Cozy, comfy cabin!

  • 5 of 5

It was cold this week. The cabin had 3 heaters and was nice and warm. Bed, sheets, and towels were soft. Even though it's a small cabin it was layed out nicely with closet space and spots for our luggage and our dogs' crates. The area is just beautiful! We had fun visiting different spots along the river and in Kerrville. Very relaxing vacation!

Our Casita Blu Vacations from Nov 13 - Nov 20

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at Casita Blu. The location was beautiful and the place did exceed all our expectations. The owners, Brian and Deborah, really love what they are doing, they are full of attention and make sure their guests needs are fulfilled. All the cabins are extremely clean, they have been nicely renovated without losing the antique flair. All furnishing and decorative objects have been selected with a lot of taste, allowing to create a charming and romantic antique feel. The kitchens are very well equipped to prepare a home cooked meal. They even supply you with the basic cooking ingredients. The bedding was very comfortable and we did appreciate the silky sheets and pillows, and all the fresh towels. Our 2 cats and dog had a great time as well. Brian and Deborah are true animals lovers. They even offered to do pet sitting for us when we went climbing the enchanted rock and could not take our dog with us. For sure we will be back there and stay even longer. We strongly recommend this place. It's so perfect! And purrrfect!!!

The Escape We Needed

  • 5 of 5

We spent 3 nights in Casita Blu and it was just what we expected and needed. The cabin was set up well ...we had all we needed to cook simple meals at the cabin. Wifi worked well as did the cable TV setup. A gas grill was available which we used more than once.

River access is available across the street. We enjoyed simply sitting near the river and watching the daily routine of the mallard ducks. Canoes are provided by the owner and we paddled up river and back one morning. The owner, Brian, was very gracious.

Hwy 39 is a beautiful drive that crosses the south fork of the Guadalupe many times. It's not all that far to travel to Lost Maples park or the Kerr WMA that is on the north fork of the Guadalupe.

Best comment I can think to make is that we'd like to stay again sometime in the spring.

Nice, quiet little place by the river

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was simple and basic, but clean and fresh and has everything you need to prepare meals. There is a little kitchenette with stove, oven, microwave, etc. Comfortable bed. Bring your own shampoo and soap. The owner is nice and helpful, and lets you enjoy a peaceful and uninterrupted stay. There are canoes you can use to go upstream to explore, and a great little swimming spot with rapids to hang out in, just across the road.
