About the property

1 Mile To Courthouse, Studio Layout, Full Bath, Private Courtyard & Kitchenette

If you are looking to unwind in Marfa, you've come to the right place. Located in the Brite Addition of northwestern Marfa, My Casita features exposed adobe walls, a full bath with tub, kitchenette with table, hotel style air conditioning and heat, custom made queen bed, and a private courtyard.

The Brite Addition of Marfa is adjacent to the historical Brite Ranch, which provides pasture views for miles to the north and west. The neighborhood is composed of Mid century and Modern homes on large lots, some on entire blocks. My Casita faces west and is behind a larger contemporary adobe home. It has its own entrance and enjoys privacy from the main residence. All renovation improvements were professionally done with great attention to detail and comfort.

The walled courtyard is the perfect place to enjoy coffee in the morning and a beverage at sunset while you grill. Relax on the sofa with a book in the comfort of air conditioning or surf with WiFi while watching TV. The kitchenette provides most everything one needs for simple meal preparation. The full bath has nice contemporary fixtures and storage.

Quaint property

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our visit to Marfa and the Casita was just as described. I bit off the beaten trail but nothing is very far in Marfa. Disappointed in the art scene as many galleries were not open. The Casita was very clean and quiet.

Cozy studio on the edge of town

  • 4 of 5

The location of this guest house is exactly what we were looking for. It’s in town but the neighborhood is on the fringe, where the streets return to dirt roads and you can see beautiful open ranch land and mountains at the end of the block. The space is a tiny studio apartment with a mini fridge and microwave. But combined with the outdoor grill, this was enough for us to make some meals. (Consider that Marfa’s limited restaurant hours make occasional cooking more important). Overall, the guest house was cozy, comfortable and well stocked, and we would recommend it. ...And we were so glad we weren’t staying at El Cosmico, because the temp dropped below freezing outside.

The only minor drawback was that at different times we lost both hot water and WiFi during our stay. But we eventually found the water heater and modem and we were able to restart both ourselves.

Nice weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

Perfect space for a holiday--in a quiet part of town and has a fairly private outdoor space. Only thing of note: if you are vertically gifted (over 6'6"), be aware that the ceiling in the bedroom is short.

Cute and comfortable stay!

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at my casita. We somehow misread the listing and realized quickly there isn't a stove or oven in the rental. I would recommend a hot plate. Other than that we had a lovely and comfortable stay!

Great little place for the money

  • 4 of 5

My Casita packs a lot into a small space, and in Marfa terms is a great deal. I was very comfortable during my three night stay. Situated on the northwestern edge of town, I was treated to several fantastic West Texas sunsets. Though small, My Casita has a generous full bath with an on demand hot water system, great for those chilly desert nights. The little kitchenette has a fridge, sink, microwave, and coffee maker.conplete with coffee, sugar, milk, and a few water bottles, which were a life saver. A restful and quiet refuge. Thanks, Lauren!
