Stone Cottage with Hot Tub in Llanberis at the foot of Snowdon

Bedrooms 3
Property type cottage

About the property

Lovely house set in quiet location close to all amenities.

Snowdon Cottage is a beautiful stone built cottage formally belonging to a quarryman from the Dinorwic Slate Quarry which has the luxury of an outdoor hot tub. The house is in a quiet location yet is only a 2 minute walk from the center of Llanberis, recognised as the Gateway to Snowdonia. There is also ample off road parking which is very difficult to find in Llanberis. The house can sleep 6 people & has full central heating and also benefits from an open fire. There is a garden area to the front of the house & a side garden with seating and BBQ. There is a large area to the rear for the off road parking. The front of the house enjoys great views up to the mountains. lake & over to the slate quarries.

Snowdon Cottage has three bedrooms, all with double beds. The two upstairs bedrooms are decorated in a cottage style and have uninterupted views up to the Snowdonia Mountains which catch the late evening sun during the summer. The smaller downstairs bedroom has fine views towards the mountains. There is a newly fitted bathroom, with full sized bath, on the first floor.

There is a large sitting room/dining room downstairs with TV, comfortable leather sofas and a lovely open fire for those cold winter evenings. At the back of the house you have a country kitchen which includes fridge, washing machine and cooker as well as the combi boiler which supplies all the hot water and central heating. All pots, pans and utensils are available to allow you to cook if you can resist the lure of the many nearby restraunts.

To the front of the house there is a patio area and a garden area where you can sit and enjoy the view.

To the back of the house there is a large gravel area which allows off road parking for 3 cars.

All that you need for a great holiday is within walking distance; restraunts, shops, pubs, take aways, Lake Pararn, Snowdon Mountain Railway, Electric Mountain, The National Slate Museum, scuba diving & climbing in Vivian quarry, forest walks, canoeing, fishing etc... All within a 15 minute walk from the house. Relax & enjoy a soak in the hot tub or a BBQ on the terrace or explore all that North Wales and the Snowdonia National Park can offer.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We had a wonderful stay. The cottage was warm, clean and very comfortable and the hot tub was a welcome treat. A great way to spend my 50th birthday and the staff even left us a magnum of prosecco as a gift. Highly recommend this place, wonderful views, lots of things to do around the area. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Fantastic cottage, well equipped and perfectly located for Snowdon!

  • 5 of 5

Great stay in a very well decorated and provisioned cottage. Owners couldn't have been more helpful, jumping to help when the cot had been accidentally moved. Hot tub is also ace,

Only room for improvement would be the shower which is a bit of a dribble. Overall fantastic stay.

Spent a lovely Christmas at this wonderful cottage with our three young children. The cottage was lovely, just what we needed. This is a great location, and we had a lovely welcome from Jim and Anne.

Great central location for exploring Snowdonia

  • 4 of 5

Quiet but central location. Conveniently situated for mountain walking. Clean property. Spacious and modern upstairs, traditional cottage downstairs. Nice seating area at the front of the property facing the mountains. Lovely mountain view from all bedrooms. Small play park and woodland walks close to property as well as a lake. Walking distance to Snowdon railway. Went with children aged 13, 10 and 7 and there was plenty to keep them occupied in the area. They were particularly pleased with the dvds and board games supplied at the cottage. Strongly recommend walking up through the slate mine and a visit to the Slate Museum (free admission). Would also recommend a visit to Caernafon castle (approx 5 miles away) and the Isle of Anglesey. Great base if you want to explore Snowdonia. Owner extremely helpful and accommodating. We will definitely book this property for our next visit to the area.

The house is just 300m from the center of the tourist village of Llanberis, which is regarded as the Gateway to Snowdonia. The Snowdonia National Park starts in the village and has enormous range of outdoor activities to suit all needs. You can drive several circuits around the Park taking in Bedgellert or Betwys-y-Coed and enjoy the magnificent scenery or stop by the many lakes, streams and picturesque villages to enjoy a picnic.

For anyone wanting something more challanging the National Park can deliver excitement on all levels. There are hundreds of walks available in the Park all with unique views of the mountains. The Miner's Track, The Pyg Track and The Watkin Path are just some of the more famous paths to the summit of Snowdon, and one of them, The Llanberis Path, starts in the town of Llanberis itself.

There are numerous other walks on the Glyders and The Carnedi as well as low level walks through forests and country parks and around the many lakes in The Park.

Golf: From Holyhead in the East to the Vale of Llangollen in the West, North Wales is littered with fine golf courses, many of which enjoy some of the most spectacular scenery in the whole of Britain.

The region boasts more than 50 courses and two of them which enjoy breathtaking locations are Beaumaris Castle on Anglesey and Conwy Castle which sits on the Principality's north coast. James Braid designed a number of courses in North Wales, the pick of which are probably Pwllheli and Wrexham.

Thousands of people every year flock to the coastal resorts of Rhyl, Prestatyn and Llandudno and quality golfing tests are available at all of them. Llandudno, in fact, boasts three first courses on its own.
