The beautiful Santa Fe River and its many pristine springs are at your doorstep from this tiny, well equipped cabin in the woods. Relax in a peaceful, private, low tech environment surrounded by Mother Nature. The town of High Springs with antiques, gift shops, and restaurants is 6 miles away; Gainesville (and the UF Gators) is 30 miles away. Beautiful parks and spring fed rivers and hiking / biking trails are close by. Cave divers and snorkeling at world renowned Ginnie Springs is 1 mile upriver. Canoe/kayak/float/swim/relax in the river and springs 100 feet from the cabin door.
The cabin is fully equipped with AC/heat, fridge, microwave and hotplate, all utensils and linens provided. The bathroom has toilet and shower. We have a comfy full size bed, DVD player, dvd's, games and books. Outside you will find a screened porch to watch the wildlife and birds. We have a bar-b-que and a fire pit. The hammock swings between two shady trees.
The gate from the cabin leads to a small, pristine spring right on the Santa Fe River.
We are both retired and love where we live and love to share it with others. The cabin is private, in a clearing in the woods. Our house is on the other end of the property.
We are from St. Louis, but have lived in Florida for over 40 years.
Beautiful setting. Very quiet and secluded. 1 minute walk to river and small spring. Cabin is small but perfect for 2 people. Had everything we needed. Plenty of space outdoors.
My first time using VRBO and was so fortunate to have booked here. The cabin has everything you need and more, silly things we forgot were already there for use. Very comfortable. Maryanne and Dave were sweet and welcoming. So much to do in the surrounding area!
It's tiny house living with the comforts of home on the Sante Fe River. This cabin is adorable, it boasts a small refrigerator, BBQ, Hot plate, fire pit (that was well stocked by MaryAnne and Dave) and all the amenities you could need in the woods! With just a short walk through the back yard you arrive at a beautiful spring on the Sante Fe river where you can sit and watch the boaters, kayakers and birds and just hang out and relax. We spent one day on the Santa Fe River kayaking and the other day enjoying driving to the many springs in the area. Our 8 year old mini poodle loved it here, plenty of wild life smells to keep him busy! MaryAnne and Dave are great hosts and have a lot of information about the local attractions. We will be back!
The owner/hosts were very friendly and helpful. I was able to launch my kayak on the Santa Fe river at the Rum Island park landing just a short walk along a forest path.
The property is nice and very private. The location is excellent and we had a very nice time relaxing and canoeing the Santa Fe River. The cabin is very cozy but tiny. Hospitality was great :)
Maryanne and Dave were great hosts. Everything is exactly like the pictures. The rustic one bedroom cabin was clean and very well stocked. The kitchen is equipt with a coffee maker, portable cooktop, utensils, frypan, refrigerator, microwave, cleaners, etc... I forgot my toothbrush and found one in the bathroom (and replaced it with a new one the very next day). I found bandages too. Tall shade trees surround a fire pit, hammock, picnic table and grill. The town of High Springs is just 7 minutes down the road. You can rent kayaks from Doug at Rum 138. You can take a short walk to the nearby Rum Island County Park for a refreshing swim in the spring. There are several other springs nearby as well. We had a great time,
Marion, David and Winkles
