Guestbook comments from the manager

From the moment everyone arrived, they were busy playing (if they wanted to be) or relaxing in the beautiful setting of the property. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the pond - fishing and swimming...adults enjoyed a rather competitive horseshoe competition and relaxing conversations on the deck. The bunkhouse served us well with all the beautiful sleeping arrangements AND all the games. What amazed everyone is that we all were not looking at our phones...we were engaged with each other and actually enjoying it! Each night we looked forward to an outdoor fire and Tony built two huge bonfires that will be unforgettable! I must say that Tony made our visit even that much better! He was 'johnny-on-the-spot' for any repairs and did it with a big smile. We were thankful for his attention to ensure our stay was all that we had hoped it would be. We will, no doubt, refer this property to friends and family. Our family reunion was perfect and the ranch was the perfect place to make the memories!

Thanks for working with me on this event and I hope that you enjoy the rest of your summer!

Outstanding ranch among Montana mountain grandeur

  • 5 of 5

Our family absolutely loved our stay at High Meadow Mountain Ranch. We own a luxury lodge ourselves and have traveled in nice rentals around the world. The ranch is stunningly designed, furnished, decorated and maintained with exceptional attention to detail. The photos here are completely inadequate to show the property.

The landscaping is incredible. The ranch is 450 acres, and there must be 5 acres of manicured lawn, which we used for a huge family game of soccer in the Montana sunset, and there are huge, well-maintained flower gardens. The only buildings you can see from the ranch are part of the ranch! Forested mountains surround you in all directions, and quiet. The stars are so big you can touch them. We saw dozens of humming birds and lots of hawks, eagles and osprey, woodpeckers, and innumerable deer.

Some days we spent the whole day in idyllic bliss at the ranch, other days we left for nearby adventures.

We have an active family, and rafted the famous Alberton Gorge (did a DIY trip renting the rafts from the University of Montana Outdoor Program, in Missoula, rather than hiring a guide), hiked beautiful Squaw Peak (now called Ch-paa-qn), mountain biked around the ranch and the surrounding mountains, kayaked and canoed on the Clark Fork where Ninemile Creek enters, and played and fished in Ninemile Creek on the HMMR property itself.

One night we had a big bonfire on the huge stone terrace, another night we had a small campfire next to the main house. Every morning we went running, hiking or fishing.

Tony C. was a fabulous host, showing us around, keeping everything stocked, and doing anything we asked.

Our family can't wait to go back.

So thankful

  • 5 of 5

I could not be happier with the owners of the house. I booked this house for my wedding and after life changing events they were gracious enough to work with me and my needs when they absolutely did not have to. It is nice to know that the people you are renting from actually care about you and your needs. I recommend this beautiful home to anyone looking for a rental.

Stunning Retreat for Large Family Reunion

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect retreat for our large family this summer. The setting itself was nothing short of amazing, nestled within the mountains of western Montana, a short drive from Missoula. There were not enough days to explore the entire property, but we managed to take advantage of it's outdoor beauty by hiking, horseback riding, biking and playing outdoor games near the main house. With the beautifully renovated barn, small guest house and, porches and expansive lawns, our party of 30 never once felt crammed as there was SO much to do and SO many places to escape, both inside and out. The one day we managed to break away, we visited Glacier National Park, 2 hours away, but were so happy to return to the ranch and just "be."

The ranch care-taker was super attentive to our needs and polite. Whenever we needed something, he was very responsive. He kept the property very neat, trimmed and well stocked with fire wood. The bonfire that he built for us was incredible, a definite highlight of the trip! The owners have given a lot of attention to detail here: the linens, hand and bath towels, bed blankets, pantry items, top of the line soaps and shampoos, games on the patio, fresh flowers throughout...

We spent a lot of time in the kitchen as we all love to cook. It is quite expansive in with regards to size and stock, large enough to accommodate us all whether we were cooking, washing, or playing games at the large table. The under-counter fridge was huge and very efficient, especially for our large group, everyone had space in the fridge for their "must-haves."

This property is one of the finest, well-cared for, well stocked, active properties that we have ever stayed in; we will be back!

Heaven is a place on Earth

  • 5 of 5

This ranch is nothing short of amazing. It's quiet and peaceful, while providing you with energizing bursts of that 'Awww' feeling we all love so much. We held a gathering at HMMR that was simplified and perfected by the beauty of this property. If you're looking for a relaxing and scenic taste of western Montana, this is the place to do it. We all can't wait to go back and relive the magic!

WEDDING

  • 5 of 5

Perfect wedding venue! the scenery alone is all the decorations required. Our daughter and son in law couldn't have been more happier. The property was a perfect setting for the out of state guests to get a BIG taste of Montana. There was room for every one comfortably.

The kitchen was large enough for the families to eat and prepare the wedding meal as well! The fresh eggs and stocked pantry was very helpful. The fridge had enough space enough to hold the wedding feast. Amazing !

The barn housed the bachelor party, than the grooms family. The pretty cottage housed the brides party, than the couple after the wedding. It was a perfect get away for them after the ceremony. On into the evening the families enjoyed a Bon fire and roasting marshmallows. Fabulous property for larger groups .

Would love to return again!
