A House Called Alice is situated in the idyllic village of Mandria situated within easy reach of secluded Cyprus beaches and 10 minutes away from Paphos airport. The property is also 5 minutes away from two of the international golf courses in Cyprus and 15 minutes from the historic harbour town of Paphos. If you are not a golf fan or are a golf widow then you will enjoy the superb shops in Paphos and the many water and other sports.

The house is a newly built two bedroomed town house which sleeps 6 and has been furnished to a very high standard throughout. The ground floor consists of a large open plan living room and dining area with kitchen and cloakroom. The large patio doors leading out into the garden and the marble stairs leading up to first floor.

You can relax in the living area which has two comfortable settees, one of which being a bed settee. There is a satellite TV, DVD and CD radio system. The little children (or grown up children) can enjoy the play station or settle down to read or play board games. The ground floor also has air conditioning. At the back of the property is a hard standing for your hire car with a door leading into the property. The complex boasts an attractive swimming pool and the local beach is a short stroll away.

Mandria village has all the usual amenities, three traditional tavernas, fish and chip restaurant, cafe, a well equipped general store, post offiice and bank

It also has a bus service, but getting around Cyprus is so easy a hire car is highly recommended.

Well worth a visit.

We booked a week's stay at Shirley and Barry's property in Mandria during March and were highly pleased that we did.

The booking process was smooth and efficient, all information regarding the property, how to get there etc was detailed and accurate. I had a question of my own that I emailed to the owner prior to the visit, this was answered promptly and effectively.

The house was delightful. All fixtures and fittings were of high quality, everywhere was spotlessly clean, we were most comfortable. There were only the two of us, but the property was certainly large enough for a family group.

As the weather was sunny and warm we were able to spend time in the garden area relaxing and eating our meals.

The various walks around the local coastline kept us busy for much of the time but we did travel further afield for sightseeing. The local bars and restaurants were well worth a visit at the end of the day.

We would both be happy to return to Mandria and this property in the future.

Well appointed in general everything you need is catered for.

Charming property set in a village location with a distant sea view.

Only negative points were the lack of aircon in the second bedroom, and a few maintenance issues some we reported and were quickly fixed others were left to be fixed ready for the next letting. Private parking is at the rear of the property. There is a small front garden with table and chairs. The well maintained pool is yards away and only 1.5 m deep with a shallow area and paddling pool. The pool has showers and WC , you will have to take sunbed with you though , there is one bed and two relaxes provided by the owners.

Excellent food at all the local restaurants which is a 10 min walk away. The local beach is in walkable distance and has an excellent beach bar and food van both good and reasonable prices there is a lifeguard on duty , sunbeds and parasol are free for bar users.

Having stayed in villas and apartments in cyprus we knew what to expect.....but we were so wrong

This house was without any doubt the nicest most well equiped holiday home we could have had, a short walk to the village and 15 mins to the beach......just perfect

A little gem

Arrived home on Monday sadly, tried to rebook the house for September but it's fully booked. This was our second stay in the house it's perfect in everyday, close to beach close to Town the Airport just a few kilometres away and around 20 mins to Paphos so for us absolutely perfect. The house is well equipped has everything you need washing machine, dishwasher everything works perfectly so all in all its home from home. Shirley and Barry (owners) reply promptly to emails and any

questions you may have. Well worth a visit.

Loveley house & great value for money

When we arrived at A House Called Alice we found the accommodation to be spotlessly clean, there is everything in the house to have a lovely home from home holiday, beds are really comfy, quality furnishings and a nice hot shower. The whole set up of the house is very usable and spacious. The area is unspoilt, not far from the beach and suited us just fine. There is also a great supermarket not far away, after leaving the village of Mandria if you turn left onto the B6 it's just a short way down the road, great bakery, fresh butchers (can recommend the steak) and they also have a good selection of wine. Mandria is an unspoilt Cypriot village, it has a local shop, post office, fish & chip shop, bars & restaurants. I would recommend hiring a car as there are lots of places to visit, the Troodos Mountains are spectacular as well as the village of Omodos which is old Cyprus at it's best, a must is to visit the monastery & the Dempsi Glass shop, where beautiful hand blown pieces can be seen, the owner is very friendly & happy to chat whilst you peruse his work with no pressure to purchase. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at a House Called Alice, Barry & Shirley are very approachable & respond very quickly, I would definitely recommend this accommodation.

Paphos is just a short drive away with it's historic harbour with medieval fort, good shops, bars, restaurants and exceptional night life. Paphos also has an amazing open market where you can while away a few hours.

If you are in to archaeology visit the Tombs of the Kings, with it's impressive under ground tombs. Also near the harbour is a mosaic site which contain floors from roman times. Other activities in Paphos are go karting, horse riding, diving, bowling, boat trips and many more.

There are two excellent golf courses within 10 minutes of the property being Secret Valley and Aphrodite Hills, both are open to the public but if you do not play golf they are well worth a visit for a drink or meal as the scenery is absolutely stunning and the food is excellent.

There are so many interesting places to visit. Take a leisurely drive to Troodos where you will pass many small villages, vinyards and a hoast of farming communities.
