Lovely Gower holiday cottage: rural, large gardens, near beaches, great walks

Bedrooms 3
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay nights

About the property

3 bedroom, private cottage, with large gardens/paddock

You are very welcome to stay at our three bedroomed cottage set in beautiful, substantial private grounds close to but not in peaceful rural village. The house has been recently refurbished and redecorated, with antique/period furniture, 2 cast iron double beds and a children's bunk bed, large mature gardens, on several Gower walks, and ten minutes from any Gower beaches. A great base from which to explore the Gower, its walks and beaches or simply for relaxing. Please visit our website for more pictures and information.

This cottage has already proved popular with guests and offers total quality, privacy and seclusion, but yet only 100 yards walk to the village and real ale pub/restaurant. The cottage has a rustic Farmhouse kitchen, Oil Rayburn, three comfortable bedrooms, with brand new pocket sprung mattresses, and quality bedding (and towels) all provided. The cottage is ideal for a family or two couples, having two new cast iron antique double beds (one king size, one standard) and a children's bunk bed in the third bedroom. There is also a fold away single bed that can be used instead of the bunk to accommodate an extra adult.

The cottage has been very recently refurbished and redecorated by us. It now has all new white goods, a brand new range cooker and an additional Rayburn oven (ideal for roasts). The bathroom was recently refurbished and has a good shower and bath.

The cottage is set in extensive lovely gardens, which include seating areas next to the house for eating outside, a BBQ and further on an orchard and large open areas to enjoy and relax in. this area also contains a childrens' play area with swings, slide and sandpit, as well as table tennis. We also own the 2.5 acre paddock adjoining which guests are welcome to use, whether for children running off energy, or exercising dogs, or simply enjoying the view over the Loughor Bay.

We also have three stables in the paddock and are able to offer guests the possibility to bring their own horses with them to enable the Gower and beaches to be explored on horseback. further details available on direct enquiry.

Owner's Response: Unfortunately there was an event on Gower this weekend and the cleaners were very delayed by heavy traffic. In 8 years of letting the cottage this has never happened before and is obviously disappointing. We've asked our cleaners to let us know if this happens again (however unlikely) so that we can manage the situation in advance. Situation probably not helped by the guests arriving 45 minutes early but we have now put in place measures that would prevent a repetition. As an aside we haven't used the online review function since we started letting the cottage in 2008 as we have always had a guests comments book in the cottage. We have however now transcribed the reviews from there which can be found in the general description area.

The cottage is an ideal base for enjoying the beatiful Gower peninsula. The multiple award winning beaches are simply stunning and offer attractions for all ages. Aside from beaches and surfing, some of the UKs best coastal and clifftop walks are within Gower. There are a number of very good pubs and restaurants across Gower, including a bistro and pub in the village itself. You can also walk out from the cottage across the marshes to see wild ponies and views across the bay, also home to the Gower Salt Marsh lambs (as featured on Coast). The cottage is a lovely family base having swings and a slide for children, with completely enclosed gardens. Similarly, an ideal base for holidays with dogs, not least as the gardens are secure for dogs and there is lovely walking out from the cottage itself.
