The apartment is spacious, nice restaurants close to the unit. Found some garbage when we Took the apartment, like empty bootle underneath the bed. But overall, I highly recommend this unit!
This is a safe neighborhood. Chicago can be dicey but I felt very comfortable here. It's in Uptown, so if you want to walk to the Loop, you're out of luck. Prepare to drive, take an Uber or public transportation. That being said, the neighborhood is quieter. I prefer to stay out of the Loop, so the location worked out nicely for us.
The apartment is roomy enough in most ways. There are 2 bedrooms with dressers & very nicely sized closets but the 3rd bedroom has a tiny closet and no dresser. There is not enough floor space in that room to open up & work out of your suitcase & really no place to put your belongings. The front of the building is realy quite nice; laid with brick pavers & had nice flowers planted.
If you have difficulty walking, note that the stairs in the front to get to the apartment are very steep! If steep stairs are a problem, it will be easier for you to come in the back entrance.
The accommodations were basic & in some ways, lacking & inconsistent. The property description says it sleeps 7-8 but there were only enough chairs for 6 people at the dining room table. There were only 2, very thin, pillows per bed. While the inclusion of the air mattress & bedding was nice, there wasn't an extra pillow for it. The bathroom towels were nice but there were no washcloths nor were there any washcloths or a sponge for washing dishes.
This unit could use more proactive soundproofing measures (adding more carpet, fabrics, etc.) as even the smallest sounds echo & the upstairs neighbors were very loud. The water temperature in the unit was very inconsistent as well. Within the span of a single (very short) shower, the temperate went from "just right" to freezing cold to scalding hot.
Communication with the owner/agent was dicey, at best, and not a great experience. They were quick to collect our money but after that, it took over 10 days for a response and even at that, it was only after I called Ilona directly. We paid for an extra parking space but the permit was not left for us, though that was remedied after we called.
Check out is 11am but the cleaning crew was knocking on our door at 9am, trying to rush us out of the unit and lurked around in the back parking lot until we left. It was just weird.
Bottom line is that this is a safe, basic, no-frills apartment.
This apartment was great for our group of 5 adults in town for a conference. Two of the rooms had closets & dressers, the third was slightly smaller and would have been a tighter fit for 2 adults. The towels in the bathroom are thicker than any I've ever used before! Wonderful!
The living spaces - kitchen/dining & family room are more than adequate for relaxing at the end of the day. The apartment was very clean upon arrival & was well maintained. However, the walls are - we could hear the upstairs tenants when they walked around.
This apartment is in walking distance of some great restaurants and theatres. Also, downtown is a 20 min drive or accessible on the train. For our events, the train was not a good option - we had to plan about an hour for that. The parking space convenient - if it were not there finding street parking would have been a challenge.

We were the first to stay in this apartment and there were some kinks that needed to be fixed - a broken shower faucet, a finish on the floor that really stunk of chemicals. But they fixed those things, and even refinished the floors after we complained, and gave us a partial refund. The manager is responsive and the apartment is spacious, fitting lots of people, and has lots of promise now that the opening issues have been addressed. Close to public transport to downtown.
The owner was very accommodating to us, and the place was very clean. Quiet neighborhood, only thing is it's a little far our from the city. Otherwise, loved the place. Thanks for everything!
The listing was accurate. The apartment was very roomy. Keys were in a lock box, which was convenient and Wifi were great. Ioana responded to my questions promptly. Recommended, especially if you are seeing a show at the Aragon or Paradise theaters.
the train to downtown is two blocks away. An Uber ride will cost about 14 bucks to the Loop. We knew that ahead of time but liked the idea of seeing what Uptown was like and being near the Green Mill.
As music fans, it was great to be able to end our evenings by walking over to the Green Mill, a truly classic jazz bar. Next door to that is the Broadway Cafe, a great place for breakfast if you like old-school diners and your eggs cooked perfectly. Of course, there is a Starbucks on the opposite corner as well. Across the street from the diner is a wonderful Ethiopian restaurant.
