About Laura Tedeschi
Owners Paul and Laura Tedeschi live in Brooklyn, CT We met as art students at UMASS at Dartmouth. We somehow ended up fixing up 3 older homes, before buying Wildwood Cottage. We have 2 children a son and daughter, who spent many happy weekends and vacations at the cottage. Laura was scout leader (cub and girl) and has had her troops stay at the cottage. Paul is and advertising creative director and Laura has run a small design business T2 Creative for over 20 years out of our Brooklyn home.
Laura Tedeschi purchased this Cottage in 1997
Why Laura Tedeschi chose Bristol
We chose this area for a vacation home because Paul's parent's had been living in the White Mountains area and on return trips from visiting, we often would drive down Route 3 just to look at Newfound Lake and say, "Wouldn't it be great to have a little get-away spot here - it's so beautiful and peaceful - imagine going for a hike near the lake then coming home to a nice cozy fireplace?" Paul's parent eventually moved to Bristol and his mom convinced us we should look for a place there. After looking at many run-down , low ceiling-ed, crowded cottage colony places, which was all we could afford on the lake, Paul's Mom called us to say she had our cottage, it wasn't on the lake "but just wait until you see it!" We loved it the minute we walked in. The house had a sweet woody smell, the living room with the necessary cozy fireplace was perfect, and the house had never been finished so we could fix it up they way wanted. We could picture kids up in the loft bedroom. There was little noise from the busy shore road and lake. But we could see the lake through the trees, and we could walk down to Cummings Town beach. The area has a great old-fashioned 50's-60' vacation feel, no over-development or huge motor boats on the lake. Shackett's grocery right up the street. Plus a nice little downtown area with antique shops and some great breakfast places and pubs. And all close to some nice natural areas we like to visit like Sculptured Rocks, Hebron Marsh, Quincy Bog and Wellington State Park. We were hooked! Now it's your turn to love Wildwood Cottage and Newfound Lake!

Great place for a relaxing vacation.
This has become our favorite place for summer vacation. The cottage is well kept and comfortable. The area is quite and great if you are looking to relax. We are planning to stay there again. Highly recommend this cottage.
Beautiful cottage and settings
We had a wonderful time visiting from S. Florida. Weather did not really cooperate as we had rain the part of evey day but the last, but still managed to see and do a lot.
Pretty woodland cottage
Very cozy cottage just off Newfound Lake. Beautiful fall colors, which is what we came for! We had deer in the yard one morning, which we really loved to see!
Cozy Cabin is close to spectacular lakes and Kancamagas Hwy
This cute, affordable and comfortable cabin is secluded but close enough to lakes, mountain hiking trails, and shopping if that is your thing. Fall colors were on full display along the Kancamagas. We would love to come again in Spring or Summer. Very private and quiet in Fall.
Quiet and comfortable.
Nice setting. Centrally located. Quiet. Plenty of room. Great getaway.
Perfect escape from the big city
Second time we stayed at this cottage and had a great time again. Loved that we can walk to the lake and the beaches, this time we drove a lot more around for apple picking, farm stands and farmers' markets. The cottage was clean, the kitchen was well equipped with everything one needs to prep a quick supper, and plenty of blankets for the chilly September nights. So much fun to escape the hustle and bustle of the big city, even if only for a long weekend.
