Family friendly vacation property. The home features 2 bedrooms along with 2 baths. a spacious 3 season porch facing the lake. The home is a walkout style with a gradual elevation to lake. Vaulted ceilings along with a wrap around deck invite guests to the home. The lake is a hard sand bottom, with some normal weed growth for the area, making it a great place to swim and enjoy the water on a beautiful sunny Minnesota day. This lake is a smaller lake, and does not have a public access, but allows peaceful kayaking, canoeing, and perfect for SUP. If boating is your thing, only minutes away is the city of Crosslake and the Whitefish chain with multiple public boat accesses. Restaurants, nightly entertainment and many other things to do in Crosslake.
We searched many cabin properties for a long weekend trip. We decided on this property based on photos, reviews and very prompt customer service from the property owner. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home! Property was very clean and well maintained. Our 2 young kids loved the bunk beds downstairs! Ample towels, extra bedding etc... Sun porch was great for extra space to play and eat meals. The kitchen is small but more than adequate for our needs. The was a keurig and a standard coffee maker as well as all basic kitchen supplies. Netflix available on tv which was great for watching at night. We took advantage of the kayaks which were a lot of fun since the lake is so calm. There were no large boats with waterskiiers etc... We brought a small fishing boat which we launched from the dock but honestly we fished more just from the dock. It was hard to even keep up with all the fish. We were catching fish with almost every cast which made it really fun for our kids. Variety of sunfish, bass, perch, and a couple bullheads! The outside property is a nice large space for being outside and sitting by the campfire. The neighbors are pretty close but wasn't really as issue. The town of Cross Lake is less than 10 minutes away and has a good variety of restaurants. I would recommend Zorbaz! A fun, casual atmosphere, good food, outdoor patio and also had a band the night we were there! We also went to the Cross lake campground, which is on the main road in town, to use the beach. There was free entrance and parking. We were all sad to go home after the weekend and would love to return next summer!
1. Quick drive from the Twin Cities
2. Perfect lake view with Kayaks
3. Close to Cross lake (Launch is about 5 mins from cabin)
4. Large sun room
5. TVs in almost every room (Samsung TVs so you can cast to the screen from Samsung phone)
2.Neighbors are a little close
Very clean cabin, basic but just what we needed. Kayaks were awesome, lake was so peaceful and quiet, perfect for paddling (not so much for swimming--weeds). Communication with host was fast and logistics were smooth. Definitely recommend, would be great for kids too.
This place wasn't hard to feel at home in AT ALL. It felt like a cabin that had been in my family for years. It ended up just being one other friend and myself who made the trip but it would have been comfortable for 4 others for sure. Having 2 bathrooms was great and a living area upstairs and downstairs was really nice too. I loved the fire pit area where I enjoyed peaceful fires and the calls of the loons. Also, the water is SO CLEAR. My friend and I went kayaking multiple times (first-timers, so easy to do and so fun!) and had a great time exploring the little coves of the lake and the mystery of what would be in the weeds of the clear water! :) We spotted a bald eagle in the sky at one point, lots of loons, a big doe walking through the front yard. We didn't bring our fishing poles either but this would have been a great place for fishing. The charcoal grill was perfect, we made some mean rib-eye steaks. And lastly, the kitchen knives were so sharp and it was great cutting up potatoes and vegetables with nice sharp knives. Thank you for the amazing weekend getaway, it was just what we needed. Would highly recommend!
Cute, clean, cabin close to CrossLake-the town and the lake. Nice screen porch-fun kayaks for touring the ~60 acres of Fawn Lake. Beaver, Eagles and Heron sightings and many willing Northern Pike for hooking.
Located just south of the city of Crosslake and the Whitefish chain.
Minutes to great restaurants, shopping, water activity rentals and everything Crosslake has to offer.
