About the property

4 Bedroom, 2 1/2 Bath. Custom Hardwood Floors

Come visit our western retreat! We are very excited to be adding this house to our list of rentals on Arrowhead Trail. This house has a long history in my family, my grandparents purchased it nearly 40 years ago and raised 5 children here. After my grandfather passed I was blessed with the opportunity to purchase it. I spent 6 years living and remolding this house before moving to the end of the street into another fix-er up-er.

As you can see in the pictures the entire upstairs has custom hardwood flooring. Each room has a different species of flooring along with a different hardwood trim. Over half of the furniture in the house was been hand made by myself or friends of the family.

The kitchen is fully furnished with all the basic cooking utensils you will need. All of the appliances are full size. The kitchen table is set for 4 but we have had as many as 8 people gather around it for family dinner.

The living room is fitted with a huge leather couch, 2 recliners, and one hand made horseshoe rocking chair. There are gas logs for your enjoyment in the winter time. Atop the walnut mantel is a 50''Samsung LED tv, dish network is our service provider.

There are 3 Bedrooms upstairs, all of them are full of unique western style furnishings. The master bedroom has a half bath attached to it. As you walk down the hall you will pass the main bathroom with a shower and bathtub.

There is another full size bedroom and bathroom in the basement. The laundry room is just around the corner. As you are walking towards the laundry room you will pass by the weight bench and workout machine.

The game room is also located in the basement and has a pool table, dart board, and a 50'' plasma tv for your enjoyment.

Outside you will see that the lake is only about 50 steps away. There are even concrete steps all the way into the water. The shoreline is perfect for swimming or just hanging out. The lake bottom is a rock/mud combination. The boat traffic is a safe distance away laving you several hundred yards of calm area to swim in.

We are located on the main channel and not allowed a dock permit. I live at the end of the street and have a covered dock on the bay-side that you are welcome to use. My covered dock is about 500' away, you can walk or drive down and park in my driveway.


No more than 2 pets are allowed. There is a $50 fee for each pet. NO MORE THAN 25LBS EACH.

 There is room for 2-3 cars in the driveway. There is plenty of room for over flow parking, just let me know and I’ll show you where it is.

 Free wifi is provided

 ALL your linens are provided. I always recommend bringing your pillow for your comfort.

 The kitchen has basic pots and pans and utensils for your general cooking needs.

 There is a full size fridge and freezer in the kitchen.

 The neighborhood is located on a dead end street and is usually very quiet.

 Our neighbors’ kids play in the street so please drive with caution.

 The grill is propane and the propane is provided. Bring a lighter as ours tend to walk off.

 The outdoor grill is not cleaned by the cleaning staff, please clean up after yourself. Also, please excuse the last guest for not listening to the first part of this statement.

 The steps on the deck will lead you all the way to the shoreline.

 The water is gently sloping and you can swim from the shore.

 The bottom of the lake is rocky and semi-muddy. I recommend wearing lake shoes.

 Yes, you can fish from the shoreline. KY fish and game laws apply.

 You can use my covered dock at the end of the street.

Everyone is welcome to come to the end of the street and use my lot on the point. I do ask that you respect our privacy.

• I have 3 yellow Labradors (dogs) that stay on my lot. NONE of the 3 are allowed to leave the property. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not take them on the boat with you without letting me know. If you tell them NO and mean it they will listen to you.

• We have2 pontoon boats and 2 jet skis available for rent. The all are shared between all of our rental houses and I do recommend you reserve in advance. They rent for $200.00 daily and include the first tank of gas. I always ask that you pay for the boats in cash once you arrive. The boats are always docked at our COVERED dock. Once I have given you safety instructions you are allowed to use the boat from sunrise to sunset. NO night use. If you are out after dark I will assume you are missing and emergence personnel will be notified.

• No penalty for boat rain outs. If you reserve we do ask that you plan on using the boat or it will be deducted from your deposit. No half day rentals.

 I always recommend you bring your food with you. Our grocery stores are no comparison to the stores most are used to in the city. I am (almost) always available by phone or email. Our cell service isn’t always the best so please leave a voicemail if I do not answer.

We also have 2 kayaks available.

My family and I stayed for a long weekend in February and we had a awesome time .

We just stayed an extended weekend in February and we loved it the house was very nice and clean beds were comfortable The View was beautiful and the management was easy to work with and we are going back in June and I would recommend this home two any of my family and friends they went out of their way to make us feel comfortable all I can say it is very relaxing and enjoyable

Very nice western theme lakehouse- awesome sunset views!

Great location for Eagle Weekend at the state parks. We loved the huge leather couch, recliners and tv! Plenty of bedrooms, two with private bathrooms. The deck and views of the lake and sunset were enjoyed even in January!! I also like the wood floors bc carpet never seems clean to me in rentals.

The perfect getaway

Speaking from a consumers viewpoint this property was completely perfect. I have been vacationing in this area for over twenty years and of all of the places that we have stayed this is by far and away the best. The owner was completely friendly helpful and hospitable in every way. He has several properties in the are and we cant wait to try them all. I highly recommend any of theses for your next vacation. Thank you Mr. Hale for the use of your wonderful lakeside home.

Nice size, under renovation and bit dirty, but sufficient for our needs.

Owner's Response: I will interpret this as "constructive criticism". On the day of departure I received a voicemail from this guest that they were departing and had a great time. No mention of anything negative. Once I received this review I quickly contacted the guest and asked what exactly was wrong. BELOW IS OUR CONVERSATION: MICKEY: "So sorry, certainly didn't mean to imply the home didn't meet our needs. There were things like bottle caps, pieces of paper lying around on floor, a few dishes were either dirty or broken (chipped), outside deck was dirty (but too chilly to use), "renovation" comment was aimed at lower back porch and hot tub room (otherwise we could tell you'd done a lot of work), overall it was am average rating. The home met our needs but didn't WOW us. The steep lake access was mentioned because if we'd had small children or elderly, someone else want to know. We loved all the horseshoe decor. Did you get my message about losing my diamond from my wedding ring?" MYSELF: "Yes we got the msg about the ring, they vacuumed the whole house twice and sifted the dirt from the vacuum each time. No luck. The hot tub room is only closed off because of insurance. I have never fixed up that room because the ceiling in that room leaks when it rains and just isn't user friendly. The only way to fix it is to remove the entire deck and put on a new roof and then rebuild the deck. There is a 10 person pass to Lake Barkley state park and they have a indoor hot tub there. I blew the back deck over with a leaf blower just before you arrived. This time of the year it is very hard to keep the leaves and limbs off of it. I apologize for any trash that might have been over looked. I can not speak for the dishware... Without going to plastic there is no way for me to keep people from chipping and breaking them. It wouldnt be feasible to replace each dish as it gets chipped. The "average" rating is very hard on us with the new way we are judged by HomeAway. If we don't get a 4 or 5 star review it bumps us down on their advertising and it also discourages other guests from staying with us. We appreciate your stay with us and hopefully we can better serve you in the future. I will continue to look for your ring. " THE HOT TUB ADVERTISED IS LOCATED AT THE STATE PARK NOT IN THE BASEMENT. AS ALWAYS IF YOU ARRIVE AND HAVE ANY NEEDS PLEASE CONTACT ME ASAP. I CAN NOT MAKE EVERYTHING PREFECT IF I DO NOT KNOW EVERYONES SPECIFIC NEEDS.

The house was perfect. We had 3 couples on motorcycles. The rooms were decorated beautifully and the kitchen was well appointed. The garage was great. We could get up and ride earlier since the bikes were kept dry! The house is located in a great neighborhood and the view of the lake was spectacular! This was our first trip to LBL and won't be our last. Thanks Lucas!!
