Wonderful gardens, ideal for family holidays within a mile of the coast.

Beech House is a large family home set in over 1.3 acres of mature gardens within a few miles of Newgale Beach and .5 miles of the Pembrokeshire coast national park. Sleeping up to 8 guests Beech House is ideal for families with children with extensive gardens and within easy reach of the award winning beaches at Whitesands, Marloes, Newgale etc and the delightful villages of Solva and St Davids

A lovely family home sleeping up to 8 guests in 4 bedrooms and a extra double futon bed in library. Large country style kitchen, large dining room to seat 8 with French doors to patio and gardens. Two living rooms one with Bluthner grand piano, 3 bathrooms with tubs and showers all set in mature gardens only 1.4 miles from award winning blue flag beach of Newgale and wonderful Pembs coast path.

Beech house is a family home for much of the year and as such is ideal for a family holiday with all the comforts of home. The large (over an acre) gardens consist of two lawns and large patio areas, the smaller lawn is perfect for younger children and is a sheltered suntrap idea for out side dining.

The sleeping arrangements consist of: two single rooms, one with views of the 13C Norman castle and the other with distant sea views over fields. One twin room with garden and country views and one double room with wash basin, built in wardrobes etc. There is an additional double futon bed in the downstairs library which is both comfortable and has a small downstairs toilet, washbasin and cloakroom immediately adjacent.

Beech house has two family bathrooms with full baths, shower and toilets at each end of the upstairs corridor which helps with the morning rush before a busy day at the beach.

The large kitchen dining room takes advantage of two sets of french doors looking out over the outdoor dining patio and smaller lawned area providing large amounts of light and with seating for up to 9 guests at the farmhouse style table. The kitchen has a large amount of storage, and has most essential appliances as well as a walk in larder.

The sitting room consists again of two conjoined living rooms one with TV etc the other with grand piano and french doors to a second smaller patio.

Guests additionally have access to a vegetable plot and polytunnel which generally contains a range of salad crops as well as an area of woodland with summer house which offers sea views and a whole new perspective. Many previous guests in the past have enjoyed this area with their dogs or as nature exploration with smaller children.

Roch village has a local shop and post office which offers most day to day necessities, as well as locally sourced products including craft ales and seasonal produce. The local pub is a 7-10 minute walk away along a quiet secluded footpath and offers a range of real ales, well regarded food and a welcoming atmosphere.

The majority of visitors who come to Pembrokeshire look forward to the incredible coastline the county offers, with a real variety of beaches and coastline there is almost certainly something for everyone. From the rugged exposed headlands and tiny sandy coves of the north of the county, to the limestone cliffs and bays of the south the scenery on a sunny summers day is often astounding with wonderful sunsets and the specific quality of light which is so typical of Pembrokeshire. Beech House is perfectly located to be within easy distance of both the north and south of the county, meaning guests can opt for either a 1.5 mile journey to the blue flag surfing beach at Newgale with over 2 miles of sand, or venture a little further afield to the wonderful cove at Barafundle, often voted amongst the top 15 beaches in the WORLD! and on a good day is more than deserving of the title, or head further north to the more rugged coastline of St Davids head or the wonderful sands of Whitesand beach. Other beaches worth visiting include Marloes and Freshwater West both of which have stared in numerous films due to their outstanding unspoilt natural beauty. For those looking for more excitement the resort town of Tenby offers all the fun of a traditional beach holiday location, and for the more adventurous kite surfing, surfing, sailing, diving, coasteering and paddle boarding can all be tried out at Newgale or around, with hire shops in St Davids (approx 8 miles away) or on the beach itself at Newgale.

We welcome pets, and dogs will delight in the large garden and wood filled with scents and smells, and their owners will enjoy the quite countrylanes and many footpaths that crisscross the area around Beech House.

Why Robert E Smith chose Roch

Beech house was and is a family home, and as such has realistic comfortable sleeping capacity. Unlike many "holiday lets" which strive to fit as many beds as possible into the space, Beech house has large rooms with a real feeling of space. We haven't fitted three bunk beds into a single room or squeezed triples into doubles. We sincerely feel that a holiday should feel like a holiday with the space and freedom to express and feel entirely at home and comfortable. With the secluded gardens, views, proximity to the beach and comfortable sleeping we hope that this is what we offer and that guests will enjoy.

What makes this house unique

The unique Pembrokeshire light, especially the sensational sunsets, coupled with the south facing aspect of the house with its mature and very carefully considered gardens and its perfect location just minutes from a sensational beach... what is there not to like

Excellent family rental in a rural location

The property is a very well maintained spacious home, with excellent gardens ideal for a family group. Located in between St David's and Haverford West the setting was ideal for day trips and the beach. The owners were very helpful and even gave advice on the best walking in the area. Local shop was well stocked and all the usual larger supermarkets were to be found a few miles away in Haverford West.

A house not too far from a nice beach

A bit disappointed - expensive and quite dark, bit run-down (think 'Grandma's house'), not brilliant kitchen facilities - very small fridge, no dishwasher - not very comfortable beds, the 'veg plot'/ peach tree( advertised as available for guests) was non-existent; it was adequate but I wouldn't recommend it to a friend, not for the price. And there was no luxury anything to enjoy.....

I'm sorry you had such a negative holiday and I do sincerely hope you find the more luxurious and cheaper holiday experience this year. To be honest I dont think Beech House is advertised as a luxurious, and your description of "grandma's house" is quite apt, that is kind of what Beech House is, 1950s Architectural design, quirky touches, but yes, not gleaming chrome and glass. The only issue I have is regarding the peach tree... there are 6 peach trees and 3 nectarines, so not sure how you could have missed them, tho I agree the veg garden was past its best by August, my apologies. Thanks again for the review, all the best for 2018 and hope you have a great holiday this year to recompence for last years. Regards Rob

A wonderful space to enjoy as an extended family, great garden!

We enjoyed a week of relaxing in the peaceful house and garden at Beech Cottage. We were able to have some lovely meals around the table together and really enjoyed being able to be outside in the garden. The summer house is a peaceful place for an afternoon nap or to do some painting. We also enjoyed exploring nearby Solva and surfing at Whitesands Bay - absolutely beautiful (and really easy to hire kit at Newgale). We thought it was amazing to have a lovely piano to play as well - an unusual bonus! A brilliant place for a family holiday.

Pembrokeshire also holds 11 international Blue Flag beaches, 5 of which are within 10 miles of Beech House. The opportunities for walking, cycling and horse riding are plentiful and the beaches regularly attract surfers from around the world. Finally there is a flourishing art scene with many galleries especially in St Davids and Solva, both of which are within 8 miles of Beech House, and a ever improving restaurant and dining experience with many unique restaurants offering local and seasonal produce in charming settings.
