Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a lovely week here in this cosy, comfortable and peaceful cottage. There is lots to do and see close by. We especially loved the walk round Loch Leven and the Pillars of Hercules organic restaurant in Falkland.

A lovely and relaxing stay

  • 5 of 5

My sister and I wanted to bring our mother out of Germany for the first time (over 80 but still fit). After checking several locations we found this nice cottage. We stayed for 10 days and didn't regret it one bit. First the central location. You are near but not to near a motorway and other streets which can bring you everywhere in Southern Scotland in around 1 hour. We took for example a visit to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling and a few other historical buildings. If you mainly use the Kitchen instead going to eat outhouse, several supermarkets (Kinross) and stores in direction of Edinburgh are available. Second the Cottage itself. I can only speak for us, but we felt directly at home. The livingroom was cozy, the beds really comfortable, the kitchen nice and convient. The Bathroom was suitable and everything was clean. The garden-furnishings could need a little love but with nice cushions and Tablecloth this wasnt really an issue.

Of course there were signs of usage but this didn't really bother in the overall impression. Since the fields begin directly behind the cottage I was waked up a few times by pheasants directly before the roomwindow. As a city peron I found this really relaxing. The Internet was good for the location so normal surfing isnt an issue. Even Netflix is possible (like on Rainy days) if someone isnt bothered by the lowest quality/ small lagging and nothing interesting is on the normal television. The Landlords are really nice and helpful. If we noticed something they helped or provided it on a shortcall when possible. (Things like a bathmat, or explaining things).

The cat and dog they have are also really friendly an greet everyone when the are out in the yard.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay there and it is not unlikly that we visit there a second time.

a perfect time near Kinross

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our holiday week in August at Balling Cottage very much. The house is formed very broadmindedly with a beautifull living room and a high-quality fitted out kitchen. Kate and Cameron are very nive and attentive hosts. They gave us a lot of helpfull tipps, so that we were well prepared for our activities.

The cottage is not far away from Kinross. Somit is a perfect place to visit Edinburgh, Striling, Perth, Loch Lomond and Blair Atholl. In Crieff you have the possibilitiy to make your own souvenir from scotland, a paperweight at Caithness Glass.

Relaxing break

  • 5 of 5

'Ballingall' is a lovely characterful cottage mixing old world charm with modern facilities making it a very comfortable retreat. The private garden is a real suntrap and we really enjoyed relaxing surrounded by bird song and beautiful scenery.

The welcome package included breakfast tea/coffee, shortbread, bottle of wine and even doggie biscuits for our pooches! Kate's attention to detail is lovely and made us feel very welcome, both Kate and Cameron were so helpful and Kind and nothing was too much bother. Our little dog was very poorly and Kate kept an eye on her letting us have a day out without worry.

We didn't travel too far from base but found Loch Leven has plenty to offer in way of accessible walks (mobility scooters can be hired by Loch Leven) nature rambles, historic interest etc . We would love to come back one day and have already recommended 'Ballingall' cottage.

Thanks to all x
