Relaxing with Family

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed wildlife viewing, making smores, and rocking on the lake swing. The clean, well-appointed property was just a few minutes away from Pokagan State Park which was a plus for those of us who like to hike.

The owner was responsive and easy to contact.

My family and I already talked about a return visit next fall.

Fall Beauty!

  • 5 of 5

We had four couples come with us to this very awesome lakeside retreat! The weather was unseasonably warm, in the 80's, perfect for kayaking on the lake. We have visited this lake before and love it here in any season. The house sits lakefront, gorgeous views of the changing fall colors. There was plenty of space for us to cook, play games, watch movies, biking, evening walks, and hanging around the firepit on cool evenings. It is a charming cottage, clean with everything you need to be comfortable. We cannot wait to return in any season and feel very fortunate to have discovered this peaceful spot to be with friends. We will be back for more Peace by George!

Lake George Fun

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful vacation at this beautiful cottage. The lake is really pretty, safe, and the kids could enjoy swimming and playing in the water right off the dock. There is sand by the seawall to wade in. We fished off the dock and caught bass and bluegill. Plenty of space to tie up our boat. The public access to put in our boat is just 5 minutes away from this property . Lots of parking for our boat trailer. We loved the house and there was plenty of room for all 10 of us. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to fix meals and then eat outside on the beautiful patio by the lake. Also used the grill provided. We hope to rerun for a long week-end in the fall to see the autumn colors around Lake George. A place not to be missed.

Perfect Place on George

  • 5 of 5

Our family has a place on Lake George, but it is currently being remodeled. We've missed being on the lake this summer - so when I found this cottage, I was SO excited. The home is exactly what a cottage on a lake should be. It has plenty of beds to accommodate a large group and a perfect gathering space in the kitchen/living area for meals and catching up! The bonus "basement" was awesome for our kids. They thought it was their secret cave and watched a couple movies in there. The outdoor space was perfect, too! We grilled out and enjoyed the view of the lake at sunset. The owners were amazing. Communication was perfect and they were very welcoming. I would definitely recommend this cottage to family and friends in the future!

Totally awesome place to vacation

  • 5 of 5

Lake George is a special place. It's like going back in time, quiet, restful, nature everywhere. So safe for the kids to ride their bikes, fish and swim from the dock. The sunrises are spectacular. My favorite thing to do was taking my kayak out into the lilypads and to just listen to the sounds of the wind and the waking birds in the morning. It's a quiet place, family oriented and friendly. We mostly cooked in, but there are a few cool little places, like "Clays" for meals out, and "Daves Lake Shack" not far on Clear Lake. During the week it is especially quiet, the lake is freshwater spring fed, the whole area is like a hidden little gem. The cottage is so nice you don't want to leave. There was plenty of room for our family, great spacious kitchen, games, DVDs, comfortable and a beautiful home to get to stay in. Thanks for letting us enjoy your special home, we cannot wait to return! I imagine the fall colors are truly awesome, we will be back!

Fun place to be with friends and family

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at this lake cottage! Firstly, this house is very unique as it is a true log cabin style with exposed logs throughout the home. It gives you a lodge type feel with all of the modern amenities we expect when traveling. From start to finish the owners were a pleasure to work with and answered our every question and need.

My husband and I stayed at the cottage with a three other couples and there was plenty of space for everyone to spend time together or to enjoy some quiet privacy. The house is very clean with lovely finishes and nice linens (funny things to mention but they do make a difference!!) We loved the cool faucet in the hall bathroom! Bedrooms are nicely furnished with lots of storage and space. Having three bathrooms was really nice too so no one had to fight for shower time. The kitchen looks newly renovated and has nice appliances. We did lots of takeout for dinner but the stove was great for cooking breakfast! Also has a big fridge for any takeout leftovers or libations. ;-)

This area can seem a little remote but had everything we needed within a short drive. Pizza places, restaurants, grocery stores, even an outlet mall. (Try Tom's Donuts. Seriously good donuts but go early!! They run out fast!) I think the quiet feeling around the lake really helped us unplug from our hectic lives and just take it easy for a few days. The area felt really safe too and would be good for families with kids. Lots of space to run around without having lots of traffic to worry about. Also tons of neat wildlife to watch. A big heron landed on the dock one morning while we sat outside with our coffee. So cool!

This rental was great for our group. We were swimmers, fisherman, and did lots of sunbathing all around. We did have one rainy day but had plenty to do as the owners have a big DVD collection and board games. Seriously, a bunch of 30-somethings competitively playing board games is an awesome sight to behold!

It is tough to get our friends to commit to go somewhere together and we all agree we would head back to Lake George in a heartbeat! Thanks for sharing your fun getaway with us!
