About the property

Located in the pretty and peaceful Flamingo Hills II development in Playa Flamenca. The south facing terrace overlooks the pool and receives sunshine all day from mid-morning onwards. It also benefits from having a huge private roof top solarium, offering panoramic views of Playa Flamenca and the sea. Great for relaxing on the sun loungers all day! The apartment is spacious and has everything you need. Playa Flamenca is an up and coming popular resort with many fine restaurants, bars and shops. Flamingo Hills II is located in a peaceful area, yet within walking distance to many amenities.

The apartment is situated on the first floor with a staircase leading up to the apartment. It is then spread across two floors - a large living area plus upstairs outside roof top area. It has a fully fitted open plan kitchen, leading onto a separate dining area then lounge area. This opens onto a terrace with table and chairs. There are two good size bedrooms, one double and one with two single beds( these can become a double bed if needed), bathroom with a shower. The pool is immediately in front of the apartment and there is a shallow kid’s area one end. This is a private pool for Flamingo Hills II only, an urbanisation of both residents and holiday makers, and is generally quiet and uncrowded. The complex has security gates.

There is a small supermarket and newsagent nearby for your essentials, then bigger supermarkets 1.2K away (Carrefour/ Lidl).

Local entertainment includes live bands, bingo, karaoke, Spanish dancing, cabarets. Playa Flamenca is a costal resort for families, couples, elderly and golfers alike and is located 10 km south of Torrevieja. There are 3 beaches nearby – Punta Prima, Playa Flamenca and Zenia beach. Both Playa Flamenca and Zenia beaches have beach bars/cafes and volley ball nets. The Zenia beach also has a children’s climbing frame, kids playground area and water sports. In the summer the beaches have lifeguards.

Great Apartment , and Location

Just back from our 3rd visit to Amanda's apartment . we had a great time apartment was nice and clean as usual every thing we needed was there , even better this visit with the A/C in the rooms .As always Amanda was always easy to get in touch with when we were booking the apartment and very good at letting us get into the apartment early on the day we arrived , The location off the apartment is great the pool right outside is great and was nice and quiet when we were there . Not that a far walk to bars and restaurants. Go out side gate cross the road walk straight down the street turn right walk down and you will find the Cavern Bar good food and music . We will definitely be back and will recommend to friends , Thanks again Amanda

Tired, in need of urgent update

Be advised several steep steps up to apartment. Car required if over 60 as distances to supermarkets etc further than advised (walking). Linen disgraceful, towels 1 bath and 1 hand per person, hard and old! Bed pillows on leaving, I took linen off bed and badly stained, no pillow protectors. Whilst there the water boiler leaked, I had to empty the bowl underneath 3 times a day. If renting winter months no heating, other than a Calor Gas stove, but you ha e to replace the gas if empty at a charge of 15 Euro and if you do not have a car then have to take the empty cannister to a garage to replace! I did advise the owner who knew that I was over 60 and without a car, she did get the cleaner to replace and paid the charge but not good!!!!! For large shops car required, supermarket a good half an hour walk and to carry shopping unadviseable. I tried to contact the owner on several occasions to no avail. Sofas old and covered with throws, scatter cushions on sofas disgusting. I suppose you get what you pay for! Please e sure that a car is hired, please ensure if over a certain age you are made aware of the location and steps up to the apartment, I did but unfortunately honesty for me was t the best policy.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking time to send in your thoughts. Yes, it is a first-floor apartment and there are steps leading up to the front door. This is noted in the property description; we perhaps can put that in bold or underline to highlight this. Majority of our over 60’s who regularly visit do not hire cars, but with the weather being so bad when you were there and being on your own, this would have been helpful on this occasion. As you are aware, we communicated many times during your week stay via email, text and on the phone and as a result had further towels and replacement gas cylinder arranged for you immediately, that same day. Within our self-catering apartment, we do provide one bath towel and one hand towel per guest and thereafter guests normally use the washing machine facilities should they need to. A convenience store for your food supplies is just 650m away, it is a shame you were not able to find that or locate that using the maps sent over to you before and during your stay, I agree half hour with heavy bags is too much. It is unfortunate that after ten years, our boiler gave up during your stay. I am sure you appreciate that it is something that can’t be predicted and is out of our control. However, I am pleased that it did not affect your hot water while there. We have now had this replaced with a completely new boiler, in time for our next guests. As you can see from our previous reviews, our guests have enjoyed their stays, giving us some wonderful testimonials and come back regularly. I am sorry to learn that this did not meet your expectations. I appreciate that everyone has different tastes and requirements. I hope this addresses your concerns and that you can see our good intention to respond quickly to your requests during your stay. We do acknowledge your comments and wish you well in finding suitable accommodation for your next holiday.

Had a lovely time. Location is very good.the area is very well looked after and .

We enjoyed our stay here the apartment was very clean and had everything you need very clean and comfortable. The pool is very well well looked after and is right outside the apartment. We would definitely stay here again. It is very well centralised for nice pubs and restaurants. We have been to the area a few times now and stopped in different places but really enjoyed this one it has a really good roof terrace with good views not that we used it but we tended to sit on the balcony plenty of sunshine on there. We would give it 5 stars.

A well positioned and spacious appartment.

This is really good apartment. Plenty places to eat within easy walking, 10 to 20 minutes distant.

Owner is very quick at responding to contact messages and helpful.

Couple of niggles but they are going to be rectified, so I would recommend this appartment to anyone. Maybe not good for those that can't do stairs or walk far.

A beautiful & perfect relaxing resort

I must say, from the point of enquiry, pre booking, to returning home, Amanda (owner) delivered 1st class service. Way more than my expectations.

She provided us with so much information prior to departing thus giving us the ability to plan in advance our trip without the need of much research of the area.

Playa Flamenca, I have to say is beautiful. That & all the surrounding areas are all residential. No built up high rise hotels & apartment blocks that make you feel suffocated.

The apartment was excellent. Two spacious bedrooms & bathroom, open plan kitchen/diner leading onto the balcony which overlooked the pool, and the b's & e's was the roof top sun terrace. Huge !

You had the sun ALL day.

Everything that you need for relaxation & a more lively atmosphere is all on the doorstep within a max of 15 minutes walk.

Playa Flamenca commercial centre, 10 mins away max has a wide variety of bars & restaurant's. Also 5 mins away is La Florida, a small but lively suburb.

All high quality I may add. Must try restaurants are Spud Murphy's (Irish) with the best fish & chips I've had, Serrano's (Italian), Sunrise (American,International), Semana 8 (Chinese) WOW & Mumbai Blue (Indian in La Florida) MAJOR WOW.

Visit the Abbey Taven (Irish) for live events

Celtic Drop (Irish pub) have many live bands on also in Playa Flamenca. Recommended !

Their are plenty others but you'd need 2 weeks.

Supermarkets near by for all needs, Casablanca international store, Lidl, Carrefour. All seriously cheap. Beers & wines, blimey they may as well give it away it's all that cheap. Spirits cheaper than England.

Playa Flamenca beach is quite small but nice or a further 5 mins walk along from there is La Zenia beach. Much more populated with water sports.

I could go on however I'm giving this a huge thumbs up & a BIG recommendation for a perfect relaxing getaway.

We will definitely be returning.

Beautiful and relaxing overlooking the pool. Quiet location.

The apartment was perfect in a lovely area. Everything was clean and fresh. The temperature was in the thirties so the air conditioning was brilliant. The pool was beautiful and clean. Restaurants were within walking distance.

Nearby Restaurants include: Bar Tropicana, The Cavern Bar, White Rose, The Friendly Bar, The Racing Toast, Restaurant Eden, Kariokin, Fig & Olive (All situated along Calle Clementine just 400m walk away). (Also here is a small Convenience Store/ Mini Supermarket) Indian Cottage, Chinese (400m - 5 min walk). Luna Rossa Punta Prima (Italian - 850m). The Abbey Tavern (950m - 12 mins walk). The New Odd Couple (550m - 7 mins walk), The Celtic Isle (950m - 11 mins walk).

Alternatively, you may wish to try out the many restaurants situated in the to big centres, these are:

1. Playa Flamenca Commercial Centre - two levels of restaurants and bars with a few shops. This is just 1k (10 min walk). The restaurants are quite international, with food from all over the world, eat in or take away.

2. Zenia Boulevard - 1.5 km away (20 min walk) and has 3 floors of stunning shops, restaurants and kids rides. There is a taxi rank outside, should you prefer to ride home. Just €5 back to Flamingo Hills II.

On Saturdays mornings there is a Spanish market just 900 m away ( 10 - 15 mins walk), simply follow the main road in front of the apartment straight down until you reach the Celtic Isle bar. The market is full of bargains and very popular and busy. Opens from 10am - 2pm.

Nearby Supermarkets - the closest is the Convenience Store referred to above. Alternatively, if you need a larger supermarket for a weekly shop then Carrefour or Lidl would be recommended. These are both 1.2 km away, 15 mins if walking, or there are is a taxi number in the apartment should you require it.

Local activities include go-karting, horse riding, diving, cycling, keep fit, bowling, boats trips, fishing, free excursions, tennis courts, kid’s playgrounds. The water park nearby is a good family day out.

The local bus service is excellent and frequent during the summer months. It runs a more limited service in the winter months. A very economical way to get around. This can be found on the main road (N332). One route is to Torreveija where there is a beautiful harbour, with boat trips, waterside evening market, lots of shops and restaurants. Or you may pick up coaches to Benidorm and other popular destinations.
