About Lynn Hirst
Hi I'm Deanna, We have lived on and loved Isla de la Piedera (Spanish) for fifteen years. It is a small Mexican village with all the charm of Old Mexico. It is a JOY to wake up every day to SUNSHINE and blue ocean views. We enjoy sharing our island paradise with others. I'm sure you will be enchanted with Stone Island (English).
Lynn Hirst purchased this Villa in 2002

I will never stay there again
First, when I got there, there wasn't anybody to give us the key!, then I had to call the owner and she told me to go to a restaurant to ask if the keeper had left the key there, of course they didn't know anything about a key, we finally pushed the door and it was open, we found the key inside.
As we enter I see a big cockroach going from the bathroom to the closet!.
The beds are so old I felt the springs when we lay down and they would sink almost like a hammock, when we lay on them.
The bathroom with no shampoo, and the hand soap was almost empty, I had to put water in it to make it last the 4 days, there was no shampoo, the bathroom sink leaked from the drain and when we would take showers, the water would run into the room, I'm 5'6" and weigh 164# and could hardly fit in the shower!
The kitchen was not so clean and there was some more cockroaches running around, the coffee maker had the wrong filters, and the sink leaked around the faucet.
The utensils were so bad and look so dirty we never use them.
The outside was dirty and nobody ever came to ask how we were doing or we needed anything or to clean, not even the front patio, forget about the inside! and there was a water hose right on the steps going to the room, I think some old people could trip and hurt themselves.
And I was charged very hefty cleaning fee besides another almost the same for "I don't know" fee????
In short, the room was not wort the price the only good thing this place has is a good A/C!
Almost forgot to drive from the malecon to the house is about an hour, unless you want to take one of the small boats that take you across the little bay in the port of Mazatlan!,
there was no option to give 0 stars, otherwise I would have put it there!
Terrible experience, I try to contact the owner and she didn't return my calls anymore.
I am so sorry you had such a bad experience. Of all other people have had great experiences . The hostess had a serious emergency and could wait no longer for your late arrival. The hostess is a perfectionist , so I know that your unit was very clean. we have memory foam comfortable beds, without any springs, kitchen have new fridge and microwaves. Thank you very much for your review
Simply Wonderful
Phenomenal location, ocean waves almost therapeutic.
Lynn & her daughter went above and beyond to make our stay memorable.
Everything you need is in the house with authentic Mexican charm.
Choice of studio & 1 bedroom accommodations .
Highly recommended
A restful place in the Sun
After having traveled Mexico for three decades it is heartening to find a place that is not the average tourist trap. Beautiful views and expansive sand beaches await. Old town Mazatlan is just across the inland bay and easy to get to by inexpensive little ferry boats that run every ten minutes or so day and night. I highly recommend The Oceanfront Villa to travelers desiring a slice of old Mexico with modern amenities.
Isle Of Stone House
What an amazing adventure and fabulous view from this charming off the beaten path hide away. With the ocean surf so close it feels like your own piece of waterfront. Beach restaurants a stones throw away and miles of sand to walk along the ocean. We loved the quaint little ferries within walking distance that provide inexpensive and quick service over to main city of Mazatlan. On the Isle Of Stone you experience the culture and ways of the locals. I would recommend this place to a friend and return to stay again
Thanks for the nice review! We are so pleased that you enjoyed Isla de la Piedera. It was a joy to have you and your husband as guests and we hope to see you again.
BEACH - SUNSHINE - BEACH - SUNSHINE - BEACH - SUNSHINE
Clean accommodations on the BEACH with lots of SUNSHINE. VERY REASONABLE rates. Hostess was helpful and non-intrusive. We highly recommend!
Thanks for the nice review. We enjoyed having you as a guest and we hope that life allows our paths to meet in the future.
