Our first review! Sarah's house is a beautiful, recently-renovated hidden gem near the Shenandoah national park. It's spacious yet cozy for our group of 7. We really enjoyed our time there. Highly recommended for any groups who are in town for a weekend of hiking. Did I mention that there is a pond within their 8-acre compound? A lovely escape from the hustle and bustle of city life just by itself! John from New York City, NY.

Beautiful country house

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed staying in the country cottage. The home itself is very charming. We spent a lot of time indoors since the land the home is on is a little sloping. It is a great base to do day trips but in the immediate vicinity we did not have a lot of activities for our young children.

This is exactally what I was looking for!! Peaceful and Relaxing

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at The Country House for a friends Easter day wedding. It was perfect! Plenty of room for the four of us. We did have to call Carlton to come show us how to work the Direct TV. He was very friendly and didn't seem inconvenienced at all. The part we loved the most was ALL of the outside living. We spent most of my time there on the large porch, with the beautiful view and also walking around the yard. Coming from Michigan, where spring just now is blooming, it was great to be outside and see the flowers and colorful trees. One thing I would suggest, is a microwave oven. I hate to admit it, but we missed having one available. We hope someday to make it back that way and enjoy some more "Happy Days" in The Beautiful Country House!

Thank you!

St. Louis to Marshall

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was great and the property was wonderful. We were able to visit with family and friends, there was enough room for the 5 of us who traveled from St. Louis, and we never ran out of hot water. The owners could not have been more helpful or accommodating. Every email was answered immediately and any problems were taken care of just as quickly. We didn't really have problems, just an annoying battery in the smoke alarm.

The only thing that could have made the stay even more like home would have been a microwave. However, we will be coming back to the area this summer and are already planning on staying here provided it is not already booked.

Thank you to the owners of the Country House!

Home Away from Home

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed at the Country House for a month this fall. The house is beautiful and when you walk in you feel like you are home right away. The property is amazing - our kids had an amazing time fishing, swinging and riding the zip line. We can't wait to go back for a visit!!! The hospitality was five star, everyone was so kind and understanding - we LOVE the Country House!
