The beautiful Santa Fe River and its many pristine springs are at your doorstep from this tiny, well equipped cabin in the woods. Relax in a peaceful, private, low tech environment surrounded by Mother Nature. The town of High Springs with antiques, gift shops, and restaurants is 6 miles away; Gainesville (and the UF Gators) is 30 miles away. Beautiful parks and spring fed rivers and hiking / biking trails are close by. Cave divers and snorkeling at world renowned Ginnie Springs is 1 mile upriver. Canoe/kayak/float/swim/relax in the river and springs 100 feet from the cabin door.
The cabin is fully equipped with AC/heat, fridge, microwave and hotplate, all utensils and linens provided. The bathroom has toilet and shower. We have a comfy full size bed, DVD player, dvd's, games and books. Outside you will find a screened porch to watch the wildlife and birds. We have a bar-b-que and a fire pit. The hammock swings between two shady trees.
The gate from the cabin leads to a small, pristine spring right on the Santa Fe River.
We are both retired and love where we live and love to share it with others. The cabin is private, in a clearing in the woods. Our house is on the other end of the property.
We are from St. Louis, but have lived in Florida for over 40 years.
The property is nice and very private. The location is excellent and we had a very nice time relaxing and canoeing the Santa Fe River. The cabin is very cozy but tiny. Hospitality was great :)
Maryanne and Dave were great hosts. Everything is exactly like the pictures. The rustic one bedroom cabin was clean and very well stocked. The kitchen is equipt with a coffee maker, portable cooktop, utensils, frypan, refrigerator, microwave, cleaners, etc... I forgot my toothbrush and found one in the bathroom (and replaced it with a new one the very next day). I found bandages too. Tall shade trees surround a fire pit, hammock, picnic table and grill. The town of High Springs is just 7 minutes down the road. You can rent kayaks from Doug at Rum 138. You can take a short walk to the nearby Rum Island County Park for a refreshing swim in the spring. There are several other springs nearby as well. We had a great time,

It is a small space but it sits on a large piece of property. Love the hammock and they prepare the fire pit with wood so it is super easy to start. The small spring leading to the Santa Fe river is a great place to launch your kayak and visit the many springs along the Sante Fe. Rum 138 was closed on the day that we wanted to rent the kayaks but the owner Doug offered to drop off 2 kayaks for my wife and I right in the backyard. Made it so convenient. He offered to pick us up after we were done but we were able to paddle to Blue springs and paddle back to the cabin. Really a fabulous place especially if you want to explore the Sante Fe river.
This cute rustic one room cabin is in a great location to get to all of the springs off of the Santa Fe river near High Springs and Ft. White, Fl. There is a small kitchen sink, small refrigerator, microwave and a hot plate to cook with. The cabin is well supplied and there is an air conditioner for those hot muggy days. The front porch offers more space and looks out on the woods going to the river. There is no river view from the cabin but it's is a short easy walk for those who are not disabled. (My friend was recovering from a broken femur and though walking with a cane it was challenging to get up the 4 wooden steps to the cabin.) The fire pit was set up and there is a lovely hammock, picnic table and grill. The cabin is about 1/4 mile from the owner's home and is very private. The owners are very accommodating. I hope to return so that I can play on the Santa Fe!
Maryann and Dave were wonderful, they couldn't be nicer and very welcoming. The cabin is secluded, I even saw 3 deer while walking on the property. The cabin had all the basics, we just had to bring our food. The cabin was clean with a very comfortable bed. It was so cool to have your own little private cool freshwater spring! We found the spot perfect and enjoyed kayaking the Santa Fe River. We will be back!
This is a great place to get away. A perfect location to enjoy the springs and the river. Quiet, peaceful, no wifi, just unplug and float down the river. We will definitely be returning.
