About the property

3 Bedrooms, 1 bathroom, 1 shower room, sleeps 6, no pets

This 3 bedroom (1 double, 1 twin and 1 with bunk beds) double glazed, semi-bungalow has a large lounge, a good sized kitchen with dining area, a bathroom and an en-suite shower room. The rear garden of the house has a truly spectacular 180 degree view of the Sound of Mull and of the island of Mull. The house is well appointed with a 'green' air source heat pump central heating system plus some additional electric radiators and a coal/log fire in the lounge. The modern kitchen has a ceramic hob and oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, and a dishwasher. There is also a washing machine. There is a very efficient tumble dryer in the laundry next to the shop. The lounge has a 32 inch TV (with Sky channels), DVD player and an excellent CD system with an Ipod docking station. The main bathroom has an electric shower over the bath and there is an en-suite shower room accessed from the twin bedroom. Towels, linen and a hair-dryer are provided as is unlimited WiFi.

Christmas and New Year bookings: We still have availability for Christmas and New Year. There is a decorated Christmas tree supplied and the local church has a beautiful Christmas Eve service.

Garden: The front garden is well stocked and provides colour all year round. There is a large south facing back garden with outdoor seating and tables. The garden is enclosed but there are wonderful views of the Sound of Mull. Depending on the time of year there are sunrises and sunsets over the mountains and water.

We have a small herb garden - at present there is parsley, sage, thyme, oregano, chives and basil which you are welcome to use.

Conservatory: During autumn 2007 a conservatory was constructed at the rear of the property which maximises the wonderful view of the Sound of Mull all year round.

Perfect holiday home in a stunning area. Very good facilities and clean. Everything you needed supplied. It was of the highest standard. A great area for walkers and divers or just for a relaxing break away. We hopefully would go back. Thanks to the owners.

Real homy accomodation

  • 5 of 5

We had the chance to book this property for 3 nights and we did not really expect that it will be everything we could dream of. We received all the details from Isbell before arrival but she wanted to make sure that we do not need other info, so she called us when we reached the house.

Drinking coffee while enjoying the magnificent view over the loch was the best way to start the day.

Sealladh Brèagh is truly a home away! We hope to return there once again and stay longer.

Had a lovely stay!

  • 5 of 5

The house is in a great location and we had a lot of fun exploring Mull, Iona, Staffa and riding on the Jacobite train while we were there. Our daughter loved the bunk beds in one of the bedrooms, and the house was very comfortable, well equipped, and well decorated. We spent most of our time on the sun porch watching the weather move across Mull - it was very relaxing and tranquil!

As with any place, we didn't have nearly enough time to explore this area. Would definitely come back and stay here for a second time. It was a great home base.

Perfect spot on the west of Scotland

  • 5 of 5

Everything about Sealladh Breagh was great. Able to travel on both the Isle of Mull and Morvern. Spent a good bit of evening time in the conservatory/solarium overlooking the Sound. Comfortable rooms and well-furnished kitchen. Good WiFi connection. Owners so helpful, even checking on us on the day of arrival.Lovely stay. Hope to return.

Lovely, relaxing stay

  • 5 of 5

We spent four nights at this lovely bungalow and had a terrific time. The property is beautiful and spacious, perfect for five people. The sun room in the back has an extraordinary view of Mull, and we spent much of our time there, especially during rainy hours. The fireplace was perfect at night. There is an excellent restaurant right down the road, and the Mull ferry 3 minutes away was super convenient. Overall, an excellent location, incredible value for what you get. It was the perfect location for beautiful hikes and drives near Fort William and Glencoe. Couldn't have asked for a more relaxing trip.

Isbell was very helpful and responsive to any messages prior to arrival. Finding the house was a breeze, and the drive up from Glasgow just can't be beat. Absolutely stunning. The house had everything you would possibly need, and was quite comfortable and homey -perfect for a leisurely, relaxing vacation filled with stunning scenery. Hopefully will be coming back one day!

Lovely quiet location with great views and walks on its doorstep

  • 5 of 5

My wife and myself stayed for a week with my 18 year old son and 15 year old daughter. The house was just fine with everything you would need for a week away. The conservatory became a our favourite location for breakfast and for a glass of wine in the evening watching the sun set over the Sound of Mull! As per the previous advice, Fort William is a good hours drive away, however, the local shop had a good selection of food to allow you to cook at home. We tried both the Lochaline Hotel and the Whitehouse. The Hotel was good and reasonably priced whilst the Whitehouse was a special treat - food was great but expect to pay £50 per head for 3 courses and drinks. My only regret was that we did not find the Ardonishire Estate just outside Lochaline until Thursday. I would recommend visiting the shop and chatting to the lady there. She is very knowledgable about local walks and places to visit. We ended up on a walk to the castle on the headland. The shop also has a great range of local food and local meat from the estate which were all reasonably priced.

I would recommend this house for anyone who wants a place away from loads of crowds but with great views and scenery on their doorstep.

Perfect holiday cottage

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I were able to spend the weekend at this wonderful property. It has everything you need. There are even movies and games for children. We spent our time exploring the Ise of Mull and Iona. Our mornings were spent enjoying the view from the conservatory with tea and our evenings were spent enjoying the view with a glass of wine. This property will not disappoint. We plan to return with our friends from the U.S. it was truly a wonderful place to relax at the end of a three week holiday.

Lochaline village has its own white sand beach
Car: necessary

The property is located centrally in the highland village of Lochaline, part of the Morvern peninsula (just below the Ardnamurchan peninsula). It is about 40 miles or 65 kms from the large town of Fort William. The village itself sits at the mouth of the sea loch of the same name and overlooks the Sound of Mull. It has its own shop/post office, a snack bar, a social club, a hotel and a very good seafood and local produce restaurant (open Easter to end October).

There are many outdoor sporting activities available in the area eg hill-walking and fishing but perhaps the most prominent facility in Lochaline is a very active dive school. Both in Morvern itself and a short ferry ride away, on the island of Mull, you can find probably the best variety of wildlife available anywhere in the UK.

Of course it is not just a place for activity, it is also absolutely ideal for relaxation - away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life - enjoying the beautiful scenery, the beaches, the slow pace of life and perhaps, the occasional dram of whisky.

Other Activities: Bird watching, white sand beach, deer stalking

Golf: The nearby courses are all 9 hole. Craignure is the closest and is reached via the ferry from the village to Mull. Including the ferry trip it is less than 30 minutes drive from the property.

Ski: Nevis Range, near Fort William, is the nearest ski resort and is very well appointed by Scottish ski standards with a wide range of runs and good snow cover most winters. By car it is about an hour from the cottage.
