Your hosts Simon and Sonja Gregory
We had an excellent time at the Hytte. We were a party of 8 adults but there were excellent facilities for children. I.E a large garden with badminton net, trampoline and football nets. The Hot Tub was also very relaxing.
The owners Sonja & Simon were lovely and the property was beautifully done out and everything you could possibly need was there. It is a superb property for a disabled or elderly person to stay as well. It is perfectly situated to enjoy the wonderful Northumbrian countryside and is not too far for a day in Newcastle.
The only slight hitch for teenagers was an unreliable internet connection but I'm sure that's more the fault of BT!
We would definitely return and have recommended it widely.
Our daughter recently became ill and less mobile so we were looking for a holiday home which provided accessibility but which was done in a subtle and asthetic way. The Hytte was perfect. Electric beds, a comfortable rise and recline chair and walk in shower - all done in such a way that it did not screem "disabled" There were many other mobility aids available had we required them. The layout of the Hytte was perfect - open plan with a well fitted kitchen and seating both inside and out for 8 of us. The owners had thought of absolutely everything to ensure a perfect holiday. Trampoline, basketball net, tennis for the kids, Hot tub and sauna for the adults and a large parasol to sit in the shade. The amount of tourist information available was incredible and helped us plan many days out. Nice touches like robes available for use with hot tub and colourful crocs in a range of sizes for outdoor escapades in the fabulous garden. There is a really useful room as you enter the Hytte for outdoor gear- it was perfect for us for the pushchair, baby stuff, waterproofs and haversacks etc. The Hytte was spotless and well maintained with everything looking new - although I know it wasnt. The owners live a short distance away and initially this was something I thought might be a problem - but absolutely not - they were on hand if we needed them, provided us with a phone number if we wanted to contact them but remained discreet and at a distance. The welcome pack was indeed welcome and the wine was a good quality wine which was much appreciated.
We have already booked to visit again and would recommend this property to friends and relatives. The photos of the hytte probably do not do it justice - it is a fabulous place to stay whether you are abled or disabled.
This delightful cottage fully met all our expectations and was extremely well equipped and presented.
It is probably the best designed cottage we have have used as regards wheelchair access, but, importantly, the accessibility features in no way detracted from the overall appearance and enjoyment of the property. It was a great experience for the whole family. In particular, the hot tub and sauna made it memorable.
The owners, Simon and Sonja, provided great customer service and made us feel very welcome. We certainly intend to re-visit the property and would not hesitate to recommend it to our friends and family.
AN AMAZING PLACE!!!!
We stayed for our annual 'girls weekeend away' and can honestly say we had a fantastic time.
Sonja and Simon were very welcoming and the hytte was extremelly well presented and maintained. Having a hot tub and sauna just made the experience so much more enjoyable!!!! Truely liberating!!!!
I would strongly recommend a stay here.It has something for everybody.
We're already looking to book again for November!
(Can't really comment on any local attractions / pubs as the Hytte was some relaxing we didn't venture very far!)
The Hytta is a fantastic venue to get together with family or friends and completely relax.
It has everything you could think of and more.....
The Hytta itself is furnished to a very high standard and spotlessly clean. The kitchen is equiped with every possible item you could wish for as is the rest of the lodge.
The view from the lounge is out over the decking and down a large field where there is football, basketball and a large trampeline and home to lots of friendly chickens who come to visit.
Outside the hot tub is big enough to comfortably seat six people and the sauna again is big enough for everyone.
The fresh eggs, bread and milk that are waiting for you on arrival are are real bonus and the owners could not be more accomodating, friendly and helpfull.
I will definately be visiting again very soon!!
