Cannonville is located under the eastern escarpment of Bryce Canyon National Park. It is off of Scenic Byway 12, just 12 miles past Bryce Canyon. Our area is surrounded by red rock outcroppings. Kodachrome State Park is located 10 miles down our main road in town. The Bunk House includes two queen beds and a bunkbed in about 900 square feet. We include a Pack n Play for babies. The large bathroom includes tub and shower and changing area. The bathroom/dressing room is supplied with plush towels, and other amenities. The beds are comfortable with fresh pressed linens upon your arrival. The loft sleeps 3 older children. Sleeping bags preferred. (if bedding needed, please ask) There is a small kitchenette with dishes, utensils, pots and pans and a sink. The toaster/oven is convenient. A small refrigerator (no freezer) includes water and basic condiments. Fresh baked Chocolate Chip Cookies welcome guests to our Country Bunkhouse. There is an available grill if needed outside. (request before arriving) The Country Bunkhouse includes a 55 inch Television screen for TV programs and DVD's, Blue Ray/games as well as a 45” TV in the second bedroom. Several DVD's (family oriented) are included as well as board games/puzzles and children's toys. The Country Bunkhouse has large ceiling fans and a brand new Air Conditioning system. Forced air heating is very efficient. We don't have many extremely hot days and our nights are cool and beautiful. Sleeping with open windows is safe here. However, winter is cold and often snowy. Our night sky is stunning, if you have time to sit on the swing outside to enjoy it. The Grand Staircase Visitors Center is in the center of town near the town park for questions about hikes, weather and places to go. Don’t hesitate to ask us (the Scoffield’s) for any suggestions or for any items you might need.

About Cherie Scoffield
We inherited this 100 year old property and moved here in 2003. We are retired, and working locally. My husband is the Garfield County Tourism Representative around the world for our beautiful area. We raised seven children and now have 19 grandchildren. We were born and raised in Utah but lived in several other states. My husband is a Navy Captain and is very patriotic. We love yard work, hiking, the canyon, and the close knit community we live in.
Why Cherie Scoffield chose Cannonville
We go to great lengths to insure you a wonderful stay at the Country Bunkhouse. The Bunkhouse sparkles and we deep clean after every guest. We respect your privacy and welcome children. A swing set is available for use and large lawn area for other games. We have a fire circle out beyond the Bunkhouse with a stage for family performances. Guest are welcome use it upon request. We will provide the wood and matches for the fires.
What makes this Cottage unique
Our home is located under the escarpment of Bryce Canyon which is 12 miles away. The drive to and from is always an enjoyable one. The views from our home feature red rock formations and the white mountains as well as the small town country setting with sheep, cows, horses etc. It is a peaceful small town of only 150-200 residents, quiet, beautiful and a place of healing from the noise and crowds and fast pace of city life.

Great place and location
Close to Bryce and Escalanate.
Nice beds and living areas.
Great location and quiet
My husband and I stayed here 2 nights while visiting Escalante and surrounding areas. The accommodations are very quiet and comfortable in a beautiful setting. Everything was clean and the bathroom is spacious. The visitor information center is within walking distance and offered great suggestions for hiking in the area. The owner's communication leading up to our stay was excellent and we enjoyed our brief visit with her. I would definitely stay here again. I highly recommend the Bunkhouse.
The bunkhouse was a lovely retreat for our family after a day of hiking and traveling. It was immaculate and well appointed--very welcoming! Plenty of room for our family of three and then some. There is a bedroom that sleeps at least three (one double and bunk beds) in addition to the queen bed in the main room, plus a loft. We didn't use the kitchenette much but appreciated the refrigerator and having a sink in the common area. The bathroom is huge and had everything we needed. This place is so quiet and off the beaten path. It is perfectly located between Bryce and Kodachrome Basin State Park. We were able use the bunkhouse as a home base for visiting both, as well as Grand Staircase-Escalante Nat'l. Monument. Another huge bonus--if you drive just a mile or so down the road, the stargazing is AMAZING.
Thank you so much for the review. You made the most of your trip here seeing our beautiful area. We think it should be the 8th Wonder! Come again.
Very cute, great Bryce location, considerate host
This was a perfect home base for my husband, 2-year old son and I. It's a short 20 minute drive into Bryce. It was clean and had everything we needed. Easy to find, easy in/out. And for my 2 year old, she provided a crib and a bucket of toys -- he was in heaven. I'd stay here again. Thanks!
Thanks for the review and for coming to stay at the Country Bunkhouse. You are welcome here anytime.
Great four-night stay
Great place for two couples. Kitchenette is a bit tight, but well equipped with all the needed appliances, eating and cooking utensils, etc. We (two couples) really enjoyed our stay. Great access to hikes, parks, etc. Be sure to try the Willis Creek hike and the Tropic to Bryce NP trail.
Great home base for exploring Bryce and Grand staircase Escalante
My family enjoyed our stay at the bunkhouse. It is super clean and very nicely decorated. There are toys and movies, but our kids spent many hours playing make believe in the loft. The area is perfect for exploring the beautiful region. The kids loved hiking the hoodoos and a slot Canyon. Would definitely like to come back soon!
PS the chocolate chip cookies really are delicious
Thank you for the review! Come again!!!
