa's! It was very clean and comfortable, I typically stay off of 28 when I come to Robbinsville, but it was nice being so convenient to the local restaurants and stores and of course 129. I would definitely stay again as Teresa has made the place very comfortable and welcoming to guests. Thanks again!
This review is more about Teresa herself than the property. I had made a reservation at her rental and then I had a family emergency just a few days before the trip was supposed to start. She understood my family's situation and did everything she could to work things out with us. Suffice to say that I will be looking to her next time I travel to Robbinsville due to her honesty alone. Anyone who treats people this way deserves my business. Thank you for your understanding and I sincerely apologize for not being able to make it. Robbinsville is a yearly destination for me and my friends so I look forward to seeing you in 2017 if you are still renting your property!
Graham County is an outdoor adventure destination. There are miles of hiking trails in the area, including part of the Appalachian Trail. Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest is a hot spot for bird watching. Rafting on the Nantahala River is only 30 minutes away. Local boat docks offer boat and jet ski rentals. The county has four lakes and a wide variety of streams for fly-fishing. It truly is an outdoorsman's paradise.
