The neighbors are very friendly and actively involved in improving the neighborhood. The house does not face a road and the intimate setting gives the feel of stepping back in time to the early 1900s. The larger neighborhood, Old Louisville, is filled with many gorgeous victorian mansions and is itself one of the must-see attractions of a visit to Louisville. We are a short walk away from St. James Court and a long walk/short ride to Churchill Downs.

There is space for one compact car in the garage off a narrow alley behind the house. Street parking is readily available throughout the neighborhood for any additional vehicles. There is a bus stop at the end of the terrace. We are an easy bike ride from downtown and the Highlands. Cab/Uber service is also readily available by phone.

About Michael Meador

We're Mike and Kate. We love meeting new people and experiencing new locations. Kate is a history nerd and has been working in the museum field for over ten years. Mike loves math and enjoys cerebral discussions. We are both avid travelers and enjoy visiting famous sites as well as local secrets. Together we enjoy geocaching, biking, wine, cooking, and hiking. We have been married since June 2013.

We are recent transplants to Louisville from New England. We have already fallen in love with the area and are excited to share our wonderful neighborhood with others.

Why Michael Meador chose Old Louisville

We love Louisville! This city has an incredible food scene, great parks, quality museums, and amazing festivals. Our immediate neighborhood is full of progressive people living in beautiful historic homes. Nearby Central Park offers tennis courts, Shakespeare, and a great place to take an evening stroll. We love living in the middle of the city with a short drive to all the best places.

The house itself faces a beautiful walking court and boasts one of the largest kitchens in the neighborhood. We have a nice blend of original historic features and modern upgrades. The backyard is a delightful oasis that makes good use of the small space.

What makes this house unique

Floral terrace is a gorgeous pedestrian only 'street' in the heart of historic Old Louisville. The immediate area boasts an unrivaled selection of Victorian mansions alongside a few quality restaurants. Located just steps from Central Park, the house is within easy reach of downtown Louisville, Churchill Downs, Bardstown Rd, and Frankfort Ave.
