Barbara Payne purchased this cabin in 2015
The cabin was beautiful inside and out! The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed (except a corkscrew). I stayed here with my parents. My mom and I spent a lot of our time on the huge wrap around porch. The area is so peaceful and quiet. The lake and mountain views as we rode around the neighborhood were absolutely beautiful. My favorite view was from the deck, where we'd watch the sunset in the evenings. Even though the sun was hot, the humidity in the area is very low, making sitting outside during the day much more pleasant than back at home in Louisiana. Overall, we had a wonderfully relaxing vacation and would not hesitate to return to Ms. Barbara's cabin in the future.
I really enjoyed my stay. We had previously stayed someplace that had Dish so Direct TV was a must. The movie channels were a nice surprise. My daughter loved the popcorn machine and movies.
We enjoyed our stay very much and the owner of the cabin was wonderful to deal with , any question or issue was resolved promptly. The cabin was very clean and we had one issue with the grill and she took care of it the next morning. I feel the owner will take good care of her guest. I would recommend this property to anyone who wants to get away to fish the lake or just to enjoy time with the family. Thanks so much!!
I would like to Thank Barbara the owner of this immaculate cabin for everything she did for us. The cabin was very clean and well maintained. We all enjoyed every minute of our vacation here and recommend it to all our family and friends here in Florida upon our return. My wife and kids loved it so much that they already talking about going back in winter time to see if we could get some snow.
It was everything she said. Very laid back and we meet a few neighbors they we friendly. Quiet and very peaceful Really enjoyed the back porch. And Douglas lake was nice.
We shared the cabin with our son's family and his two daughters. The furnishings are very nice with comfortable beds and a wonderful wrap around porch to enjoy the outdoors. The grandkids enjoyed the resort pool, popcorn machine, games, and movies provided by the owner. Everyone really enjoyed our stay and time there and will consider renting it again if and when we return to the area. The owner was very knowledgeable about the area and very accommodating and available while providing good customer service. The five mile drive on the very narrow two-lane road up the mountain to the cabin can be challenging to navigate sometimes with few guard rails and with little to no room for two cars to pass each other in certain places along the road. There is room to park only one vehicle at the cabin in the parking area and no place for children to play around the cabin as it sits on a mountainside with no level area for them to play. We really enjoyed using the wrap around porch and enjoyed dining outside. I would recommend this cabin to friends and relatives if they are agreeable with the parking and playground limitations around the cabin. We loved vacationing in the area. There are many attractions and fun things to do, but few things to do for less than $25 a person and it can easily cost hundreds a dollars a day for the attractions in the area for a family of four. Dollywood and Splash Town can cost a family of four over four hundred dollars a day to enjoy. The traffic on the main boulevard in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg can be very busy and crowded during the day. I recommend the Hollywood Car Show in Gatlinburg, and the Knife Works display in Pigeon Forge.
