Perfect Away From It All

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed here for 6 nights. It was lovely and serene. Our dogs thought they had died and gone to doggy heaven!!! The place is perfect for getting away from it all. The property is huge and so is the house. We will definitely be back next year!

Interesting house on a really nice plot of land

  • 4 of 5

If you are looking to get away from everything this house is great. There is sparse cell service and a lot of land to explore. The stars at night are awesome and it's really close to a bunch of high peaks. I would recommend bringing some key cooking utensils (spatula, wood spoon, tongs, maybe a sharp kitchen knife). Otherwise, the plates and utensils provided were sufficient. The house seems to have been used for dog breeding and has a lot of dog runs, leash anchors, etc. The downside is that some, but not all, of the furniture smells like dog or cat pee. Overall it's a great place to hang out in the woods and enjoy the Adirondacks. I would consider staying again in the fall or winter when I could really enjoy the wood burning stove.

A Farm House Indeed

  • 4 of 5

I wanted to give this a five star, but I will give it four stars for a lack of information at the time. I booked this trip for my full family grandmothers my two children etc. totaling seven people. The listing stated four bed rooms not saying that one was a sofa sleeper. Due to the stairs on the one side of the house vs the other my mother had to sleep on a sofa bed. So, my issue might not be yours. There are stairs within the house and one room on the ground level. So to be fair it was a lovely stay.

The house was large and the land amazing. The location is remote, but lakes and small-town shopping are to be found. We went in late June and the weather for us was beautiful but there is only one window AC Unit in the house so.. As for WIFI it is remote and hard to get. Some of us had service some did not, but we were there to relax. I would recommend this location for three queen beds and a sofa sleeper. With that said I would rent again.

Beautiful, peaceful , relaxing property

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed our stay with our 2 Aussies on this old homestead in the woods! Trails to hike on, gardens, meadows with deer, tall timbered pines, even fenced in areas for dogs. Made for a peaceful time away from it all, in a comfy, well cared for home. As the sun sets, the cool evening breeze brought out the fireflies and sounds of crickets to lull you to sleep! We plan on another visit this fall!

Rustic Estate

  • 4 of 5

A huge estate house with lots of history. There are many places for many people to stay. It is in a great location near the NY Throughway, but still very much out in the woods. I really liked the kitchen. Some of the decor is dated, but for the price this is a great place. One warning, the owner had lots of pets so there are some pet smells which we were not expecting.

Wonderful night sleep

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I were traveling and stopped looking for directions and looking for a motel to stay in when the young couple told us about this beautiful house. We spent the night in this spacious, secluded beautiful house. We did have a chance to hike around and venture up to the marsh where we sat for an hour or so listening to nature in the gazebo that is in the middle of nowhere. We are planning a trip in the winter and it isn't that far to whiteface we are hoping the house is available when we figure out the date. What a wonderful night sleep not hearing traffic or other noise except the frogs chirping. Thank you again for recommending this awse house.
