Washington Heights was named one of Milwaukee's most architecturally Significant Neighborhoods..... a walkers dream with a grande boulevard, local parks and outdoor green spaces as well as city landmark's and activities.
My family has lived in this Grande Milwaukee neighborhood for over twenty years and I am so proud to call Washington Heights my home. We have restored many unique architectural gems in Washington Heights, with published stories and pictures in the
Milwaukee Journal, Bungalow Magazine, and our very own local neighborhood newspaper, The Washington Highlighter.
Scott A. Meier purchased this apartment in 2012
Over twenty years ago, we initially purchased the sister duplex next door and made it our home for many years. When this duplex became available...it was a dream come true to own the two duplexes, designed and constructed for the Peck family so many years ago.

Our family of 4 arrived for a 4 day stay, using the apartment as a base to spend Christmas with family. I love the apartment! It was decorated for Christmas with lovely lights and a tree - this was really nice, as this was the first Christmas for us that we did not stay with my mom, who passed away this year. I had brought some decorations to add that holiday feel - but - definitely not needed. The apartment is beautiful, clean, and well-maintained. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen great for preparing breakfast and other meals, and the living / dining room are set up nicely to relax comfortably. There is a good wifi connection. The location was great - 15 minutes from the airport, downtown, and easy access to get to the suburbs (which we also needed to do). We had a great stay. I would visit again. I highly recommend!
A great space. Three guys in town on business and we could really only enjoy it in the mornings before heading out, but those couple morning hours each day in this expertly decorated, classic charming environment made our trip a true pleasure.
This is an above average home in a historic area. Actually it is two rentals; an upstairs and downstairs. We rented the entire home for our family while visiting MKE for a wedding. This home had no problem accommodating our group of six that included a toddler up to grand parents and I suspect it could easily accommodate ten people. They have solid wifi and full featured cable along with everything you'd need to live there like it was your own home. At first we thought the location was a little far for a "downtown centric" wedding weekend but we didn't want to stay in a hotel. Turns out that even in Friday rush hour we could make it to and from downtown in 12-18 minutes. The owners were amazingly easy to work with. They were responsive, friendly and 110% on top of making sure our stay was perfect...and it was! I'd highly recommend this property to anyone! We would definitely stay here again!
I rented both of Scott's elegantly furnished apartments in this house for myself and relatives attending a wedding in the Shorewood/Riverwest areas. The convenient location was only 15-20 minutes to Shorewood as well as downtown. Both apartments were very comfortable and well supplied for all of our needs, and definitely a treat! Beautifully decorated with antiques and pottery, the history of the house and neighborhood became talking points for my guests who were first-time visitors of Milwaukee. Scott was great to work with - I'd definitely rent from him again!
We went to Milwaukee to catch some baseball. Scott's place is only about ten minutes away from Miller Park, which made it remarkably convenient for us. The residence itself is a roomy, comfortable 3-bedroom home which lent itself to relaxing in the morning before gearing up for the day. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly, with shops and restaurants a few blocks to the north. A helpful item would have been a 'welcome packet' type of booklet with emergency contact information, specific information about the property such as trash night, operating instructions for some of the equipment (such as TV, internet access, heating/air conditioning, kitchen appliances, laundry and such), and expected clean-up by renters when checking out. Overall, a very satisfying place to stay and one we can strongly recommend!
