This is exactally what I was looking for!! Peaceful and Relaxing

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at The Country House for a friends Easter day wedding. It was perfect! Plenty of room for the four of us. We did have to call Carlton to come show us how to work the Direct TV. He was very friendly and didn't seem inconvenienced at all. The part we loved the most was ALL of the outside living. We spent most of my time there on the large porch, with the beautiful view and also walking around the yard. Coming from Michigan, where spring just now is blooming, it was great to be outside and see the flowers and colorful trees. One thing I would suggest, is a microwave oven. I hate to admit it, but we missed having one available. We hope someday to make it back that way and enjoy some more "Happy Days" in The Beautiful Country House!

Thank you!

St. Louis to Marshall

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was great and the property was wonderful. We were able to visit with family and friends, there was enough room for the 5 of us who traveled from St. Louis, and we never ran out of hot water. The owners could not have been more helpful or accommodating. Every email was answered immediately and any problems were taken care of just as quickly. We didn't really have problems, just an annoying battery in the smoke alarm.

The only thing that could have made the stay even more like home would have been a microwave. However, we will be coming back to the area this summer and are already planning on staying here provided it is not already booked.

Thank you to the owners of the Country House!

Home Away from Home

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed at the Country House for a month this fall. The house is beautiful and when you walk in you feel like you are home right away. The property is amazing - our kids had an amazing time fishing, swinging and riding the zip line. We can't wait to go back for a visit!!! The hospitality was five star, everyone was so kind and understanding - we LOVE the Country House!

Highly Recommend

  • 5 of 5

Would definitely recommend The Country House. Lovely setting in a wooded area with private pond. Quick highway access to mountains, historical sites, and Washington D.C. The house is modern, spacious, clean, and has lots of space. There is a great front porch to relax and enjoy the surrounding nature. In addition to being fully furnished, including several attractive antiques, the house is equipped with all utensils needed for cooking and serving meals. Beds are comfortable and linens are clean. Room temperatures in the house were very comfortable with zoned thermostats. WiFi Internet access is readily accessible in the house. Cell phone access is not available in the immediate area, but the owners have thoughtfully provided land lines. We arrived late and did not get to meet the property manager, but our communications were all professional and pleasant. Hope to return to The Country House to spend more time!

Owner's Response: Robert and his family were the perfect 5 Star guests for The Country House! We greatly look forward to hosting Robert again soon! We can HIGHLY recommend Robert and his family as guests! The dishes were done and trash placed in trash room and The Country House was left looking beautiful! All we can say is, "Robert, come back soon to The Country House!" Respectfully, Sarah Scott and The Country House staff.

Lovely and Peaceful

  • 5 of 5

A group of friends rented the farmhouse to attend a wedding in the area. It was the perfect jumping off point to explore the Piedmont, and offered plenty of space for us all to spread out. The giant tub in the master bath was an unexpected luxury! Our only regret was that the weather was terrible and we didn't get to enjoy the patios and the pond. No AT&T phone signal but the house has wifi.

Beautiful retreat for family reunion

  • 5 of 5

We spent 9 days at the Country House and had an excellent time. We have lots of family in the Northern Virginia area, and this house allowed us to visit with them in a retreat-like setting. The location could not be better, we spent a day in DC, a day on Skyline Drive, and many days visiting friends in family all over Northern Virginia. The house is absolutely beautiful, was very clean, and well appointed. The grounds are breathtaking, and the owners were very accommodating and helpful. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Owner's Response: Susan was an absolutely fabulous guest! We were delighted to hear that Susan was happy and comfortable entertaining her family and friends in the Northern Virginia area, and that The Country House allowed her to visit with them in a retreat-like setting. As Susan said, The Country House location could not have been better for spending a day in DC, a day on Skyline Drive, and many days visiting friends in family all over Northern Virginia. Susan also mentioned that the house is absolutely beautiful, was very clean, and well appointed. The grounds she said are breathtaking, and Mike and I were very accommodating and helpful. Susan stating she and her guests would stay here again in a heartbeat meant everything to us as hosts. We have enjoyed all of our guests and so look forward to hosting Susan and her guests again soon at The Country House. And we would highly recommend Susan to any host! The house was left spotless, they were completely respectful of the antiques and property. Fabulous, friendly and kind guests! Our very best, Mike and Sarah
