About the property

2 bedroom apartment to sleep 4 overlooking Lake Windermere

Brantfield House is a large Victorian house set in mature gardens in a quiet location overlooking the village of Bowness and Lake Windermere. The apartment is on the first floor at the front of the house, with beautifully proportioned rooms offering spectacular views of the lake and surrounding fells.

The apartment is continually being updated and in January 2018 a new bathroom suite was installed. All rooms are well furnished, spacious, light and airy. The apartment sleeps 4 in two bedrooms, the master bedroom has a kingsize bed and the second bedroom has twin beds. All beds were replaced in September 2015. Each room has plentiful storage and the twin room has a TV, and PS2

The bathroom has a shower, toilet and wash basin. The kitchen is newly fitted with ample workspace and includes oven, hob, microwave, toaster, washer and dishwasher. The large lounge /dining room was recently redecorated and is comfortably furnished with leather settees and dining table set in the bay window. There is a TV with Freeview and DVD/Video players and a selection of dvds, videos, books and games. The apartment has free wifi access. This room has a bay window allowing spectacular views of Lake Windermere and the surrounding fells.

The house is set in a quiet location but only a short walk to the heart of Bowness

There is ample parking for the apartment.

A lovely, well equipped, apartment with glorious views of Windermere.

Such a lovely apartment with fantastic views. It is up a steep hill but it is worth the walk.

We have stayed twice now and will be booking again for next year.

There are loads of walks to do directly from the apartment or you could just sit and paint the view.

We love it there.

Amazing apartment,5 star, high class finish throughout,fantastic view, superb internet,perfect.

What an absolutely superb apartment throughout, everything you could wish for and more, one of the best places I've ever stayed in. The high class finish throughout,makes for an enjoyable and relaxing stay. The view is exceptional,it was lovely white snow when we left which makes the view even more picturesque. There is a steep hill on the way up to the apartment, but a road ,around 20 meters down, offers you a more even way through to bowness, you come right out by the angel pub, which is a plus in itself .Myself and my wife have stayed in bowness numerous times, usually in fallbarrow park in a log cabin, but I felt a lot more comfortable and private in this apartment, We are already planning our next visit in 2018, will definitely be trying our hardest to secure this superb apartment again.

Even when the weather was not Always perfect, the view from the window was splendid.

Bowness is a large village on the edge of Lake Windermere. The lake offers all manor of watersports including sailing and canoeing, there are details of boat hire in the apartment. There are numerous pubs, restaurants and a cinema within walking distance. Bowness is the home of the Beatrix Potter museum and a short car journey from the writer's home.

For the walker there are details of walks from the doorstep up onto Brantfell behind the house.

This is an ideal base for exploring the Lake District
