Easily access Louisiana State University's Student Union in a short ~6 mile drive via the oak-lined historic Highland Road, or visit the Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center only ~3 miles away. The neighborhood offers more than 0.5 miles of sidewalk for leisurely walks or jogging. The Baton Rouge Airport ~16 miles away is readily accessible via nearby Interstate 10, 12, and 110 Highways.
Two of our three bedrooms have queen-size beds, with ample space in the third bedroom for any portable beds brought by guests. The master bedroom offers an expansive view of the courtyard, while its attached bathroom with whirlpool tub, shower cubicle, double vanities, and walk-in closet offer views of the nature-filled backyard (including wild strawberry, raspberry, and banana plants!) and the wooded area adjoining the Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center. A smooth-top double-oven electric range; 4-door chill room, freezer, and fridge combination; garbage disposer; and dishwasher complete the kitchen. Touch-operated dead-bolt front door ensures easy, yet secure, access for guests. The tech-inclined will also appreciate the Delta Touch2O faucet in the guest bathroom, humidity monitoring automatic bathroom fans, and automated thermostat. The spacious kitchen island offers ample room to socialize while cooking. The gas-powered fireplace offers a romantic setting during cooler winter and spring days. The electric washer and drier are in a spacious laundry room. Up to two cars can park off-street in the driveway.
Ours is one of the few ecologically conscious homes with ~80% of energy provided by solar power in this safe, child-friendly neighborhood. The connected solar energy storage system also works as a pollution-free silent generator for the master bedroom and key kitchen appliances even during power outages. You can further reduce the ecological impact of your business or vacation stay with our bidet-equipped toilet, recycled paper towels, recycled toilet paper, and pesticide-herbicide free courtyard garden. Nature lovers will enjoy the sight of crickets, bees, butterflies and the occasional humming bird visiting the varied native and exotic plants in our automatically irrigated front yard and courtyard, populated by potted LSU-fig cultivar, grape vines, magnolia, blueberry, persimmon, pomegranate, and other plants. The walkway to the backyard is even lined with herbal edible plants, complete with a backyard composting area.
Our home is best suited for business travelers, couples, families with infants, and families with teenage children. Placing cleaned recyclables in the recycling bin will earn guests a 2% discount. Given the quiet residential neighborhood, our home is unavailable for celebrations or parties. Pets may be accommodated only on an individual basis.
