Our apartment is situated in El Cotillo, a small fishing village on the west coast of Fuerteventura. If you enjoy a quiet and relaxing holiday, where beautiful beaches and calm lagoons are combined with an unspoilt village atmosphere then El Cotillo could well be your perfect destination. El Cotillo has a number of friendly cafes and bars with some wonderful views of the harbours and beaches. There are several small supermarkets catering for Spanish and English tastes with restaurants specialising in sea food and Canarian dishes. The apartment is located on the edge of the village and is close to bars, shops and restaurants and is only a few minutes walk to the beaches. To the north are the golden beaches and enchanting lagoons where children can play and explore the rock pools. A beach bar and restaurant offer food and drinks throughout the day and a little shade. To the south is the 'surfers' beach, where the wind and waves provide excellent opportunities for water sports.
Roof terrace: Ideal for outdoor eating and drinking the odd G & T (not provided) a 50+m space, is equipped with 4 loungers, 4 chairs, a large table and parasol. With views to the mountains in the east and the lighthouse and beach to the west, the sun can be enjoyed all day long.
Living area: The large open plan lounge contains a coffee table and two large comfortable sofas. A TV is provided with a surround sound DVD system that also plays CD's and has an in-built radio tuner. Some DVD's and books are contained in the matching units, as are maps of the island, local magazines and an information pack. The larger sofa has a single bed underneath which provides additional sleeping.
Kitchen: the fitted kitchen contains; full sized oven and hob - microwave - fridge - washing machine - iron - kettle - toaster - coffee maker - utensils - pots and pans - 8 place crockery, cutlery and glasses.
Master bedroom: This spacious room contains a double bed, bedside cabinets, bedside lights, dressing table and a mirror. The built in double wardrobe provides drawer, shelves, hanging space and a small lockable safe box.
Second bedroom: The large twin bedded room also contains a bedside cabinet with a light and a mirror. The built in wardrobe provides drawers, shelves and hanging spaces. A Moses basket and collapsible travel cot, for the younger visitors, are located in this room.
Third bedroom: This room, on the upper floor contains a single bed, bedside cabinet, wardrobe, light and mirror.
Stairs lead to the third bedroom and roof terrace. Upon the walls is a panoramic mural painted by a local artist that depicts various features in the village and it's surrounds. With young children in mind, a removable stair gate has been fitted and a hi/lo chair is located underneath the stairs.
From our first enquiry about this property the owner was extremely efficient, helpful and provided excellent customer service.
We cannot find any fault with the property, it was exactly as described, very spacious and well equipped. There were plenty of towels and bedding provided and the washing machine was really handy, plus a roof terrace with plenty of space to dry laundry.
We are a family with two small children and this was an ideal property for us. A highchair and travelcot were provided free of charge. The apartment is split into two levels but had stairgates on both the top and bottom of stairs, which were brilliant for safety. One main reason we chose this apartment was because it has a bath tub (as many properties have only a shower) again, ideal for small children.
Everything was well thought out, a real home from home. There is a DVD player with a library of DVD's, both for grown-ups and children. There were lots of beach toys available for us to use if we wanted, which had been left by previous holiday makers.
El Cotillo is a wonderful place to stay if you're looking for a quiet holiday which is away from all the large tourist resorts. It's a small village with a few restaurants and bars. There's a supermarket within walking distance of the property which is well stocked, plus a delicious bakery!! The childrens playground was nearby which we used everyday, it was lovely.
We had an absolutely fantastic holiday here and would recommend to anyone, especially those with children who are looking for somewhere with uncrowded sandy beaches and good facilities.
Alle benodigdheden zijn aanwezig in het appartement . Goed gelegen vlakbij het dorp en de zee. Leuke restaurantjes en supermarkt vlakbij. Een aan te bevelen locatie zonder massa toerisme. Wij hebben super genoten met ons gezin, 2 volwassenen + 3 kinderen.
This is a lovely, clean, well equipped and really well sized apartment with front and back roof terrace. We had an excellent stay and can highly recommend. Really close to a good sized supermarket and less than 5 mins walk to sunsets and bars, with lots of eating options to choose from.

We spent a wonderful month in John and Moira Reads apartment in El Cotillo. and would recommend this holiday to any one who likes an unspoilt location in a pretty fishing village on an amazing coast. The property was well maintained, clean and very comfortable . There are plenty of very good restaurants in and around the two harbours and we cannot wait to return next winter to escape the cold weather in the UK. Thank you John and Moira.
If lounging on the golden sandy beach all day, soaking up the sun or swimming in the clear blue sea becomes to much for you, you can always visit some of the islands other attractions either by car or bus. Bus services run regularly to the capital Puerto del Rosario and to the lively port of Corralejo. Corralejo, perhaps the busiest town in the north of the island boasts numerous shops, bars and restaurants with a twice weekly open air market and a recently opened water-park. Regular ferry services operate to Lanzarote and to the small island nature reserve of Isla Lobos.
Close to El Cotillo are the towns of El Roque, Lajares, La Oliva, Villaverde and Tindaya. All of these towns hold local fiestas and many have churches and museums that are worth a visit as they offer glimpses of the islands past. The pace of life is relaxed and easy going with 'manyana' an appropriate attitude to adopt.
For the more active holiday maker El Cotillo has some wonderful beaches to explore.

As from January the 1st 2017 -
1 - 2 people £230 per week - Add £40 for each extra person per week and £40 for each extra night.
Cost is for the apartment NOT per person and discounts are available for longer stays.
Changeover on any day and the apartment is available from 4pm on arrival and should be vacated by 11am on departure.
We need 5 hours to clean, change the linnen, replace towels and refresh the apartment ready for your arrival.
We are flexible on arrival / departure times, subject to other bookings.
We may be able to store luggage whilst cleaning is being carried out, please ask.
No security deposit required, we would appreciate information on breakages, as accidents do happen.
If you break a plate or a glass or anything, please let us know so that we can replace such items.
We want every guest to have the full complement of cutlery, crockery and glasses and enjoy their holiday,
as much as we hope you have enjoyed yours.
25% of the total cost is payable on booking.
The balance should be paid 8 weeks before arrival.
If the arrival is less than 8 weeks away the full amount is due on booking.
Payments should be made by bank transfer, account details will be forwarded on booking.
This site shows costs in EUROS. CONVERSION TO GBP will be done at time of booking.
Cheques in GBP are acceptable.
