Steve and Abby have been married for 12 years and have 2 daughters Savannah and Callie ages 9 and 7. We have always been very passionate boaters and fell in love with the Steinhatchee area 15 years ago. Our dream is to do a circumnavigation in our sailboat with our two girls.
Abby and Steve Hale purchased this house in 2015
Steinhatchee has always been our favorite getaway, we've been fishing, scalloping, and diving here for 15 years and it is only 1 hour from our house in Lake City. The fishing has always been outstanding. The opportunity came up to buy this property and we jumped on it. We love the cracker style architecture and the location being so close to the ramp, restaurants, and Sea Hag Marina.
Steinhatchee is the scalloping capital of the world, awesome flats fishing and offshore. Our home is very close to everything, but still very quiet in its location.
We were so impressed by our stay at the Herron's Nest. Everything was perfect. We will definitely stay here again if it's available when we visit Steinhatchee.
Unbelievable attention to detail. Everything you need is here and more. Located a couple of blocks from the river. If you want to leave your boat in the water overnight, just arrange with Sea Hag before hand to use one of their wet slips.
We would come back again, the house was clean and stocked with more than anyone would expect it to be. They were very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. Thanks for sharing your home with us!!!!!!!!!!!!
We really enjoyed our weekend. Steve and Abby's home was beautiful and very clean. It's really close to the boat ramp and you can back your boat under the house for security. It was nice to have the hose there and the electric to charge our batteries. We would definitely return.
Stayed here a week with the family and wow what a place! The scalloping and fishing were excellent but coming back in to a place like this was the best part. Steve and Abby were very good at communicating with us prior to our arrival. Place was clean, modern, and had all of the amenities of home. We will be making this an annual destination!!!
Steinhatchee is an amazing river community with incredible fishing opportunities and a laid back lifestyle. Awesome flats fishing and scalloping opportunities and a kayakers paradise. We've got some great restaurants like Roy's, Fiddlers, Who Dat, and the best Hungry Howies pizza around, you can even pull your boat up to it. A short 20 minute drive brings you to another great little community called Keaton Beach with a small sandy beach area with playground. One of our favorite areas is Hagan's cove, just between Steinhatchee and Keaton.
