Description

Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday home in Antigua

2 Bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 terraces in exclusive development, sleeps 4/6

Our house is located in a cul de sac with spectacular views of harbour, coastline, mountains, golden sandy beaches and overlooking 2 championship golf courses, the older of which hosted the 2004 Spanish Open. This well furnished house is only 25 meters from the communal pool and children's pool. It is located a short walk from the resort of Calete de Fustes. You can dine al fresco on the upstairs patio, relax and sunbathe on the solarium and breakfast downstairs in the all year round sunshine. The house has recently had UK and Irish TV Stations installed and also has a wireless access point allowing multiple connections to the Internet.

Local help and support: Our property manager Pam lives nearby and is always available for your queries and offer an excellent service. She will meet you at the house with the keys and explain all the workings of the property. All bedlinen and towels are provided including beach towels and a hair-dryer. Changes of bedlinen are left out for stays of 2 weeks or longer. if you wish to have the linen changes done for you or to have extra cleaning this can be arranged and paid for locally with Pam.

Tourist attractions: There is plenty to see and do for all ages. The following are just some of the attractions available:-

the wildlife park La Lajita is a must for all the family and has wonderful sea lion, reptile, birds of prey and parrot shows and a camel safari; the dunes south of Corralejo; the stunning beaches at Costa Calma, El Cotillo and Morro Jable; the caves at Ajuy; island of Los Lobos; day trips to Lanzarote; camel rides on the beautiful beaches; catamaran trips to view dolphins and whales; world surfing championships in July each year on Sotavento Beach; beaches and spectacular coastline of Jandia; BAKU water park in Corralejo; visit to Las Rotondas in Puerte del Rosario which has 70 shops including Zara, Massimo Dutti; Spa Balnearia in Calete where you can treat yourself to a day of pampering for as little as GBP 13.

Travel and tours: Car hire is recommended if you wish to tour the island. However, taxi are reliable, plentiful and can be hired at a relatively low cost. Excellent bus and boat tours are available to the major sights on the island and also to Lanzarote. We can recommend car hire firms if requested. Cars can be hired from as little as GBP 70 per week. We would recommend air conditioning.

Bus travel is also efficient and inexpensive and a round trip from Calate to Las Rotondos will cost approximately GBP 2.

We have compiled a comprehensive guide to the local area and the island, offering advice about local restaurants, excursions, local attractions, public transport timetables to help you make the most of your holiday in Fuerteventura.

Ryanair has 3 flights weekly from Dublin on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, once weekly on Saturday from Shannon and has begun direct services from Liverpool, Dusseldorf and Frankfurt.

Great home from home

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent 2 weeks at this villa. It served us for everything we required as a home from home. It is a bit up the hill from shops etc but we dont mind the walk and the taxis back are really cheap and reliable.

The villa its self was really clean and was great for those relaxing days. The sun terrace and roof terrace where great for chilling in the sun.

The kitchen had everything required to cook and we often had breakfast/lunch sitting outside.

The British tv and dvd player was also great for a night in. We even ordered chinese and relaxed with a movie one night when we couldn't be bothered heading out. Great option to have.

We have been to Caleta many times and will be returning to Kielans villa agin this year.

To summarise, great villa, set in a lovely place and perfect to enjoy a relaxing time in the sun :)

All the best

Martin and Karen

Back Again - Dave and Meriel, Lancaster

  • 5 of 5

Well, we offer no apology for writing another review, two years after our first, and after our fifth visit to the apartment. We have fallen in love with the simplicity of Fuerteventura and our holidays have been made even better by the accomodation. It is still as we found it at first and looked after lovingly. Everything you need for a good stress free break is provided. Although we have never met or even spoken to Kielan we feel we know him and Loretta through regular emails. We have now also shared the apartment with two other couples who loved it as well.

We still hire a car each time we come and spend quite a lot of time touring and on the beach at El Cotillo. We always return "home" in the evenings and enjoy a meal on the balcony or at one of the excellent restaurants in Caletta town centre. Recommend the Chinese at the bottom end of the shopping centre who do excellent takeaways or you can eat in for the same price in a very pleasant and spotless restaurant.

We are hoping for trip number 6 next year if Kielan will have us!

The quite atmosphere at Chipmunk mountain was just what we needed, weather was very nice and the holiday was enjoyed by all.Although we didnt hire a car we found the taxi service very cheap and punctual. WORTH A VISIT OR TWO OR THREE OR FOUR

  • 5 of 5

May 2010 was our 3rd visit to the apartment on Montana Blanca, Caleta de Fuste.

Set high on the hill above Caleta, it affords wonderful views over the town with it's golf courses and spectacular sun sets (and sun rises if you are up in time). The apartment itself is immaculate with every facility you could need for the comfort of your holiday. Many extras include beach parasols and wind breaks for your days on the beach. We dined many evenings on the balcony soaking up the peace while watching the town bustle below.

There are many excellent restaurants in Caleta and plenty of promenade in each direction for that very pleasant evening stroll. It is also very central for visiting the many lovely beaches on the island. We spent idyllic days on the lagoon beach north of El Cotillo, a sleepy village in the north west of the island with very safe bathing, and we also ventured south to the beautiful sandy beaches of Sotovente. The centre of the island is worth a visit too with breathtaking views and surprising green areas in the midst of barren wastes. We look forward to going back in May 2011 for another two weeks wirh friends.

Great family accomodation!

  • 4 of 5

This property proved ideal for our family of 4 including 2 teenagers.

The 2 bedrooms are on different levels and each has it's own bathroom giving some independence.

The living area with large tv and kitchen/dining area are extremely well equipped with modern amenities allowing for a very comfortable stay.

Outside, the balcony provides a further dining area with barbeque and has superb views over the mountains, coastline and golf courses.

Furthermore the flat roof is an ideal sunbathing spot again with excellent views.

The pool was great for cooling down after a day out on the island, all of which is within an hour's drive.

A car is essential although taxis are frequent and not expensive.

The location is only 10 minutes from the airport, with the town of Calette and its bars, entertainment, beach, restaurants and supermarkets less than 5 minutes away.

Some nearby properties are still under construction though work seemed to have stopped (perhaps for the summer season) and was therefore not a problem.

If staying on Fuerteventura again we would certainly consider stopping here again particularly as Kielan made everything run smoothly.

Calete is a family resort with plenty of attractions including water sports, tennis, golf, fishing, glass bottom boat trips, jeep safaris, mountain biking, mini golf, 10 pin bowling, Spa and Health Centre Balnearia, there is something for everyone. It features a pleasant horse shoe shaped bay complete with safe family beaches and a sports marina. The sandy beaches & turquoise waters are a paradise for windsurfers, divers and sun worshippers. All this is completed with an infrastructure that includes wellness clubs, spas, gyms, 5 star hotel complexes, numerous restaurants and shopping centres, including the Atlantico Shopping Centre which has a bowling centre, table games, boutiques, supermarket, restaurants, coffee shops, banks and bars.

Other Activities: Health spas, camel rides

Golf: Calete now has 2 full 18 hole golf courses. The Fuerteventura Golf Course hosted the Spanish Open in 2004. it is a tough test of golf from the championship tees with plenty of lakes and streams and is all the more difficult when the winds are up. A round of golf in 2007 will cost GBP 40 and excellent sets of clubs can be hired for GBP 12 per day. The club also has trolleys and buggies for hire and has an excellent 30 bay driving range with practice green and bunkers. The club house and shower facilities form part of the 5 star Elba Palace complex which makes for a delightful 19th hole after a round.

A newer course next door has just been completed and a round here will cost GBP 35 per day. Other golf courses are under construction in Gran Tarajal and El Cotillo and a superb looking 18 hole course has recently opened (March 2008) in Jandia in the south.
