Lovely and relaxing time.Would definitely stay there again.
My family enjoyed the warm cozy gathering in this lovely home. The owners Bill and Cara are gracious people and take pride in presenting both Style and Class to their enticing cottage. It is easy to give full stars to such a grear place. There is so much provided to their guests as in the private river access, the private pond, a fireplace, 2 firepits, the grill, horseshoes, the hammock, and of course the jacuzzi. We enjoyed it all as a family. If you are like us, You will find yourself thanking the owners for providing such a great space and warm home, that greated awesome family memories.
The cabin was in a great location -- we fished, we hiked, we made campfires and we RELAXED! It was great to have a nice place to come back to at the end of a long day of hiking. We cooked dinners in the lovely kitchen, ate at the dining room table while enjoying the stereo and then enjoyed the hot tub each evening.
Amazing cabin - perfect for a weekend get-away.
Fishing in the river within walking distance.
Kitchen was great to prep meals in - and the family room area was great for games and movies late at night. The hot tub was a blessing after a long day of hiking.
Cara and Bill are gracious hosts, and we hope to be back!
The cabin has a wonderful location, with river access a short walk away. Raft, kayak, and canoe rentals are less than a mile down the road. You can't use your mobile phones, and there's no Internet connection: these factors are either a plus or a minus, depending on your perspective. For us, it meant forcing our kids away from their screens, which was a big plus.
We enjoyed the layout of the cabin, which isn't huge but still seemed open and airy. We had six people, but it didn't seem crowded. All of the fixtures, appliances, and amenities worked properly, and we used them all (hot tub, grill, horseshoes, oven, stove top, etc.) I would definitely recommend it for families or anyone who wants to relax near the Shenandoah.
Within walking distance of Shenandoah River Outfitters.
