About the property

3 bedroom, 3 bath, heated private pool & dock, waterfront, near downtown & beach

Enjoy your stay in this amazing, completely renovated home. Updated with classic elegant Florida style. This home is sunny, bright, an open floor plan, with an all new gourmet kitchen, beautiful terrazzo floors, bead board ceilings, tasteful furnishings and luxurious amenities. You won't believe the resort style heated pool surrounded by a large travertine patio, professionally designed landscaping and new dock. Located in a very quiet, peaceful neighborhood - this house is perfect for families and couples to get away from it all and relax. It's just a quick drive to downtown St Pete or the beautiful gulf beaches.

Whether your ideal vacation is hours relaxing by the pool with a book or splashing around with the kids, fishing off your private dock, kayaking Tampa Bay from just outside your back door, or taking in all the cultural events in downtown St Pete - you'll find it here!

The house is designed and furnished to be spacious and comfortable. The master bedroom includes a king size bed, attached bath with walk in shower, and a sitting room overlooking the backyard pool and canal. The first guest room contains two twin beds (which can be pushed together for a king). The sailing themed guest room has a queen size bed and queen size trundle bed, allowing up to 4 guests. The two guest rooms share a hall bath with tub/shower combination and double sinks. Off the large living room, you'll find a sunroom, perfect for games, puzzles or just taking in the view. The ample seating includes a twin daybed with twin trundle.

The outdoor living space truly sets the property apart. There's a covered patio with ceiling fan, a pool bath area off the patio with shower, toilet and sink (perfect way for a quick clean up without going through the house). Under the large shade awning, you can sit, relax, and enjoy the pool and water views, delight in watching the mullets leap from the water or watch the great herons care for their nest of new baby birds in the tree nearby. We've seen many manatees and dolphins right off the dock, which is the perfect spot to try some fishing. You'll find an outdoor kitchen with grill and sink along with comfortable seating for dining or lounging. In the winter, sit by one of the two outdoor fire pits and watch the stars.

The house and furnishings are remarkably comfortable and we've gone to great lengths to add amenities to help make your stay memorable. There are games, puzzles, movies, pool toys, a poolside basketball hoop, pool loungers, sit atop and sit in kayaks (total of 6 available for rent), coolers, beach chairs, etc. The kitchen has a number of spices and staples that will help avoid those last minute trips to the grocery store.

We keep our 34 foot sailboat at the dock for our personal use. Vacation guests are not allowed to board the sailboat and should be aware that there's a small chance that the owners will access the yard to use the boat or use the poolside bathroom (we live out of town so this is not a common occurrence). Our priority is for you to feel at home and delighted with your stay - so we'll do all we can to preserve your privacy at all times.

About Owner

An Eckerd College grad, I've missed the beautiful waterfront area of St Petersburg and bought this home in anticipation of retiring in the area. My family and I love the home, the area and all the wonderful waterfront activities nearby. I'm a professional home renovator and designer and love to include unique high end features in the homes I renovate. This home is my vision of a tropical waterfront paradise.

Owner purchased this house in 2015

Why Owner chose St Petersburg

We love the canal, the access to Tampa Bay (yet still protected from storm surges on open water), the lovely pool, tropical landscaping and classic Florida style. Close to everything St Pete has to offer - yet secluded on a quiet residential island. A perfect getaway to connect with friends and family.

What makes this house unique

The breezes are delightful and the area is much like a bird sanctuary with great herons, egrets, cormorants, pelicans, wild parrots and more. Mullets leap out of the water and make splash landings all day long and often manatee and dolphin swim right up to the dock. Rays can be seen in the water along with many species of fish.

Excellent House to Explore St. Pete's and Beyond...

  • 5 of 5

Right from the start, I had excellent communication with Amy, the owner. Even upon arrival to the home, Amy was there via text/phone to answer any questions we had. We had a slight difficulty opening the home - but Amy solved it right away. The home is located in a quiet residential neighbourhood about 10 minutes from downtown St. Pete's - and was truly a home away from home. The house was as pictured in all the photos. It was spotless upon arrival and there were instructions provided on how to use the stove, TV, washer/dryer and garbage/recycling schedule. It has great amenities too - fabulous kitchen (in which we cooked several times), great dining area, wonderful and peaceful backyard and cozy bedrooms. Amy also provided us with some good local shopping and dining spots in St. Pete's. This rental was a great home base to see Spring Training games in Dunedin, visit the Clearwater Aquarium and Pier 60 on Clearwater Beach, and the Dali Museum. A car is a must if staying here. There is a 7-Eleven in the neighbourhood, but we did our grocery shopping elsewhere before returning for the evening. The owner's boat is docked behind the home and they notified us well in advance that they would be on the boat our last night in the rental home. Thanks for a great stay!!

Wonderful Stay!

  • 5 of 5

Loved the kayaks, waterfront and fabulous pool. Owner had just added a heater to the pool and it was wonderful. We saw manatees, caught a fish off the seawall, kayaked in the Bay, went to the Saturday market downtown, saw the most beautiful sunset on the Gulf (just a few miles away) - and felt like we still had more to see when we had to leave. We'll definitely be back again soon.

Our family was very pleased with our stay at this wonderful home. On our last day we saw dolphins playing right beside the dock. Our children fished every morning and the pool was very refreshing! Our family would definitely come back for another stay. Thank you Ann and Peter for a wonderful time.

We really enjoyed our stay at this home. It is located in a nice, quiet neighborhood that is close to downtown St. Petersburg. My husband LOVED the backyard because it was right on the water. He was able to fish every morning and every evening! The pool was a delight for the entire family! The house in newly remodeled and looks lovely! You can tell that Amy and Peter put a lot of thought and love into making this a comfortable home. The kitchen is open and airy and wonderful to cook in, there is plenty of sleeping space and three nice bathrooms(one of which is located out back, close to the pool.) Amy was very prompt at responding to any questions we had and very pleasant to deal with. We would definitely stay here again!
