Cozy Mountain Chalet with Great Mountain View

*** "Bearadise" and its views did NOT experience any damage. Everything here looks just like it always has. Downtown Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park re-opened on December 9, and we are so grateful that almost all of downtown Gatlinburg and 97% of the national park was spared. Thank you for your prayers!! Please continue to pray for those that were affected, and for all the emergency personnel that came to help.

Bearadise is a cozy, yet modern, "pet friendly" chalet nestled among the trees with gorgeous mountain views. Nicely appointed with a whimsical bear theme, this chalet features a floor to ceiling stack-stone fireplace with wood burning insert, a 47" flat screen TV in the living room, high-speed WIFI throughout the chalet for all your internet needs or for “streaming,” washer and dryer, two king beds (one up and one on the main floor) & a queen size sleeper sofa in the loft; two full baths, a game room upstairs equipped with a foosball table, and X-Box 360 connected to a 32" flat screen for the kids. The kitchen is updated with solid surface counter tops, is fully equipped for meal preparation and includes a CD player/radio. The large wrap-around deck has a gas JennAir grill and lots of seating for taking in the views. A wood burning fire pit built into the stack-stone wall on the deck is great for the cool nights or just for making s’mores. Short walk to the pool around the corner or drive to one of the other 2 pools.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Good Morning Dave -

We had such a great visit and stay and your home this past week. Everything was what we were looking for in a vacation home for us to enjoy the time away from our everyday lives. It was clean and spacious and well maintained. I really liked the fact that there were multiple things to do for the little ones while we were there. My oldest son loved the fact that he could play the XBOX while we were inside for the day.

The drive in to town and all the shops were as close as you said they were. It is a lovely place to visit with so many things to see and experience while we were there. We did a hiking trail and horseback riding which was extremely fun for the ones that could go. We really enjoyed the view of the mountains from the deck also. There is nothing like waking up every morning and experiencing the mountain views.

I did write a review on the VRBO website to share our experience and to say how much of a great time we all had this past week.

Thank you for your timely response to our questions we had during our stay. It was very helpful. We all had an amazing time the past few days and thank you for the opportunity to stay at Bearadise.

Almost too good to be true

  • 5 of 5

Two years ago we adopted our wonderful rescue dog Birdie in January; as part of our bonding and her belated socialization training, my wife and I agreed to take a January family vacation with her each year. In 2015 we went to Heber Springs, AR, in 2016 we went to Grayton Beach, FL, and then this past week we went to Bearadise in Cobbly Nob. All have been great experiences, but neither of the previous two came close to the joy and fun we just had together on the mountain. First and perhaps foremost to some folks, this property is immaculate with everything in good working order, no surprises; if you are not traveling with a dog and are uncertain about the cleanliness of a pet-friendly property, you need not worry AT ALL. But if you are going there with your best 4-legged friend(s), this is an ideal setup: good areas to walk/hike on Cobbly Nob roads, though some steep climbs involved, plus Gatlinburg Trail at Sugarlands Visitor Center just south of town, plus the near-to-Cobbly Nob Greenbrier road in the Smokies along the Little Pigeon River and recommended to us by Bearadise owner, plus many dog-friendly restaurants in the area. Second, the house itself has a terrific view of the Smokies and is tucked into the mountain so attractively. Third, the house is well-furnished, good quality linens, lots of whimsical bear touches and a couple of special raccoons carved into the mantle above the fireplace, and a large deck with table, chairs, hot tub, gas grill, and fire pit. Fourth, the fireplace itself: good draw, plus good firewood along with excellent groceries available at Food City, 10 minutes away. Fifth, the house layout is very efficient and comfortable with king bed and bath downstairs and king bed and bath plus foldout couch upstairs; would work well for two couples or two couples with up to two children. Sixth, the owner is very responsive to any questions or needs, extremely helpful and genuinely interested in making your visit the very best possible. And finally, the price is right: Bearadise is priced at the lower end of the properties available to rent at Cobbly Nob; it is NOT, however, at the lower end in terms of amenities and overall relaxation/satisfaction. As long as it is available to rent, we know that we have found our January travel destination for years to come. We love our home here in Vicksburg, but there is no question that right now all three of us are missing Bearadise.

Owner's Response: We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Bearadise. There are a lot of pet friendly places in the area and dogs are welcomed in many of the downtown shops as well. We do hope that you return next January. Thanks so much for all the kind words. Dave

Perfect cabin in the mountains

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this home. The furnishings were perfect and the view was great. It was about 10 minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Gatlinburg. We would highly recommend this vacation home to anyone!

View was beautiful!

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay. It was a little tight for six but the view was spectacular. We had a raccoon visit us one evening. Gatlinburg is just a few miles away. The house was clean and had everything necessary to cook for a family.

Owner's Response: We do have a lot of wildlife in the area and "visits" from some of them can be exciting. We're happy you enjoyed our home and the Gatlinburg area. Dave

Great Location, everything you need away from home!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was very cozy. We loved the location, far enough away from the hustle and bustle but close enough for an enjoyable drive to town. Roads were easy to navigate. Cabin was clean and supplied wonderfully. Wish we had a few more days to stay!

Great cabin- perfect location-perfect for our family

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at the cabin. Perfect size for our family of 4. Kids stayed in one room and adults had the other one. 10-15 minute into town and 30 min or so into Pigeon Forge. Tons of stuff for a family to do in town. Had a couple questions and Dave the host was so quick to repond. The road up to the cabin was a little scary at night... But not bad during the day. Close to a couple grocery stores so you can grab anything you might need.

Had an absolutely great time. We're already trying to plan a return trip!! Thank you!

Ober Gatlinburg

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is the most visited park in the national system. Look out onto MT. LeConte from the wrap-around deck or while sitting at the kitchen table with your morning beverage.

Gatlinburg - Folks come from all over the world for vacations, outdoor adventures, family fun and memory making. Gatlinburg is one of America's great mountain resort destinations, dozens of local-to-national restaurants, and attractions galore – all nestled in the foothills and surrounded on three sides by the natural beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains. Gatlinburg prides itself on its walkability amidst mountain heritage and the arts, crafts and shops that reflect that tradition. Anchored at the corner of East Parkway and Glades Road at Traffic Light #3A, you'll find the beginning of the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community. Home to over 100 shops featuring craftspeople and artists along an 8-mile loop, it's the largest gathering of independent artisans in North America. You'll discover one-of-a-kind crafts, treasures and artwork, and you can watch the artisans at work.

Golf - Just down the mountain at the entrance of the Village of Cobbly Nob. Bent Creek Golf course, designed by three-time Masters and British Open Championship Winner Gary Player, is a par 72 course that has been popular since the sunny day it opened back in 1972. The front nine hugs the valley floor while the back nine offers a challenging mountain course. A beautiful sparkling mountain stream meanders throughout the entire course making for a breathtaking contrast between water and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Southern Living Travel Guide rated Bent Creek Golf Resort one of the "Top Fifty Golf Courses in the South." This course is all at once challenging and relaxing.
