This cabin was built in the mid 1920's and was originally operated as Camp Sylvan. The cottage was renovated and updated in 2015 with all the modern features for a comfortable stay in a small space. The cottage sits on a two acre property along Hwy 39 with the Guadalupe River access directly across the road. Guest river access includes a private 350 feet shoreline with fire puts, picnic table and chairs. The large Cypress trees provide shade for fishing, swimming and boating. The cabin has a kitchen with stove and oven, refrigerator, queen size bed, bathroom, shower and is pet friendly. The location is about 1 hour north of San Antonio and 2 hours west of Austin.

Purchased the property in 2014 and began renovating the cottages one by one for future use and enjoyment.
Brian Olsen purchased this cabin in 2014
It has easy access along the Hwy 39 and the river access is across the road from the cottages. The river area is less developed that neighboring properties with intent of keeping the space simple and natural.
We spent 3 nights in Casita Blu and it was just what we expected and needed. The cabin was set up well ...we had all we needed to cook simple meals at the cabin. Wifi worked well as did the cable TV setup. A gas grill was available which we used more than once.
River access is available across the street. We enjoyed simply sitting near the river and watching the daily routine of the mallard ducks. Canoes are provided by the owner and we paddled up river and back one morning. The owner, Brian, was very gracious.
Hwy 39 is a beautiful drive that crosses the south fork of the Guadalupe many times. It's not all that far to travel to Lost Maples park or the Kerr WMA that is on the north fork of the Guadalupe.
Best comment I can think to make is that we'd like to stay again sometime in the spring.
The cabin was simple and basic, but clean and fresh and has everything you need to prepare meals. There is a little kitchenette with stove, oven, microwave, etc. Comfortable bed. Bring your own shampoo and soap. The owner is nice and helpful, and lets you enjoy a peaceful and uninterrupted stay. There are canoes you can use to go upstream to explore, and a great little swimming spot with rapids to hang out in, just across the road.
The cabin was perfect for us. It had everything we needed. Plenty of hot water, and a GREAT mattress. Kitchen was complete, extra blankets, towels, small heater if you need it etc. The location is good and Brian was helpful and fun to talk to. Nice porch area to sit and the area down by the river is very peaceful..
My boyfriend and I had such a great time! We enjoyed being out of the city for acouple of days. We used the canoes, built a fire, watched the stars at night and we also fished! Overall it was a great experience :)
