About Sue Redmond

Employed in the advertising industry most of our lives, my husband and I wanted a place to get away and de-stress - we found the perfect spot in our Red Point Cabin. Many years when we were dating, we camped at Elk Neck State Park and ventured to Annapolis on a friends boat. Super convenient and easy to get to quickly, we decided to plant roots here to raise a family. Our criteria was "no Aqua, no Sunset, no sale" We found the perfect best kept secret ever in North East Maryland.

Sue Redmond purchased this cabin in 1985

Great cabin!

  • 5 of 5

Sue's cabin was perfect for my weekend reunion with friends. It was clean and comfortable, and the view of the Bay is incredible. I would definitely try and book it again in the future.

Great find in a quiet spot

  • 5 of 5

It's hard to have a relaxing vacation with a 6yo, 3yo and 4 month old but we managed it for the four days we stayed at Red Point Cabin. Sue, the hostess, was helpful without being intrusive.

The inside of the cabin is lovely, looks like a restoration hardware brochure! But also very unique and quirky in a good way. Perfect outdoor table for crackin some crabs. The hot tub was like a little private plunge pool for the kids and the beach was with walking distance for younger children. The beach is pretty and untouched, seemed to also be a gathering place for the locals on their golf carts (all of whom were friendly).

The piece de resistance is the area out front, over the gravel track. Absolutely perfect for watching the sunset, my kids had a great time making pretend fires on the large rock out there.

The town of North East is a nice little town to go for the day, lots of antique shops (5&10 is great) and also a little bakery where the salted caramel pretzel cupcakes were to die for.

All in all, just what we were looking for. A quiet retreat,, nice house, not pretentious or touristy, with a few things to keep the kids happy.

Sunsets and So Much More

  • 5 of 5

I love reading the guest book when we stay anywhere. Getaway couples (like us), families with kids, retirees, friends, even Professional Bass Fisherman love this place. It is comfort with character. It is convenience with style. The sunsets are gorgeous, but I wasn't prepared for the full moon over the bay which is just as beautiful. And quiet. This place is quiet. Birds, wind and water. That's it. The beds are comfortable. The kitchen is well designed and convenient. And if you're not into cooking the town has an assortment of really good affordable restaurants.

But outside is where this place shines. The hot tub has a great view. The picnic table has a great view. The yard has a great view. Birds are everywhere. Short walk to the beach and boat launch.

The owners could not have been more helpful. Fast response and follow-up. They had answers to all our questions and great suggestions for everything else.

We will be back.

Quiet and peaceful

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was a perfect place for 3 couples to spend the weekend together. The cabin is very inviting and cozy and the setting is gorgeous. We had a great time watching hummingbirds and other wildlife. The owners do a great job of thinking about all the details and are very friendly. The beds are very comfortable and all the amenities are great. The town of North East is close by if you need anything. Highly recommend!

Beautiful escape

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was very clean and serene. Waking up with the beautiful view of the bay and gentle breeze in the bedroom was awesome. The hummingbird feeder on the front porch attracted many hummingbirds which was nice to see up close. The osprey nest down at the bay was so neat to watch also. The house has everything you need including nice table to eat outside and hot tub and an outside shower! It's a short drive to lots of restaurants featuring crab cakes and you can sit outside to eat. We really didn't want to leave. The owners are very nice and had many helpful tips on where to eat and places to go, etc. My questions were always answered the same day.
