Not what I expected based on pictures presented on website.

  • 2 of 5

This is a quaint, little cottage. It had the exact feel that we were looking for. However, that was about it. I had specifically inquired about my Dad (78) being able to view the river, and was led to believe that this cabin sat right on the Shenandoah River. NOT TRUE!! Very disheartening, as this was what my Father wanted. We were okay with the few 'bugs'. You kind of expect that when you rent a rental, so we just dealt with them. The other major issue was the fact that there is an additional unit for rent (they were working on it), that was located literally next to our driveway. For two to three of our nights, work was done on the other unit into the 'wee' hours of the morning. In fact, one night they worked all night long. I did not pay to hear this type of noise all night long. It literally kept us up, due to the power saws running. The cottage, cute. Nothing else regarding our stay was. I was very disappointed in the misrepresentation of the river, and the sounds of work the entire stay!

Owner's Response: I do not advertise being on the river. I advertise river access 235 yards down a path. The construction crew promised me they would not use any noisy machines. I am sorry about that. However the house next door flooded and the work had to be completed.

Beautiful cabin

  • 3 of 5

The cabin itself is beautiful and has a rustic charm. We enjoyed the horse shoe pit, fit pit, hot tub and hammock. We also saw butterflies and hummingbirds out the back window. In the photos online it looks like the river is visible from the cabin, it is not. It is a short walk away down a gravel path and There are a lot of trees all around, you can not see the river until you reach it. There is a fire pit near the river access point but that is about it. It is a steep walk to enter The river from this point. The cabin is close to Luray Caverns and Shenandoah national park. Both are wonderful to visit.

Owner's Response: I am sorry you thought I misrepresented my cabin. In the description I clearly state the location of the river. Bill and I have invested a lot of time to make our cabins stand out above others. They are well decorated, very clean and have loads of personal touches to make people feel at home. Reviews can be extremely damaging. You obviously did not take the time to read about the cabin. The title clearly reads hot tub, river access! Not river front! I encourage any future guest to please look over my pictures and descriptions.

Great property and great owners!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at this property for a family get together for two nights. The cabin is great and had everything we needed. The yard is large with hot tub, horse shoe pits, and a nice patio to relax on. I would rent this cabin again.

Wonderful family vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay with our two boys ages 13 and 7. The cabin was perfect for everything we needed. It was well-equipped with all of our cooking needs, as we cooked breakfast and grilled out every day. The boys loved the hot tub and fire pit. Cara was very accommodating for our requests for linens and returned phone calls very quickly. Overall a great vacation and we made lots of good memories!
