We are an English couple living in the South of England on a small farm. We love the countryside and first visited Bulgaria in 2004 where we fell in love with the area surrounding Cape Kaliakra. We were entranced with the countryside and the simple way of life of the locals and farmers. We first bought a lovely old Bulgarian house in a village that we renovated and now consider our second home. We then purchased Villa Rosa in the lovely village of Balgarevo and we have had many great people staying there including families, couples and friends abd bird watchers. We hope to be able to go on holidaying in Bulgaria for many years to come and to continue to meet up with the friends that we have made over the years.
Jacqueline Seaton purchased this villa in 2006
Villa Rosa was built about 2005 and we thought it would be ideal for holidaymakers and near our own holiday home so it was the ideal choice for us not only for holidaymakers but for our families as well. We have made friends here in Balgarevo as well and we love Kavarna town. When shopping all the shopkeepers remember us and are almost like old friends.
Villa Rosa is such a lovely house and as soon as we saw it's spacious open plan design, little balconies and garden pool surrounded by a patio and lawns we knew it would be the perfect place for visitors to just chill out and it is only a 6 minute drive to the sea. The village is so typical of many of the villages in the area with old stone cottages and friendly locals.
Great holiday and communication with Jackie (including posting back my daughters sunglasses she didn't even know she had left until Jackie told us!).
Villa is big and we spent many days around the pool. Wi-fi is also a bonus and air con in all rooms.
Bulgarians are amongst the friendliest people we have ever met.
Kettle broke while there and replaced the same day by friendly rep.
Recommend Kavarna beach - good location for restaurants as well (more expensive than others in Kavarna but great food and still cheaper than UK). Newer supermarket on right-side just passed main traffic lights in Kavarna best one we found but not much more to eat out.
Good location to visit Kavarna and Cape Kaliakra. Good value and would stay again!
We are a Bulgarian couple, living in Guildford,UK. We visited Jackie's vila for a week, starting 30/07/16. The party consisted of myself and my husband, our 20 year old son with his greek girlfriend (Yes! Greek person on holiday in Bulgaria!!! :) and our 10 year old daughter.
The vila is very spacious and is equipped with all the basic staff you might need(TV,WiFi,sheets, towels, cooking utensils, plates and cups, etc.) The furniture is modern and comfortable. There is very efficient aircon all around the vila. There is a lovely, comprehensive folder guiding you through the use of the property and giving you some ideas where to go and what to see in the area, although ourselves being local didn't need it, it can be great guide for non-bulgarians visiting.
The disappointing thing was ,AND IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE VILA is the nearest beach BOLATA, which might have been 'virgin beach', but not any more!-when we went there, it was overcrowded(and it was on a weekday! cannot imagine what it will be like on a weekend), it was dirty, some guy was collecting money for old and scruffy sun-umbrellas use, which i refused to pay and gave him a good argument back(the advantage of being bulgarian! ;) BUT ANYHOW, THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO with Jackie's lovely villa as there are other beaches one can go to, or just enjoy the sun around the lovely warm and clean pool :))) The maintenance company are very polite and efficient( called them on the first day to change the batteries on the master bedroom aircon and they attended almost immediately).
recommendations from us, which did not affect in a negative way at all our stay are : small bin with bin liners will be useful to have around the house, and also a sun-umbrellas around the pool( a couple will be enough).
We loved the beach DURANKULAK, this is still a virgin beach, therefore you'll need equipment for it (umbrellas, etc.) and perhaps cooler bag with some food and beers as we found the beach cafeteria well overpriced( still much lower prices if you compare it to the pound, but us as being local, know it's well overpriced, but i suppose that's nothing unusual for tourist places all over the world. On DURANKULAK beach we were able to watch dalphins play in the sea!!!!!! water-crystal clear, sand -soft and very fine ( like everywhere in Bulgaria!!!! ;)
Overall- BRILLIANT HOLIDAY!!! BRILLIANT ACCOMODATION!! Thank you!!
The villa is exactly as described. An easy drive from Varna airport and set in a lovely village. Jacqueline is an easy host to deal with and answered any questions we had. The team that look after the villa for her are friendly and helpful. All in all an excellent holiday setting. If we come back to Bulgaria we would happily stay again.
Thanks Jackie for a great holiday! The villa is just as it looks on the website. Light and airy with plenty of room. The pool is was loved by all in the hot weather. Jackie is full of advise being very quick to reply to the many emails I kept firing at her! The homecare company were very helpful just a phone call away when needed, they spoke very good English and were able to help with Hire cars, taxis etc. the pool was checked daily to ensure it was clean. The air con in the bedroom's made sleeping very easy during the hot nights. A great family villa close to good beaches and plenty to do for family days out within an hours drive. Thanks again Jackie for a cracking holiday!
Our holiday was great ! The villa is very nice - the description was 100% true. Villa Rosa is comfortable, holiday home. The pool is perfect for children (although it's better for bigger children - 7-8 years' old). The garden is well maintained and outdoor grill and patio is just perfect to eat and spend time with whole family.
Everyone who needs silent and tranquil surroundings will be happy there. This is excellent location - close to very nice beach ( Bolata Beach) which is not crowded and has "tawern" where you can eat fresh and cheap moules :)
Also Cape Kaliakra is the "must see" place. People are friendly so you feel welcom and in Kavarna you will find everything you need.
I have to admitt that the Owner - Jacqueline Seaton - is one of the bests I had pleasure to contact with. I travel a lot with my family and we usually rent villas so we do come across different owners and I am telling you - she is the best.
Splendid, fast and easy contact. She is very helpful and she looks after her hirers.
We are very, very happy that we were able to spent our holiday in villa Rosa and that we could saw how beautiful Bulgaria is. Thank you very much and best regards :-)
Villa Rosa is lovely - very well laid out with nice sized rooms, it was very clean and the gardens and pool were exceptionally well maintained, with frequent attention (although unobtrusive).
The village of Balgarevo is ideal, if you want to stay in the non touristy part of Bulgaria. There are several restaurants nearby and as we hired a car (definitely recommended, so you can explore the area!), we could easily go into Kavarna for dinner - lots of choices there!
The owner, Jackie, was extremely helpful throughout and even popped in to see us while we were there.
This is a wonderful location in a beautiful country and you don't need a fortune to enjoy it fully, everything is very reasonably priced.
Thank you - we all enjoyed our holiday tremendously.
6 mins drive to a pretty unspoilt sandy cove and nearby Cape Kaliakra with wonderful sea view restaurant and stalls selling local crafts. Nearby is a superb fish restaurant serving their freshly caught mussels. Dolphins can often be spotted from here. Balgarevo provides several good restaurants serving local dishes and shops around the main square. There is also a new Equestrian Centre with a restaurant, stalls selling local honey, melons etc. The nearby town of Kavarna has a good choice of supermarkets, banks, clothes, shoe shops leather goods etc. A feature fountain in the pedestrian square and gardens, with children's play areas. Festivals during the summer include Cape Kaliakra Rock Festival. Drive to Balchik a traditional fishing town with restaurants and music along the promenade and pay a visit to Queen Maria's Palace and gardens. Wonderful atmosphere. Shabla within 15 mins drive with miles of deserted sandy beaches. An hour's drive will take you to the Romanian border. Larger towns to visit are Dobrich and Varna where you can buy leather goods, coats, handbags and boots and local crafts at good prices.
