Modern two level home with front patio with table and six chairs, gas grill for outdoor entertaining.
Front of the house has LR and DR with table for six. Back of the house has glass enclosed room with DR table and six chairs and sitting area to relax and enjoy the woods.
Both upstairs BR queen beds, 2 full bath.
Very quiet area. Steps away to the beach, and to watch sunset. Walk into town for restaurants, art galleries. Nearby farms for fruit picking throughout the season.
Our house sits a little over 100' from the street. You can sit out on the front patio and watch people walking too and from Lake Michigan. It's quite private and quiet.
The woods out back are so beautiful and we often see deer walking through the trees. The entire lot is over 350' deep.
There is central air and forced-air heat, so it is a four-season home.
During summer months, we subscribe to The Mosquito Squad. This has been very beneficial to the owners and to our guests helping you be able to enjoy the outdoors during summer nights sitting out on the patio. If you want to know more about The Mosquito Squad, please visit their website. They use safe materials. If a service is scheduled during any of our guests stay, we will give you advance notice. https://www.mosquitosquad.com/
We have a local cleaning service clean the house before and after each our guests arrive. Should you need any assistance during your stay and if the owner is unavailable, their contact information is within the Welcome to Normandie book.
We also have a Sonos Connect hooked into our stereo system. If you are unfamiliar with Sonos, please look at their website www.sonos.com. If you have downloaded the Sonos app, you can connect with our stereo system to wirelessly play music from your smartphone or computer devices through the stereo system speakers in the front living room.
This was our second time renting this cabin. It has everything you could ask for. Want to walk to the finest freshwater beach in the US? Check! Want to have coffee and breakfast surrounded by birch trees and rhododendrons while enjoying the comforts of being indoors? Check! Want privacy? Check! Want a great space to entertain friends? Check! Want great restaurants and entertainment less than 10 minutes away? Check! I could go on an on, this is a great deal on a great cabin in a great location!
This is our second time staying here. It has everything we need. it was an easy walk to Douglas beach, into downtown Douglas and to the other side of the lake to Kayak. We rode our bikes a lot too! We like the easy drive to Saigatuck and Oval beach as well.
We came with our two young age kids. They don't have problems with stairs. They like that the bedrooms are close. Sleeping at a new place can be scary but here we are right across the hall from one another and it makes it easier on us because they are close to us they go right to bed and do not get scared.
The kitchen comes with everything and the open concept makes you feel like you are involved in the action when you are cooking.
The Car port is large and fits our car and the bikes, bike trailer, wagon, beach toys etc. . . That we brought.
Be aware to pack accordingly there is not a Washing machine. Which is fine with me I don't want to do laundry on my vacation but just pack enough cloths for your stay!
This house is great for our family of four. We spent most of our time outdoors going on adventures. But for nights and morning time this house is easy and has everything we need.
Will stay here again.
We had a great time at the house. Only a five minute walk to the beach.
The house is in a great location and is decorated very nicely. It was a joy to stay there and hope to stay there again.
Thanks for a great experience!

Everything you need for cooking and enjoying a relaxing vacation
2 couples were looking for a weekend getaway within a few hours of Chicago in late September. We found this place and were excited that it was in walking distance from Lake Michigan and a short drive to fun shopping and dining spots. The house is set back from the road, making it nicely secluded. The woods are behind the house, providing a nice view from the first floor sitting room. The 2 bedrooms are spacious and 2 bathrooms made it perfect for each couple. The kitchen is nicely appointed. A nice touch upon arriving was a bottle of wine waiting on the counter. We enjoyed our weekend. The only glitch in our stay was arriving and finding the house floors and rugs not vacuumed, which we're sure was an oversight. A call to the owner was met with an apology, so it was acknowledged appropriately; however a reduction toward the housecleaning fee would have been appreciated. Overall, we liked this place and look forward to staying here again.
Saugatuck Dunes State Park, Oval Beach (six minute drive away!), Oxbow Arts Camp, many art galleries nearby. Fruit farms for picking throughout the summer season. Holland Farmers Market on Wednesday and Saturdays. Douglas Beach two blocks away down the street with public access.
