This 3 bedroom (1 double, 1 twin and 1 with bunk beds) double glazed, semi-bungalow has a large lounge, a good sized kitchen with dining area, a bathroom and an en-suite shower room. The rear garden of the house has a truly spectacular 180 degree view of the Sound of Mull and of the island of Mull. The house is well appointed with a 'green' air source heat pump central heating system plus some additional electric radiators and a coal/log fire in the lounge. The modern kitchen has a ceramic hob and oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, and a dishwasher. There is also a washing machine. There is a very efficient tumble dryer in the laundry next to the shop. The lounge has a 32 inch TV (with Sky channels), DVD player and an excellent CD system with an Ipod docking station. The main bathroom has an electric shower over the bath and there is an en-suite shower room accessed from the twin bedroom. Towels, linen and a hair-dryer are provided as is unlimited WiFi.

Christmas and New Year bookings: We still have availability for Christmas and New Year. There is a decorated Christmas tree supplied and the local church has a beautiful Christmas Eve service.

Garden: The front garden is well stocked and provides colour all year round. There is a large south facing back garden with outdoor seating and tables. The garden is enclosed but there are wonderful views of the Sound of Mull. Depending on the time of year there are sunrises and sunsets over the mountains and water.

We have a small herb garden - at present there is parsley, sage, thyme, oregano, chives and basil which you are welcome to use.

Conservatory: During autumn 2007 a conservatory was constructed at the rear of the property which maximises the wonderful view of the Sound of Mull all year round.

Perfect holiday home in a stunning area. Very good facilities and clean. Everything you needed supplied. It was of the highest standard. A great area for walkers and divers or just for a relaxing break away. We hopefully would go back. Thanks to the owners.

Perfect holiday cottage

My husband and I were able to spend the weekend at this wonderful property. It has everything you need. There are even movies and games for children. We spent our time exploring the Ise of Mull and Iona. Our mornings were spent enjoying the view from the conservatory with tea and our evenings were spent enjoying the view with a glass of wine. This property will not disappoint. We plan to return with our friends from the U.S. it was truly a wonderful place to relax at the end of a three week holiday.

Wonderful holiday

Wonderful house, stunning views. Ideal location for exploring the Morven peninsula and Isle of Mull. Glorious south facing scenery across the sound of Mull from the warm and cosy conservatory. House perfectly clean and tidy, rooms exactly as described and 2 teenagers happy having WiFi, so Adults able to do their own thing without tenagers being bored!

Recently enjoyed a short stay at Isbells lovely home. It has everything we wanted and I can agree with all the complimentary remarks.The location is superb and the view from the conservatory over to the Isle of Mull will occupy you for hours on end.

My wife is disabled and the owner and keyholder went out of their way to meet all her needs.Our meal down the road at The Whitehouse was delicious.Frequent ferries on the doorstep provide easy access for a day trip over to Mull.

If you like an isolated place and a holiday home with all mod cons this is for you

The Perfect Place To Stay

Lochaline is an amazing place to stay and unwind but is also fantastic for walkers and divers.

This property was really comfortable and the views from the rear are stunning. You can chill out in the conservatory with a wee dram and watch the world go by - as well as the occasional dolphin! I would highly recommend staying at this property and will be going back again as soon as possible.

The pictures of, and from the property are very accurate and the owners have thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible.

The only thing I would do differently is to visit the supermarket in Fort William to stock up on provisions BEFORE arriving at the property as it is quite a journey. There is however a small shop in the village which has a good variety of goods and The Whitehouse Restaurant is amazing albeit a little expensive (but worth it!).

Comfortable and cosy house with a stunning view

We had 10 wonderful days in this great bungalow with the stunning view over the Sound of Mull. Our expectations were exceeded. The owners have described everything very well. And after all the booking was really very easy. We got all information we needed for the house from Isbell. And the communication was also very good. Big thanks to the owners. We had very good dinner in The Whitehouse (not cheap, but really very good). A little cheaper is the food in the Lochaline Hotel. Try the dessert "Branachan", lovely. Before we came to Lochaline we bought some food in a supermarket in Fort William. A good recommendation from a reviewer. So we cooked every now and then in the nice spacious kitchen. Things like milk and others you will also get from the small store in Lochaline. We used the binoculars. We enjoyed the television, DVD, radio and the great conservatory where we spent nice hours with reading and relaxing. We went to Mull, made a boat trip from Tobermory (unfortunately saw no dolphins, but it was nevertheless worth it). Walking to Ardtornish House and to the Old Ardtornish Castle was nice. On our last day we had breakfast in Strontium, Cafe Sunart, before we left to Edinburgh Airport. We would love to come back again.

Paradise

Have been to many wonderful places in Scotland, always in lovely properties, but this one.....oh my. Just returned from a painfully short trip to this amazing house. Absoluterly stunning location - the pictures, while great, simply cannot capture the space and comfort of the house, nor the experience of the views from the warm (and large) conservatory. Each morning was like watching paintings unfold. Could hardly drag ourselves away to see more of the peninsula. Especially as we were blessed with unforecast sun on our second day.

Did on third day however, and Loch Sunart has to be seen: just magnificent. Strontian ia a very pretty little place too, great pottery there with very reasonable prices. Resipole Art Gallery worth a visit too.

House provides every conceivable comfort and was much larger than expected. Great styling and loads of books, DVDs, CDs to while away lazy days overlooking Mull.

Ease of booking, communications with Isbell (who called on our first night to ensure we had arrived safely and that we had everything we needed - thank you Isbell) and pricing of this fabulous place will guarantee many returns from us in the future.

Lochaline village has its own white sand beach

The property is located centrally in the highland village of Lochaline, part of the Morvern peninsula (just below the Ardnamurchan peninsula). It is about 40 miles or 65 kms from the large town of Fort William. The village itself sits at the mouth of the sea loch of the same name and overlooks the Sound of Mull. It has its own shop/post office, a snack bar, a social club, a hotel and a very good seafood and local produce restaurant (open Easter to end October).

There are many outdoor sporting activities available in the area eg hill-walking and fishing but perhaps the most prominent facility in Lochaline is a very active dive school. Both in Morvern itself and a short ferry ride away, on the island of Mull, you can find probably the best variety of wildlife available anywhere in the UK.

Of course it is not just a place for activity, it is also absolutely ideal for relaxation - away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life - enjoying the beautiful scenery, the beaches, the slow pace of life and perhaps, the occasional dram of whisky.

Other Activities: Bird watching, white sand beach, deer stalking

Golf: The nearby courses are all 9 hole. Craignure is the closest and is reached via the ferry from the village to Mull. Including the ferry trip it is less than 30 minutes drive from the property.

Ski: Nevis Range, near Fort William, is the nearest ski resort and is very well appointed by Scottish ski standards with a wide range of runs and good snow cover most winters. By car it is about an hour from the cottage.

Notes:
The property itself is all on the one level however there are a few steps down from the pavement through the garden to the front door. In order to take full advantage of the stunning views from the rear of the property a fourteen square meter conservatory was built by Anglian in autumn/winter 2007/8. There are are few steps down to the rear garden. There is an ipod docking station in the lounge.
