About Marketa Rogers

We're a family of 5 that loves the outdoors in all seasons.

Marketa Rogers purchased this cabin in 2014

Why Marketa Rogers chose Mount Hood

We chose this spot in Parkdale because it has everything we were looking for - a close get-away, big views, plenty of greenery and the openess. We love its proximity to both alpine and nordic skiing, hiking and swimming. We know this home will provide a place for family gatherings throughout the years to come!

What makes this cabin unique

A few reasons why we love Cooper Spur Cabin -- Sip your morning coffee and look up at Mount Hood. Enjoy the cherries in July. Walk to the creek along a trail of triliums. Relax by the wood burning stove and watch the snow fall.

A house with a (great) view

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in this lovely house. Marketa was very communicative, and thoughtfully left a bottle of wine for my friends and me to enjoy upon arrival. The house was well equipped with guides for local hikes, and the view from the deck is simply beautiful. The beds are very comfortable and the house provided a wonderful launching point for daily excursions. I highly recommend this as a destination.

So comfortable, beautiful and full of taste!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is gorgeous inside and out, spacious and so comfortable! Great beds, well-stocked, open kitchen and den-like TV room. Stayed cool in the heat of the day, and though we were here in summer I imagine that all the wood burning fire place and stove keeps everything cozy and warm in the winter. View from the deck is magic, and the surrounding area stunningly beautiful. And the owners clearly have excellent taste, as the movies, books and art on the walls were the nicest I've ever seen in a vacation rental. So many lovely etchings, as a printmaker and artist it made my day! My family loved it, and only wished we had longer to spend there. Thank you so much!

Absolutely perfect. Pictures don't do justice to the views of Mt Hood. Great cabin with all you need and also easy access to amazing hikes. Had two small children and they loved it as well. Really didn't want to leave. Highly recommend.

Beautiful cabin, beautiful setting, all the amenities

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in Parkdale recently when we attended our daughter's wedding in Hood River. The cabin was beautiful and very comfortable (although the downstairs was a little on the cool side for the first couple of very rainy days).

All in all, it was clear that the owners had put a lot of thought into the comfort of their guests. There is a notebook full of information about things to do in the area (which we made great use of). There was even a welcoming gift of a bottle of red wine on the counter when we walked in. We shared the cabin with friends and enjoyed having communal meals in the spacious kitchen and playing charades downstairs in the evening.

Once the sun came out (the day of the wedding, yay!), the view of Mount Hood from the deck was spectacular. We would definitely stay here again.

Very comfortable house in beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

We came from the Netherlands to visit our daughter studying in Oregon. We spent Christmas here, surrounded by white mountains and woods. The house fully met our expectations, very cosy with lots of wood, fireplaces and also a lot of space with comfortable couches! We played games inside and went skiing outside, downhill and crosscountry and made nice walks. The view on Mount Hood from the house is spectacular. I would recommend the house! A very special place!

With monumental Mount Hood anchoring the views of this remarkable natural setting, the Mt. Hood region forms one of the most beautiful areas in the United States. With forested mountains, waterfalls, lakes and streams you will find plenty of outdoor adventure. Mt. Hood is home to 4 ski areas and offers the country's only year-round skiing and snowboarding at Timberline. Timberline Lodge is a National Historic Landmark and is a perfect 1/2 day trip from Parkdale.

Parkdale is at the heart of the Upper Valley, where orchards meet forests and the double mountain view can leave one breathless. It is the ideal location for those wanting to hike, mountain bike, road bike, swim, fish or take advantage of the alpine and nordic ski areas.

Parkdale is the end stop to the historic Mt. Hood Railroad, so book a family ride on this scenic tour through the apple, pear and cherry orchards! Or drive the famous Fruit Loop Drive and take in miles of local fruit stands, wineries, lavender farms, all in the foreground of Mt. Hood.

Just 20 minutes north of Parkdale is Hood River and the Columbia River Gorge, an incredible playground for the most demanding recreation enthusiast. Hood River has become the kitesurfing/windsurfing epicenter of North America and it is always buzzing on the shoreline of the Columbia. Whether it is to windsurf, mountain bike, kayak, golf, ski, hike, fish, or just relax in the unhurried pace of this historic town, you will fall in love with Hood River. The bustling shopping district is lined with brick, historic buildings. Boutiques, breweries, ice cream, coffee shops, outdoor outfitters, antique shops, art galleries and a fantastic selection of restaurants will leave you wanting for nothing!

Drive 40 miles east of Hood River to the Maryhill Museum for the largest Roden sculpture exhibit in the US and a breath-taking view of the Columbia River Gorge.

This region of the Pacific Northwest is truly as unique as it is inspiring.
